I wash the curtains sometimes I don't have a set schedule. The walls have to get washed twice a year but I married a mechanic and I can not get some of the grease off my walls. Open for suggestions if anyone has ideas.
Same issue at my house - I've found vinegar works really good. I also use magic erasers, Clorox wipes, and bleach spray. They all work well for me when cleaning black handprints off the bathroom walls. 8-|
Question for you though... do you have to wash your shower EVERY day too because of the grease?

Same problem here. Im for sure gonna try the magic erasers. The shower and sheets have to be washed all the time and im so over it.

I vacuum the (window) curtains when I can see dog hair on the bottom. I have yet to wash them, but they're new and dry-clean only, so it will probably never happen.
I have no curtains. I have plantation shutters and roman shades. The shades never get dusted, the shutters get dusted when I dust. As far as walls, they get dusted when they need it, when the dust is visible. I didn't know you had to wash them, I've never done that. I might have to wipe where ppls feet hit on my island and my light switches.
I wash my sheets once a week. The best night sleep ever is clean sheets and freshly shaved legs. I also have battenburg lace pillowcases that I iron but it's only on my favorite pillow.
I am crazy obsessive about cleaning. It's my shtick. I wash baseboards and walls monthly. Wash all linens including curtains at least once a month. Light fixtures, pictures, ceiling, stove, and blinds are biweekly. Everything else is daily. I can't relax until my routine is done.
You clean everything else daily?! I couldn't get to those things you just listed biweekly either. How do you find the time?
I have a super efficient routine that I follow to make sure everything is done each day. If I don't get to do something (like vacuuming or laundry) that day then I have anxiety. Not like AW anxiety, but legitimate can't fully function anxiety. I've been like this since I was a child. If my room was messy I refused to sleep in it. I had to be able to see the vacuum lines in my carpet or i would sleep in the living room. I've actually been working on it in therapy because I know if I ever have children I will need to be more adaptable. My therapist doesn't think it is full blown OCD but rather Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder which basically means I'm very picky about how a lot of things are done but I'm not necessarily fixated on them.
TTGP since September 2013. All cycles were annovulatory due to Depo.
I've lived here 2 years and washed the curtains maybe twice...the first time was when we moved in because the sellers left them behind and they are actually pretty nice looking. I might have washed them again after my cat rubbed against them and got them covered in hair...or I may have washed them in my redneck way, which is hanging them on the clothesline for a week during a rain storm.

But really, I take them outside to brush/beat every couple of months, but they wouldn't fit in my washer.

This becomes amazingly funny when you imagine @dmsmth talking about her meat curtains.
