Cloth Diapering

Babywearing Q

I have a wrap that I wear F in while I get everyone up and fed and whatnot in the mornings. He likes it. I like it. Good.

The thing is, once he's good and comfy he always turns his head so that it's not facing where the wrap opens but instead turns his head so that it is facing in toward te fabric and my body. I can sometimes turn his head so it's facing the right way but sometimes he's stubborn and just turns it back. I'm afraid he's going to suffocate. Is there any way to fix it? Is it something I actually need to worry about?

Re: Babywearing Q

  • Can you still see mouth/nose?  Can you kiss the top of his head?  That's the big thing, airflow & being able to see him.

I think the only "fix" is him growing.

  • P used to do that too.  I remember one day at the zoo she spent the 2 hours with her face square in my cleavage.  I just kept making sure she was breathing.

  • Agree with all of the above, just keep checking frequently for good positioning and a clear airway. The exception would be if he has torticollis, then you might want to consult a PT or osteopath for some stretches.
  • Ds buries his face in my chest or back. I just check every so often for breathing. He gets mad if I move him so I stopped.

  • Is it always to the same side to where you adjust the wrap so opening is on the side he turns his head to? Or is different each time and he just wants to face the fabric?

If the latter, then I would probably just check that he's breathing comfortably.

  • As long as he has head control he won't suffocate himself. He'll move his face if he needs to.

  • My kid doesn't get a blanket because it goes over the face.

He loves playing with dh when he throws one over his head.
  • Ok. I can't see his mouth/nose when he does it, but I can kiss his head and he's positioned correctly (like chin not dropped down to his chest and whatever). He does this in te Tula too, but in that ican just lean him forward and reposition him since we have a tad more wiggle room. In the wrap he's so snug against me once he gets his head where he likes it, he's staying put. I guess as long as I can tell he's breathing I won't worry.
    said no mom, ever ;)

M used to be super snuggly in the k'tan also.  I just checked for breathing
