Thanks for the creepy internet hugs and positive thoughts everyone! It turns out I am crazy and freak out too soon. We just have a super squirmy baby that makes it hard to catch a heartbeat. I'm very greatful that s/he wanted to show off and let me get an ultrasound today. My baby was kicking like crazy!
I am so super relieved! I was praying for a positive outcome!
@stellarsoundz I was checking on a prescription about 2 weeks ago and spelled my last name with an e on the end, paused and said, "wait, what did I just say?" If pregnancy brain sets in this early, I'm scared to see how bad it gets later!
I plan on doing a lot of resting, catching a movie (No Good Deeds) with the husband and making my chalkboard for my weekly pics with my crafty friend this weekend.
Happy Saturday!
I told my mom about my pregnancy brain, and she said, "just wait until you actually have the LO and you end up with full mommy mush brain!"
I was like, "This is not helping. I am not encouraged. You are not helping. Thanks Mom!"
I should probably add that in my family we frequently express affection by giving each other hell. I live my mom. Mostly.
You know what's also fun? Pregnancy brain AND ADHD! Oh the joys.
-------quote fail-------
Me too! I keep saying that between pregnancy brain and being off of my ADHD meds I shouldn't be allowed to make toast unsupervised.
My random.. Yesterday, the heat index was 106. I guess a front blew through, and the temp is 71! I'm fucking freezing!! Good excuse for sweat pants, though.

------more quote fail------ Oh wow, thanks! I will talk to my prescriber at my appt on Wednesday. Maybe there is a safe option or a safer lower dose or something. I was on adderall; they don't prescribe methylphenidate as much where I am anymore, though I used to be on that as a kid. I just assumed that it was one of those "oh well, guess I'll suck it up for baby's sake" things and so I never considered even asking about another option. I also never expected it to be this severe. And the worse my insomnia gets, the worse my ADHD gets, and the more I can't get through a single thing some days. Yuck.

. I was on adderall too but I stopped tins time because the other two pregnancies that I used it I had losses, I'm not saying that is what caused it but the drs couldn't tell me it didn't have a part in it since it's in group 3 so I'm trying to suck it up

Really? That's interesting. I'm on Concerta and ritalin (the Concerta gets me through school day hours, and I take the Ritalin in the afternoon to be able to function the rest of the day), which are both methylphenidate, and I know several of my students are on one or the other. I had done lots of research prior to getting pregnant about the safety of ADHD meds because it's really something I can't suck up--managing a classroom full of middle school kids is hard enough medicated, and I felt that teaching gymnastics unmedicated simply wasn't safe for the girls especially now that their skill level is increasing so much. It may not be the right choice for everyone, but I'm glad that the studies are finally starting to come out and the option is there. Good luck!
@chaysefaith love that you are getting so close to good milestones! And yay for announcing. I loved what you wrote.
I'm starting to lose it. We have our first of 3 bi-weekly ultrasounds to check on the brain (and other stuff, basically anatomy scans) on Tuesday. I am terrified that something will be wrong again.
My random.. Yesterday, the heat index was 106. I guess a front blew through, and the temp is 71! I'm fucking freezing!! Good excuse for sweat pants, though.
I would kill for 71. It hasn't gotten under high 80s here yet and the humidity seems to be staying. I'm praying for a cool winter.
Your Japanese steakhouse idea had me laughing. The last time I went there we had taken my late poppop with us. He had dimentia but his personality was still there, if that makes sense. We thought he would love it, but as soon as they started the fire he freaked out and started screaming "They're trying to kill me!!!" That memory always makes me giggle. He was so pissed the rest of the meal. Miss that man
@racegurl87 yay for your H coming home! I work with a lot of military wives and I see how hard it can be, you are so strong! And happy almost bday!!
I'm currently in the drive thru at sonic because I really need tots and a cherry slushie. We had sushi (ok I just had California roll and teriyaki salmon) last night and it was amazing, I had dreams about it last night! We're going SO's work party today, they're all chefs and they're making food all day. I'm going to eat so well! I think it's safe to say the cravings have arrived!
Just posting and running for now. I'll catch up later! I've been busy already today!
SO was helping out at our church for their 5k they do every year, so I signed up to do the 1 mile fun run (walk) with SD. We got up at 7am and I got her ready and then we got donuts and "chocit milk" for her, and she was just pleasant as could be. All through the walk she was great and content. After we were done, all she wanted was out of the stroller! She was restless and whiny. I told her when everyone finished we would go inside and then she could get out of the stroller. Then she wanted to run all over the place, and let's face it, I just don't have the energy for all of that. Luckily SO was finished with his part by then and kind of helped keep her rounded up. Needless to say, I'm exhausted and could use a nap!
We also picked out a ring today! I'm so excited! It's GORGEOUS (of course it is, I picked it)!!!
Now to do laundry and watch the SC/GA game.. GO GAMECOCKS!!!
Ok ladies, major decision time, and I need advice - do I make pumpkin or apple pie today? DH may eat himself to death if I make both, which was my first choice.
Just cleaned out the fridge. 75% of the stuff in there was rotting leftovers and/or expired packaged goods (many of which were unopened). I suck at adulting. Baby, I will try to get my shit together for you...
@Chuggles1013 Sonic!!! How did I forget that Sonic exists until you posted! I want it soooo bad now, and SO is out picking me up Chinese food as we speak. Shit. I'm going to have to pretend to be excited.
I just remembered I might have felt my first "flutter" last night from the baby( at 16w)! I was sleeping on my side and my DH had woken me up when he came to join me in bed. I rolled over onto my stomach and just felt this flutter and instantly said "oh no, the baby doesn't like being squished," and rolled back over. I didn't even realize that had happened until it crossed my mind just now. Trying not to think too much of it incase it wasn't but I am super excited! 16 weeks isn't too early for a FTM right?

No 16 weeks isn't too early to feel the occasional flutter, but don't freak yourself out when it's not consistent. You may feel baby for a day and then nothing for several days and this is normal. Im a STM and it's my 16th week tomorrow and I'm trying to take my own advice because I was feeling the baby but haven't in several days. Enjoy those first flutters it's a magical time

I've been feeling flutters for 3 days now, and am finally convinced that it is, indeed, our Tigger. FTM, 16 weeks with a posterior placenta, so I'm ready to call it!
Ok ladies who love Phantom, if you haven't read the book of the same name by Susan Kay YOU. HAVE. TO.
It's on my top ten best books I've ever read and remember I am picky, I'm a librarian!
I think I cried 3 times reading that book the first time.
I seriously just want to sit on the couch today, but here I am, sitting in 90 degree heat watching my youngest cheer for 10 year old football players. After this, we'll head to my oldest daughters game that she's cheering for. I need a nap and some ice cream.
Ugh! I didn't like cheering for the games when I was a cheerleader, never mind sitting and watching 10year olds play football otherwise. I was so glad when all-star cheer came to the area so I could compete only instead of going games!!!

To createmagic14 and kellbell1982 :First, I am sorry that I have no idea how to tag people. Could someone take pity on me and tell me how?
Second,
I definitely am on the fence about it. But on the off chance there is
an option that might be helpful without being overly dangerous, I will
be glad I asked. So I just want to thank you both for chiming in on
this, because I really hadn't thought to see if there was any other
option, and I had no one to ask what their experiences have been like,
so I really really value your comments. It's so nice to know there are
other people with experience on similar issues.
@stellarsoundz I only have a picture of the setting without the center stone. You really can't get the full effect until the whole thing is put together. I'll describe it though!
Center stone is 1ct oval with a halo around it, but the thing that sold me was the center is set sideways, and a single row of diamonds in the band. The wedding band will be another single row of diamonds.

I felt my first around sixteen weeks. It's so awesome feeling the baby move
We are in Milwaukee for the weekend and we hit the zoo this morning. DD is passed out in bed with me right now while MH is watching the Iowa game in a bar and I'm the Iowa fan! But since I can't drink and he went to Dunkin Doughnuts for me this morning, he can go enjoy himself. I want to buy a bunch of cheese before we leave tomorrow, hopefully cheese curds. When in Wisconsin, amirite?
@Michelgesen I'm doing the same this week with DD's clothing. I just ordered a bunch of fall and winter clothing online and I hope it fits! It went from being super hot here to really cool and she had hardly any appropriate clothing it's hard to shop for her online because she's in 3T tops but 2T bottoms, and jeans are hit and miss because she has a cute belly that makes the fit difficult.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Things are looking good. Measurements are on track. Official report will take about a week. Tech said that it looked good though and not to worry.
I am also freezing here. My husband was so angry because I turned the heat on. The house was 67. Sorry that is to cold.
My H announced on Facebook today by checking in at BuyBuyBaby and saying he is embarking into Fatherhood. He tagged me, but for some reason I am still not ready to actually post something on my FB page. I think I am still so overwhelmed ... And the combination of reading through the natural childbirth board last night and spending a few hours at BBB today has me completely flustered!!
Oh and @kcbizme - your ring setting is soooo gorgeous - so happy for you. But still - Go Dawgs! I actually went to SC for a year but finished at GA and went to grad school there too, so I am a SC and a UGA fan - every day other than today.
@MrsLaurenandDan Thinking of you and sending vibes for a healthy baby.
I am jealous of you in cooler weather. It's 91 here and we're waiting for guests to arrive for our pool party/BBQ/fight night. I am so tired and not in the mood to host but I'll do my best. I am so ready for Fall weather already.

I'll have to check this out! The Phantom book I read was by Gaston Leroux.

Oh wow, thanks! Yuck.
