  • We are keeping it simple. Hamburgers and hot dogs with chips and homemade dips.
  • what is a hero?! A grinder? Why are there so many names!?

I think we are going to order a sandwhich ring from bjs and some party pizza (pizza chips yummmmm) and then make the rest. Like pasta salad and things like that. I need to figure this out

  • Monster Meat (aka pulled pork Sammies) and salads. If I can put it in a crockpot and prep it the day before, then it's in the menu.

  • We are doing a pumpkin/fall theme party so everything will be a fallish food or comfort kinda food. Appetizers are prob gonna be chips and pretzels with a "pumpkin" cheese ball, pumpkin or squash soup, veggies and crackers. Main dishes are gonna be pulled pork sandwiches, chili, mashed potatoe bar, roasted veggie lasagna, mac&cheese and sourdough bread.
My goal is to have everything made ahead of time or crock pot stuff so I don't have to stress myself out too badly getting prepared.
  • We had a local BBQ place cater pulled pork, smoked ham/turkey and baked beans. I bought chips and dip and my mom made potato salad. We also had lemonade, pop and beer.

Getting the BBQ food (2qts of meat, 2lbs each of turkey/ham and 3qts of beans) was still cheaper than a stupid 3' sun at Subway. Definitely the way to go!

our food is very "east meets west" as we'll have both family (east) and friends (west).

the main ish dishes will be:
    bun (link)
    stir fry noodles
    fried rice
    chicken drumsticks
and a few pizzas for good measure
    maybe a roast pig

    side dishes:
    veggie trays
    egg rolls
    spring rolls (https://mentalfloss.com/article/16080/whats-difference-egg-roll-vs-spring-roll)
    fruit trays
    mashed potato bar

  • We are catering from a local Italian deli.  We'll probably have chicken parm, a pasta dish and a salad.  I'll make most of the apps, though I haven't figured that out yet.

  • Since we are doing a baseball theme, we will be having foods you find at a baseball game. Hot dogs, nachos, soft pretzels (if I can find a holder), & pizza. We will also probably have some hamburgers for those who don't like hot dogs and I will have a nacho bar.

  • Cake. We are only having grandparents, and both grandfathers live hours away, so they probably won't make it. So, cake it is.

  • I think I'm going to do a pasta bar with different shaped pastas and a few different sauces. I'm thinking I will make penne al la vodka, something with pesto, Mac and cheese and a marinara. I'll also make some meatballs so there's some meat involved and I'll make a big salad and get some good bread. I'm also doing a big tray with Cheese, cured meats and some olives and breadsticks.

  • Hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, homemade mac and cheese, pasta salads, chips and dips, s'mores bars, and cupcakes.

Oh, and seasonal wines and beers and all the other liquors.

@WhenInRome11‌ that pasta bar sounds awesome! And pretty easy!

@SeeJayEmm‌ that was exactly my thought. It's no expensive, delicious and fairly easy. I'm planning on making the sauces throughout the week so the day of I just need to boil pasta and put everything together.

  • We had DD's party on Sunday.  We did a hotdog (nitrate free angus hotdogs- go Oscar Mayer) bar- chicago dogs, traditional, and chili cheese dogs, fresh fruit, homemade mac n cheese (go pioneer woman- her recipe was a HIT), and kettle chips.  Everyone loved it and it was super easy :-)
