Uneaten Defrosted milk - garbage?

I gave DS a bottle of breast milk before bed that I defrosted from my freezer stash. He probably only ate 2 of the 4 ounces. Is the rest garbage? Or can I keep it until his next feed? If I keep it do I need to refrigerate or is it ok on the counter (like freshly pumped milk)? Thanks

  • I also give a bottle at bedtime and I thaw it right before I give it. The last few nights she's been taking only half as well. I've been sticking it back in the fridge and using it the following night. I always do a sniff test first.
I don't know about leaving it out. My LO doesn't usually wake for a MOTN feeding, so I've never tried. Maybe someone else can chime in.
