DH just totally phoned it in when I asked him to put lo down. She ended up a total crying mess and i had to comfort nurse her just to get her to calm down.
Sorry dh - you don't get to act like a total nob and not have me be a bitch. Oh, and you'd better get better at this because when I go out on travel "I'm tired" isn't going to be a good excuse - there won't be another adult around to hear that lame shit anyway.
I fell down our fucking stairs and landed on my ass. Thank god I wasn't carrying Milo or it would've been worse and either I would've dropped him or cracked my head open. I'm sore, and reason 345211 why we need a 1 story ranch.
Then I tried getting baby to go to sleep for 1+ hours and mister was not helpful. He tried for 15 ish minutes and put him down as soon as baby drifted off. Of course baby wakes again. It took 2.5 hours to get a too tired baby to bed.
Peanut butter shakes from sonic are amazing. I'm surprised my family hasn't staged an intervention for my 8 week carb binge. Suck it, gestational diabetes.

As for getting baby to bed, last night I got lo to sleep at 9 (after the crying incident), but she woke up 10 minutes later. I knew she was fed and had a clean diaper, so I brought her downstairs and had dh jeep her occupied until I felt like she could be fed again (it was an hour - we were just watching TV and she was playing with him). Then I fed her - by that time, she was actually tired and fell asleep...I swaddled and put her to bed.
I know it wasn't "bed time", but it was so much more pleasant than trying to feed/rock her upstairs for hours even though she wasn't tired. And DH was able to redeem himself from earlier in the night because we actually had a nice time, and i was able to finish the beer I had started.
I'm sitting here teary-eyed because I'm so grateful for my baby, and my family. Even though the infant phase is seriously hard on my anxiety (the unpredictability of new borns wreaks havoc on my senses, and my anxiety flares because I feel like i lose control of my environment), I am so happy for this time at home and so excited to see what kind of older infant/toddler she becomes.
As an aside, I'm also really excited for Outlander tonight.
Just got a baby swing yesterday and OMG. Why didn't I do this sooner? He loves it and is so chill... Finally! Now I'm not holding him 24/7 and can actually get things done...thr bad thing is I can get things done and DH might figure this out and damper my Netflix marathoning.
Lately DS has been really good natured, but when his fussing starts it is way harder to stop... Like he built it up all day and finally gets to let it out. Anyway, it's the BEST feeling when I finally figure out the combo that will settle him.
This morning has been constant fussing. After trying many other things, the standing rocking with butt pat and a paci put him to sleep.
Same exact thing here, like word for word lol. Glad im not the only one that feels like he saves it up for a giant meltdown.
Epic rainfall in Arizona, my school was canceled today and the governor declared a state of emergency. It's supposed to rain all day. This has never happened in Arizona.

@alysson.lawless Are you going to be ok? That's scary. Let us know. Weather is so powerful and unpredictable, please keep safe.
I'm sad @Skeemer doesn't do UO thursday' s anymore
I really hope she's ok. It's like the twilight zone without her posts.
Hi ladies! I loooove you guys to the moon & back. The past 3 weeks has been crazy busy & I miss y'all bunches. My toddlers birthday, then his birthday party, then we took a vacation that we weren't planning to take. I'm just now in the groove of things & now my stupid tooth is killing me! I miss you guys & cant' wait to get settled back in here. Thanks for thinking of me. Y'all are the best ever. Now...stop slackin' & get back to being snarky!
We had almost 4" in one shot, so its crazy! We are safe, since we live in the middle of the city. Unfortunately, my backyard is completely flooded since my pool flowed over and my garage is flooded as well. Those flash floods are the real deal, my husband almost got caught in this:
Just wanted to say hi! Move to BFE SC went smoothly. We are living on top of a mountain with no cell reception and no internet service...very remote. Frist time I have been on here in ages!
Millie is STTN now and is 10 weeks old, I can't believe it.
I miss keeping up with you ladies. The only way I can get on the internet is if we drive about 45 mins away or if I come over to hubs work after hours while he is finishing up and hop on but with baby deciding she needs entertained more often than not when she's awake, that doesn't happen often!
I hope y'all and babies are all doing well :-)
Hey! Happy to hear the move went well - and totally jealous that lo is sttn!
My co-workers are constantly asking me if I'm doing okay being back, with my LO in daycare. I've been wanting to be back at work about halfway through leave! I'm just not cut out to be a SAHM. I do really cherish the time we have in the evening a whole lot more though.
I'm pretty sure my almost 10 weeker is starting to teeth. He is a drool monster and loves chewing on my finger. Also my 2 1/2 year old has been a monster the last few days. There's not enough coffee in the world for days like this. 8-}

My 2.5 yo has lost his mind this week so I can sympathize. Also, we are dealing with an ant infestation right now which is causing me to lose MY mind.

Prime example: trying to keep floors and counters food free due to ants. I go to put DD down for a nap really quick and leave DS in his high chair eating lunch for less than a minute. He (intentionally I'm sure) dumps his whole cup of milk on the floor and then manically laughs. Send help!!
Milo will be 8 weeks on Friday. He's starting to fit into bigger clothes. Generally 3 months fit, but small 6 M work with his cloth diaper butt. MIL bought a Heidi klum onesie from somewhere. He fits the 12M size. Wtf, supermodel sizes???
I'm getting pretty damn good at getting the kids ready for some time outside of the house. Diaper bag! Bottles! Extra clothes just in case! My stuff too!
The baby was crying and my husband Played Iron Maiden and she was mesmerized.
Lord help me. I have a house full of heavy metal lovers...
Yesssss!!!!! I've been playing heavy metal since DS1 was a baby. They love it now! I never let them hear anything with profanity or sex though. But, my kids will prob be metal heads and I'll be right there next to them lol.

@jensavicci - DS calls it "monster music". He loves it! DH made a kid - appropriate play list for him

Me: YOU should wear thongs.
OH: Maybe I will.
Dafuq just happened?
I keep waking up and waking mister in a panic yelling "where's the baby!" When he's safely asleep in his swing.
But let me just say I'm so happy football season has officially started. Woo hoo!

Out of curiosity, what are some songs on the playlist?
