What foods are you in love with right now? What's making you sick?

I can't get enough fried shrimp, hush puppies, or cooked ham.  And when I'm nauseated, I am *absolutely loving* Chimes ginger chews and Yum Earth peppermints.

I can't eat turkey anymore at all. I don't know why, but it makes me barf immediately. Chicken is iffy too.

  • In a love/hate relationship with cotton candy grapes right now. They freak me out with how much they taste like cotton candy, but I can't stop eating them.

    This is me exactly. I've been eating everything. Especially homemade cheese, sausage, and egg sandwiches.

  • @twinkletoes3126 I was in love with sour patch kids in my last pregnancy.  Now I want them again!

    I don't really have anything I either side yet.  Once again I have no indications of a pregnancy except a missing period and a positive test.  Lol.  I'm hoping I crave fruit and veggie this time around though, last time I gained a lot from my brownies and cookies.
  • Fresh fruit sounds good to me but it won't stay down. Well, nothing will stay down. And I am DYING for a Frostie even though I'm vegan and haven't had one in over 7 years!
    Favorite fall activity: roasting pumpkin seeds!

  • Taco Bell bean burritos. Whhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I rarely even eat fast food and I think about them at least once a day. WTF??

  • I guess I'm strange... I'm a midwest girl so I usually like it a normal amount, but my cravings for hamburger are crazy... Sloppy Joes, Tacos, Cheeseburgers.. sign me up! So far I haven't noticed any aversions- yay!
  • I have a severe craving for pop! I know it's so bad but I want it 247!! I have been drinking caffeine free and only a can sometimes two a day...and Mexican food! Yummmmmm

    Holy crap me too!! Just discovered them...got coworkers hooked too!

    Only thing I've really had to get has been a sonic slushie, but maybe because that's the closest fast food to my work cause after lunch I'm so exhausted I need to get out.

  • so far there has been very little (aside from cucumbers and bacon) that I have been able to eat with out immediately feeling sick afterwards.  I have all day/all night nausea.  I ate one slice of pizza tonight and 2 bites into it I wanted to hurl.

    We're at about the same stage, too, which makes me feel a little better! But yeah, I'm a FTM and terrified that I'm not eating enough so every few hours it's like okay, what sounds tolerable?

    I'm not too bad with fresh fruit (apples and grapes), and most bready things sound like they would work but as an overweight individual I have to be VERY careful with that. I've already nibbled on more than my fair share of saltines.

    As far as straight-up aversions, I can't deal with eggs, which makes me sad. Every day this week my husband has asked if I want eggs, and every day it's been a resounding NO. This morning I had to leave the room while he ate breakfast. Also not interested in any sort of meat or fish, so I need to figure out what to do about protein.

  • @SeventyThree - I'm sorry you are feeling the same way! It sucks. This is exactly the way I felt with my last pregnancy. I lost 10 lbs first trimester because I really couldn't eat much. After about 16 weeks I started to regain my appetite. DD is perfect, if I say so myself :) Those babies take what they need from us, don't worry! They won't suffer, though we might.

    I eat a lot of fruit, too, and carbs. For protein, can you do any nuts/nut butters? Or dairy/cheese? I can usually have a piece of toast with PB and a glass of milk and feel pretty good about myself. I also found last go 'round that cottage cheese was great for me - I could add some fruit and it worked well. Greek yogurt could be good, too, though I'm not a huge fan. Both have very high protein content.

  • I want cheese and crackers. Every. Day. I've also been loving veggie sandwiches from Subway!
  • I'm on a tomato soup and grilled cheese kick, when I can handle it. Channeling my inner 8-year-old. But most of the day is spent gnawing on whole wheat crackers that taste like fail and sawdust.

    This is me, too. Just enjoying it while it lasts.

    But mostly I've been craving meat. Thank God Arby's is doing those meat stackers because they are sooooo good. All the meats. I will eat all the meats!

  • It's smells that are making me nautious at this point (like the girl chewing peppermint gum at work nearly killed me today or the seemingly endless hoards of ppl who seem to blow smoke in my face when I walk to the subway) and spice has been making me gag...odd! I've really wanted beef and spinach so far and I've never really been a fan of either lol
  • It's been chips and salsa for me. The other night, I ate 4 cups of salsa just by myself and wanted more!

  • Actually, veggies are kinda iffy. I bought some mixed veggies (broccoli/cauliflower/carrots) and the broccoli smells AWFUL!! So I pretty much don't ever want broccoli again. It makes me sooo sad because those are the few veggies I actually like, and I know how important they are to eat during this time especially

  • I want cheese all the time. Pretty much was like that before i was pregnant too, though. Sometimes the thought of fresh fruit doesnt do it for me. Soft ones like bananas i can handle but like apples and pears seem hard to eat.

    I just saw these at the grocery store last week and tried one (yep, I'm the girl who tries the grapes before she buys!) and I couldn't get over how much they taste like cotton candy! How is that even possible?!

    I'm not 'into' much these days, but the only thing that seems to tempt me in the morning is a breakfast sandwich. Like a proper english muffin, egg, sausage thing. I'm going to get FAT. haha (sigh)

  • No food cravings or food necessarily making me sick yet. But walked past a candle store in the mall the other day and about lost it. All those spice fall scents are coming out right now and they make my stomach turn.
  • I can not eat any thing with bacon or chicken. I want fruit, and any kind of potatoes ( fries, mashed, potato chips). I am also just loving chicken broth with noodles. Yum!

    This!!!! I stopped by Taco Bell and got two for dinner because that was the only thing in the world that sounded good. I also rarely eat fast food (I'm a vegetarian). In-n-Out grilled cheeses are also calling my name this week, and donuts. I'm definitely not the poster child for health this week.

  • This is exactly how I feel. I asked my husband tonight how many cupcakes are too many!

    I have never heard of cotton candy grapes!  I will need to look for them in the grocery store.

    Yes.  I was hoping to avoid that this pregnancy but my husband made me eggs this morning and I couldn't eat them.   I will need to find something else quick and easy to eat for breakfast.

  • I wanted a hot dog in the worst way yesterday. Which was strange because I hadn't had a hot dog in YEARS.

  • I like everything until I eat it. I enjoy it while I'm eating and then I gag thinking about it for days after. Except fruit . I could eat apples and grapes all day every day.
