pre pregnancy clothes

Re: pre pregnancy clothes

  • All my prepregnancy clothes were really tight when I was prepregnancy! Hurray for a lifelong weight struggle! I fit in a few of my larger items from my "heavyweight collection"now but I haven't had the courage to try on my prepregnancy jeans. I do need to try on my scrubs to see what I've got before returning to work next week.

    At least scrubs are forgiving.

I wore my everyday scrubs until my sixth month of pregnancy so I figure I have until I return to work in October to regain my "pre-seventh month of pregnancy" shape.

    I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
  • I hope you don't mind if I jump in, I was supposed to be a July mom but had my son June 9th. I still have 14 lbs to lose so nothing really fits.

Has anyone caved and bought new clothes? I had to buy a new pair of jeans and some new tops because after a couple weeks I couldn't handle wearing maternity clothes any more.

I did. I went back to work at 6 weeks and needed work clothes. I am almost 12 weeks pp and my body has not changed much so I am going shopping again today.

IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.

  • @Salsera29‌ I bought new clothes too. For me the 10lbs left doesn't translate into a much bigger size, I have no delusions that Jillian Michaels will be able to shrink these hips anytime soon, and I got a promotion before maternity leave so it was really important to me to return to work in clothes that fit so I wouldn't look a hot mess in my new position. But if I were to SAH my collection of yoga pants would probably have done the job til Christmas.

@whoberry‌ and @mrscbrad‌ I have 5 more weeks to lose the weight, or I will be buying new work clothes too. Especially since apparently my principal has decided to enforce the "no leggings with tunics" part of the dress code. Which sucks because I was counting on that to be most of my fall wardrobe!

  • Nope. I still have 10lbs to lose & it all seems to be in my hip/belly area. My shirts fit but I tried to put on jeans last week & they wouldn't even zip.
  • My boobs are gigantic. My hips are wide. I've only lost about 35 of the 50 pounds I put on during the pregnancy and it feels impossible to lose anymore because every time I start cutting back calories my supply dips. I absolutely refuse to buy a new wardrobe because it makes me so irritated.

However, on a positive note, I have boobs that people pay for and a cutie pie kiddo. Oh, and I still eat dessert. So, I'm not beating myself up too much. I would just pick up a couple of outfits for work and cycle them or dress them up with different accessories until you start fitting back into your old clothes.

As for you ladies back in your pre-pregnancy clothes.... good for you. I am totally jealous lol

  • Sounds like a lot of you ladies are doing great with losing the pregnancy pounds! I on the other hand lost 20 in the beginning but still have 20 left to go. Haven't lost much since the initial weight loss since. Hoping once I get back to work I will be able to fit workouts in during lunch. So long story short, I sadly cannot fit into my pre pregnancy clothes. :((
  • I have 20 lbs to go, plus what I was trying to lose before I got pregnant:( Finding myself crying every other morning by the time I get to work. I'm still in my maternity clothes unfortunately. I'm eating good for the most part but have no time to work out...and when I do, we get a summer down pour just as I'm ready to go or LO needs to eat (then it rains). I can't win:( I have to exercise to lose weight, watching what I eat does nothing.

  • So can we all agree that yoga pants are a gift from God? I swear I wouldn't have had anything to wear for at least 6 weeks.
  • I should probably just burn my pre pregnancy clothes. They're never going to fit again! Maternity pants 4 lyfe.

My hips got wider after my first pregnancy and much to my dismay they managed to get wider this time too.

@Internationalkate‌ I'm impressed! I had some coworkers lend me larger scrubs from when they had lost weight but that didn't last long and the NICU manager lent me some surgical scrubs. I got written out of work at 26.5 weeks and was already wearing 3 sizes larger than my usual and looking utterly ridiculous.

I'm still a little bitter that when I asked about wearing white maternity tops with my regular lab jacket I was told if I did I could never take my jacket off ever. Sure, instead I will just look like I'm impersonating a circus tent. That's far more professional than a tshirt.
