I use mine almost daily and love it, though I have heard that other brands such as boba and tula are much more comfortable. It also has a low back panel. I highly recommend a soft structured carrier, but if you think you are going to have an average to tall child I would look into another brand of SSC, which will probably last longer.
I probably won't carry past a year. I have back problems and once DS got to big I couldn't carry him in our baby Bjorn. I just hated that carrier it was uncomfortable from the get go.
I would be lost without my Ergo. We bought ours used on Ebay, though it had never been worn, just out of the box.
I would just BST groups, Target Clearance etc for used ones, totally worth it. We got ours with the infant insert for 65 but I think it's worth the original price for the amount of comfort and mobility it gives me!
Love the ergo! Back carries are great for getting things done around the house with a sleepy or fussy baby.
As pp said watch for knock offs. There is a tag inside the front pocket and it will have a #. So it would never hurt to double check with ergo. They will happily verify and if the seller is legit they should happily allow you to verify. Apparently the knock offs are quite convincing.
If I ever have a second though I'd splurge for the Tula.
I was given an Ergo with infant insert by a friend who had been given 2 at her baby shower a couple years before I had ds. I usually keep mine in the car for the surprise situations where carrying ds in my arms would be too much and I don't have the stroller. But I did use it a lot more when ds was younger. I haven't tried a back carry with it yet.

I have no experience with an Ergo, but I love my Boba and BabyHawk mei tei. I just ordered a Kinderpack since they're supposed to be very comfy, but it hasn't even shipped yet.
Just be careful buying used. There are knockoffs out there that are not as structurally sound.
And they are hard to identify.
You may want to consider buying from an authorized dealer.
Used is not the only place where you will find knockoffs. I unknowingly bought a knockoff from Amazon, I didn't know they weren't an authorized dealer.
Nowadays when I buy anything I start with the mfrs website to check who their authorized dealers are. Not only do I not want to support the crooks who steal intellectual property and possibly endanger my family's health with their sub-par goods, I also want to make sure that I buy from a company that will stand behind their product if something goes wrong.
We subsequently bought an authentic ergo and it lasted until DS started to lengthen as a toddler. At some point it seemed to not be able to support his back, so we ended up going to our local sling library to try out some toddler sized carriers.
The Ergo Ida fine carrier but I think the next time around in would like to try a ring sling for the NB stage, and then have the Ergo for a little bit later.
I have tried the Moby, Bjorn, Ergo and most recently a Tula. My DD seemed uncomfortable in all of the but our Tula. Although the Ergo was comfortable for me, LO would stiffen up and get mad in it less than an hour of being put in it. I recently sold our Ergo locally and used the cash to buy a Tula on a whim. She seriously loves that thing. She often falls asleep in it, and never stiffens up anymore. I imagine it's much more comfortable for her (softer than the Ergo and cradles her more). If you live anywhere near a retailer, I'd highly recommend going and trying some out to see what fits you and your baby best.
