March 2016 Moms

First Time Moms!

Hi everyone, and congratulations!! I just wanted to start a thread for first-timers, since I am one myself. I thought that this would be a great way to share our experiences!

I just found out that I'm pregnant July 4th, and my expected due date is March 10th, which puts me at about 4 weeks and 6 days. I have my first OB appointment on the 30th, so I'm just praying that everything will go well and that I'll see my bean and hear a heart beat!

My symptoms include fatigue and cramping mostly. I've had nausea here and there, but it goes away pretty quickly.

My husband and I are SO excited! And we're just hoping for a healthy pregnancy!

So, who else is a first-timer!?

  • Same here, I'm very nervous as well. Trying to keep a positive frame of mind :)
  • Also a first timer here. DH is terrified. I'm still kind of in shock. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to make sure the HPT were right, and I need to find an OB.
  • Personally as a first timer I would rather talk to the vets... they actually know what is going on and isn't going to sugar coat it like some books

  • First time mom here as well! I am exactly 5 weeks today and my EDD is 3/9. My DH and I are very, very excited! I haven't had any symptoms at all yet, except for getting short of breath while doing physical activity some days. My first ultrasound at the OB is 7/21. I can't wait! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

  • First timer here! My EDD is March 5th...we are super excited!!! First OB appt is on the 22nd...two weeks away...I'm so anxious about it
  • First timer here as well! My EDD is March 7. Currently 5w3d. Had an ultrasound yesterday because I had sharp pains and it scared me! Turns out it was a UTI. Feel a lot better now that I know everything is where it is supposed to be, but then again, that makes me more freaked out because it's real! eek!

  • I am a first timer too- also due March 10. One thing that surprised me is how bad the symptoms can be early on. For example, I've been really nauseous for weeks. It sucks. It is also really hard to work while feeling sick and not being able to tell your coworkers that you feel like crap. I am very excited for this baby but I can't wait to be able to tell people. It's going to be a long first trimester.
  • I am also a first timer and my EDD is March 7, 2016. Sore boobs were my first symptom. I've also had cramping and bloating and definitely a heightened sense of smell! I made my poor husband go through my whole fridge the other day because I couldn't stand the smell! My first appointment is July 31st. I'm super nervous about having a healthy baby. I keep overanalyzing everything that I ate/drank/did before I knew I was pregnant! Anyone else feel like this?
  • I am a first timer as well...due March 3rd and currently at 6wks. We had issues TTC, so we are both beyond excited at this point. So far, I feel pretty good..although very bloated and to the point of tears yesterday when I pulled on a pair of jeans and just felt uncomfortable. Now, I'm panicking about gaining too much weight :( Emotions on the rise!!
Try not to worry about the weight gain at this point.  The bloat is so unreal.  Get yourself some maternity jeans - you'll wonder why you didn't when the pee still was still wet.

  • First time mom here too! :) We literally just found out a couple days ago that I am pregnant. I am about 3w6D according to my LMP. EDD is March 18. When I called my OB/GYN yesterday to set up my first appointment, they scheduled me first for an early ultrasound on Aug. 3rd. So a little over 7 weeks (if the bambino decides to stick around.....still a little nervous about CP/MC since its so early). Then I will have an appointment with my doctor around 12 weeks. Super excited! I think DH and I are still in a little bit of a shock too.....

It's common if you have any history of complications or potential issues (like advanced maternal age).

  • Me too! I'm 34 (turn that magical 35 in a month) years old, DH is 34 and he has a 13 year old daughter.  So excited, I didn't think it would ever happen for us.  I was busy planning empty nest before 40 and early retirement at 57!

  • Hi! I also found out on July 4th that I was pregnant and I'm due March 10th as well. Great way to announce to my husband! I'm pretty excited but feel a little lost because my appointment with the midwife is not until July 30th. I have no clue what's going on in there. So far I've just been urinating a lot. No nausea (keeping my fingers crossed) hopefully it doesn't creep up on me later. I feel like I almost have no symptoms!! Don't know if that good or bad!l

  • I do not get an ultrasound until 20 weeks. But I realize now I am probably being insensitive to those high risk ladies being monitored- I guess I should be grateful things are goig fine so far. I appologize if I offended anyone.

DH stands for "dear husband." If you read our board's welcome post, you can find a link to all of the acronyms in the first paragraph. If you haven't yet, read through the whole post to learn some more info! :)

Hi everyone! I'm a FTM too, although this will be my 2nd pregnancy... I had a MC about two years ago. I'm 4w6d and just had a blood test done to confirm and monitor my HCG levels - all are good! Yay! We conceived through IUI + Clomid, so it was a bit of a journey, but I am SO SO excited to be here with you ladies! My EDD is March 12th - ironically, 4 days prior to my first pregnancies due date... I think that's a nice little sign :)

Symptoms so far: Very uncomfortable lower back pain when lying down or sleeping (anyone else? It's terrible and affecting my sleep!), very mild, sporadic cramps, sensitive breasts, dizziness when standing (especially in AM).
  • Hey!!!! Oh man! Time will fly by and at 9 weeks you should really be able to see your blessing on the ultrasound
  • Hey everyone! I'm a first timer as well (: my husband and I found out on June 30th that we're expecting. This is our second pregnancy. We lost our first one around 5 weeks which is where I'm at right now with this one. I have my first ultra sound on Monday July 13th. I know I probably won't see much on it but I'm still so excited!! So far my symptoms have been exhaustion, a little bit of nausea, and very very sore BB's! Looking forward to getting to talk to some of you (:
  • I am a FTM as well! EDD is March 1st so I am about 6w2d! DH and I just got married on March 7th this year so it will be a great 1st anniversary gift.

So far I seem to smell everything that smells bad (the trash) and am either very nauseas or very hungry, no middle ground here.

    Congratulations everyone!
  • First timer here too!! Found out on July 8, day after my birthday--happy birthday to me!! My husband and I are so excited; it's incredibly hard to keep this a secret! Due date is March 5. We are sending up lots of prayers for the pregnancy and baby. Can't believe we are getting blessed with a baby!!! ❤️ Sounds geeky but I'm really looking forward to going through this with you ladies!!
  • I am also a first time mom-to-be! A little over 5 weeks & due March 9. It has taken us a bit longer than anticipated - but very excited it has finally happened. We conceived through a frozen embryo transfer - so there is chance there could be twins! Our first two betas looked good - our first u/s will be July 23. Looking forward to hearing a heart beat ... Or two ❤️
