A fluffy robe and towel are the only reasons mine isn't.
Oh shit. I forgot to pack my towel, or even put it on my list. Thank god you said something. I would have been so sad if I had to use those crappy, tiny things the hospital claims are towels.
Shit I gotta throw one in too. At this point, I either need a bigger hospitol bag or dh needs to get his own.
Sleeping this weekend has been great due to Hubby being gone and I get the bed to myself!! I only had to get up TWICE last night to pee which I thought was amazing!!
Woke up early this morning since my body is getting used to the school schedule of getting up and 6am and so is my daughter. I thought she was still sleeping so I figured I'll go ahead and hop in the shower to start my day and at some point I notice her sitting on the toilet seat, Waiting! She wanted to know what was for breakfast. So while I was drying off she starts laughing uncontrollably and I'm like what's so funny and she says "mommy your pookie (AKA my Vagina) is so furry, why don't you shave it" and I'm like I can't even see it!!!!!!!! Then she goes on to say that my legs probably need shaving too!!! She has no idea.
Congrats to all of you having showers and getting their nurseries together. I planned to attempt to do some stuff in our nursery but I fell the other day by just Walking and I turned my body to avoid landing on my belly and instead my shoulder took all of my weight in the fall and now it throbs really bad and I can nearly lift it so now watching tv and relaxing is on the menu today!
Ugh...I will warn you this is kind of gross. I was having really uncomfortable cramping...mildly freaked out...and then nearly pooped myself as I literally ran (for the first time in months) to the bathroom to let it out. Pretty sure I just lost all of the pregnany weight. I don't know if it was something I ate or my body cleaning itself out for labor but either way I hope that type of onset never happens again! I don't know if it's because LO is so low and has been pushing on my bowels so I couldn't tell it was coming til it was here but I literally was about a second away from pooping all over myself.
I love pregnancy....
@angeltennis3 Yep, this was me Friday night into yesterday early afternoon. Worst ever, but it's over now. Are you dizzy too or is that just me? I am sucking down water like nobody's business. hope you feel better soon!
@MRSclarke08 no dizziness just the extremely uncomfortable cramping! Once I got it all out of my system, which took a few trips, I have felt much better.
Also, DH just got back from playing golf. One of his buddies bought me a deep tissue massage to use after baby gets here. I thought that was so sweet! His friend isn't married or even dating anyone. Need to find that boy a woman to spoil!
Does anyone else notice that LO is very inactive after you've had a very active day? For example my shopping day yesterday. Long day shopping and building stuff and organizing. Now I've barely felt a thing last night and this morning. Is LO just exhausted?
This is me today after a crazy day yesterday. Cue the freak outs!
I am so frustrated by the fact that I'm pretty sure I'm not going to sleep again until this baby is out of me. Between searing hip pain, neck pain, rib pain, and numbness in my shoulders and arms when I lie on my side, I cannot find any way to get comfortable. I can't remember the last time I slept more than 45 minutes at a time. I actually look forward to having a newborn because at least then, I can sleep for an hour on my back again.
I can't believe I may have 6 more weeks of this shit. The only thing that makes me feel any better is the fact that I'm clearly one of many tortured insomniacs on this board.
Have you (or anyone else here) ever tried unisom? A friend swore by it during her last few weeks but I've never tried it.
I use it!!!!!! I take it so I can go back to sleep with the million pee breaks I have every night. My mw ok'd it in my second tri.
Having Sharp finger nails scratching my cervix is not fun! The bump told me that I am finally full term. I thought full term was at 39 weeks not 37.
Is anyone surprised that TB isn't up to date?
My OBGYN SIL just said 37 weeks, too. And my OB said 38. And did you say ACOG says 39?
I think the confusion is that 37 weeks is considered "early term," but is still term. If you deliver on your own after 37 weeks, you aren't considered at risk for preterm labor in future pregnancies. Some sources specifically say "the end of the 37th week," so 38 weeks, but this depends on how you measure. TB for example, writes that you are 37 weeks when you have completed 37 weeks, not when you start the 37th week.
The new classification of full term starts at 39 weeks, but this really only matters in the case of elective non-medically indicated inductions.
Whenever people say that they don't understand why people want to see their babies at 37 weeks before they are done cooking, I actually get kind of pissed off. I want to see my baby when my body decides she is done cooking. Do I want to be induced before 39 weeks? No. However, depending on family history, cervical conditions, other medical issues (like EDS, which I have, and in which typical gestation is 37-39 weeks), etc., a lot of pregnancies will still end between 37-39 weeks and that's just fine. I hate that this early term vs. full term shit is another way moms are being made to feel bad about the way they give birth. Everyone wants a healthy baby.
But I am grumpy today.
-- That's not being grumpy, that's being real. People will find any aspect of pregnancy to shame on here.
@Syllessa, sorry you're missing your family. It's hard. Do you ever skype? We try to get home to Boston as often as we can and they come down often as often as they can. All our super close friends are up in Boston too so it can get hard. Hang in there!

We skype occasionally. I visited them in May, and that helped. This past year is just the first time I've EVER lived more than 30 min away from my family. 30 years of every big life moment being surrounded by them, and now I'm a 28 hour drive away. it's just hard.
OMG serious preggo brain today! So I got home about a little over an hour ago, have been catching up online and was about to doze off for an early afternoon nap....but something didn't seem right. Oh yeah that's because you went grocery shopping and left everything in the car! Thank goodness it's not 100 degrees out like it was Friday, the rain cooled down the temps a little this weekend. At least the milk was still cold.
I know this sounds stupid, but I will be really bummed if this baby comes in sept -- of course because he's due 10/19, but also because I've had in my head he'll be born in Oct, so he needs to be born in Oct! Maybe that's the type A in me...
EEEEVERYONE I see either says "oh no you won't make it another 5 weeks!!" Or "there's just one in there!?" Yes bitch... I just have a really big pregnant belly!!
Ugh I am sick of people inviting us over to hang out and 10 minutes later retracting said invite. The same couple has done this so many times! I'm going seriously stir crazy at home. I just want to get out!

It is 5am and my hips are killing me. I never had this issue with my last pregnancy. I was just thinking that by this far along last time, I already had an induction date set. It is mildly weird to me that I still have 4+ weeks left instead of just 1.
The last couple of days have been horrible for me because of lower back and hip pain. I feel like my pelvis is breaking in two and could barely walk yesterday. I told DH there is no way I can do this for another 3-4 weeks. I feel better today but am still in quite a bit of pain. It sucks! Sorry you are hurting... hopefully it's just temporary and won't be lasting the rest of pregnancy!

DH and I cleared out the office/computer room so my sister has a room when she moves in (we got everything squared away and she will be our live-in nanny, yay!). I am now putting together her futon. I am pretty excited- it's like doing a second nursery!
My baby shower is today!! Yay!! Also, I went to Walmart earlier (I'm pretty anti-walmart, but I was looking for something specific) and found my cute little skeleton sleepers for my lil girl! I can't wait!! They were only $4.97 apiece so I bought 2. I also found an adorable onesie that says "forget the lullaby I want to rock!" With a picture of an electric guitar. DH is a guitar player so its perfect! Only $3.47!! I'm seriously blown away by his cheap their baby clothes are! I may have to rethink my Walmart aversion.

Agreed. I don't think ANYONE is wishing their baby would get here sooner if it meant sacrificing their LOs health. But dang it these last weeks are uncomfortable!
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Just added Jillian Michael's "6 Week 6 Pack" to my Amazon Instant Video Watchlist... So I'm obviously gonna have a 6 pack by January
But real talk, we bought flip flops today which were the last thing I needed for my hospitol bag! Packing up that sucker this week \:D/ I can't believe we are seeing birth announcements already. Super jealous of the early October moms.
All of Jillian's dvds are stellar. That one is one of my favorites. I own them all. I can't wait to get back to them.
If nesting means the baby is coming, this baby won't be out until 2057. I did literally nothing this weekend. I just can't. I'm sending my husband for groceries and dinner. Actually all I've done this weekend is tell him what to do. He's on laundry now.
GOOD DAY TO BE A BROWNS FAN! Now time to watch the Broncos win.
Now back to your regular discussion...
That was a rough one for a Saints fan
(
And it does suck about delivery before 39 weeks labeled as short changing the baby. I wish I could go into labor naturally but the guy needs to get here before my placenta "tanks". So he may be here at 38 weeks and some change.
I let DH go to home depot to buy new toilet connectors for the other two toilets in our house with the fear that they are the same as the one that broke.
I said "fluidmaster brand, 12" long, 3/8" connector on other end, should cost about $7". He buys some crap for $5 that isn't even a brand name...yeah, because I want to risk it breaking again, which was the entire point of buying the more expensive ones. I'm just annoyed because I was fucking specific.
But that $4 he saved will be instrumental in your daughters' college funds!!!
I slacked on my nesting. But in my defense, I felt like I was laying on my deathbed yesterday and it rained...which means the gloominess stole my mojo.
I did wash four loads of laundry. I still need to buy and wash new sheets, wash three more loads, and deep clean my bathroom. This will happen!!
Re: ~*~Sunday Randoms*~*
Tucks, pads, I have aloe, and witch hazel. I just need some lavender oil, and some cans of dermoplast from the hospitol.
