DD is 17 days old, and nursing like a champ. My problem is oversupply and fast letdown. I was trying to not pump until she was over three weeks to avoid making the problem worse, but I've had to for comfort the past few days (I only pumped once per day the last couple of days, but did twice today).
She nurses 10-15 minutes on one breast (will occasionally want to relatch and eat for ~another 5 min, but no more) and is gaining weight well. She's going 1-3 hr between feeds, depending on time of day. I've been block feeding (4-5 hours on one side) since week one, and can't really tell that it's made a difference in supply. I'm still making lots of milk and she's not coming close to draining a breast in one feeding. She is getting hind milk though; she was having green poop before I started block feeding and it's changed to yellow and seedy since. It's also made my letdown manageable.
She nursed my left breast most of the night last night, so I had to pump the right side this am...I got 4oz in less than 10 minutes of pumping. Then fed DD on that side and still had milk.

Any thoughts other than minimize the pumping?
Re: Oversupply
We had this issue also. My guy was eating vigorously, gaining a lb per week, and still not keeping up with my supply... He's 4 months on the 10th and now we are in perfect synch. I just ended up with about 500 oz before my maternity leave was over and donated some. Win/win
