Lol, I hope not either... that would kind of suck. As it is i feel like we are always hiding him from the sun. Awe Im married to a ginger too!!
  • I am Puerto Rican/Panamian with darker skin. My husband is white of Italian decent. My son is very white with straight hair.  Other than skin tone and hair texture (mine is very curly), my son is a carbon copy of me. No one has ever questioned my parentage.

Quite honestly, I don't really care what people think. I never have. My husband and I love our child. No matter what #2 looks like, we'll love him the same.

  • I'm Korean & my ex is Caucasian. DS has honey brown eyes, mine are close to looking black. Dark brown hair & his eyes are a little rounder. He also has my skin coloring. DS definitely looks more like me. His dad gets asked all the time if he's baby-sitting.
My SO is Caucasian (Russian), very light skinned with black hair & hazel eyes. He hopes LO gets my features but his hazel eyes. I can't wait to see what LO looks like.
  • It really depends on the color the baby is. That super white baby in my picture is mixed . Black/White. My older son has more of a tan but is still pretty pale. People ask all the time if they are my husbands kids ( to him no less!) and it makes him insane. Ont he other end, white people think they can say racist things to me becuase they dotn know my kids are mixed.
  • So I am black white and native american and my husband is white. I am a FTM but I will say as growing up my caucasian mother did have some rediculous questions of my sister and my heritage and wether she was a baby sitter. My lil girl will be either brown or light...either who cares. As being someone who went through this in my childhood, I would just say don't make big deals out of it. The more people say stupid things make light of it or just answer and not take the offensive stance..it teaches your LO that its not a big deal.  I am sure that my LO will be lighter than me when she is born...not really worried about it. I will answer the questions as presented. I am not sure where you live, but in my area its not really even a thing anymore. I was raised in white suburbia and I am sure that those type of places still exist, which in turn you might deal with some of the eyeing and unwanted questions.

I embrace the fact that most people are facinated with what I am. Most of the time...its not out of malice but curiousity. Just like me starring at someone cause I am trying to figure out something about them..it swings both ways.
