just baby.....sometimes potato. We mentioned to friends of ours in a loud, crowded restaurant that we were thinking about naming him Matteo and he thought we said potato.

I call her Lil Miss...DH calls her the baby. When we're alone, I call her by what her name is going to be (I'm trying out nicknames), but her name is sticking and it's getting harder to call her by Lil Miss when others are around (we're not name sharing til she's here because opinions.)
We haven't chosen a name yet so we call him "the baby" or "baby boy." My coworkers call him "Snick" for snicker doodle, plus a combo of DH and I's first names. It's kinda stuck. We have a small list but don't want to agree on the name until we meet him so we can see what name fits him best.
I do sometimes call her Ellie, but mostly it feels weird and unnatural to use her name... and for some reason it /really/ bothers me when people other than my husband and I call her that. So mostly I refer to her as "baby" or "baby girl" or "little sister".
Then I inevitably get "White Wedding" stuck in my head.
Before we found out the sex, I called her "Mystery Guest #3."
@runningmama14 Kermit is my stepdad's first name! He only goes by his middle name, Neal, and Kermit is his father's name. He wants it to die with him haha, but my little sister is obsessed with it and insists she's at least giving her kids it as a middle name!
We call LO Henry, the baby, pumpkin, our little fatty (he's pretty big, and he has little fat cheeks!). Sometimes when he's up to no good, I call him a butt-face, or something similar haha.
edited: I can't spell today
@amadkins197 - crazy! I've never heard of another Kermit (other than the frog, of course). DHs Grandpa was born in 1903 and lived to be 104. It's always made me think of a sturdy, kind old man. I loved his grandpa!
I honestly recently started thinking it should be the middle name if we have a boy, but that may be the hormones talking. I'm still thinking about it.
Team Green so we're still working with nicknames. When I'm feeling particularly maternal I call him/her Little Beastie but mostly it's baby, the baby, little one. Sometimes MH says cub or our little cub which is cute but doesn't come naturally to me
We are sticking with a "bear" theme. Gummi bear for this little guy which we got from one of our early US images. My previous pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage was Teddy bear because my husband said the embryo picture (IVF) looked like a teddy bear. So now my hubby and I go by mama and papa bear!
