I'm due March 2nd. I have an US tomorrow (15 weeks) my Doctor said he was pretty confident that we'd see the gender at last months US. Did or does anyone know at 15 weeks?
Sometimes it is hard to understand exactly what is meant by the term "gender", and how it differs from the closely related term "sex".
"Sex" refers to the biological and physiological characteristics that define men and women.
"Gender" refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviours, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women.
I'd love to see an US pic, but please don't share a picture of what you think may be your child's genitals. If that doesn't yet cross a line, it will very soon. That is a picture that should only be seen by those who have a need. Internet strangers don't fall into that category.
Welcome, person I have never seen before because you haven't bothered to get to know us. How interesting to find out nothing about you! I am definitely emotionally invested in you now, and I totally care about when you are going to see your doctor. I feel the need to support you, even though you have not supported anyone else, because your utter lack of interesting information partnered with your rude and entitled attitude make me want to be BFFS 4eva. And since we definitely don't have an entire stickied thread titled SEX at the top of this forum where you could easily get your question answered via some light reading, I really want to take time out of my day to tell you what a special snowflake you are.
With my 3 year old we did a elective gender scan at 15 weeks and they were accurate.
And I use gender/sex interchangeably. I am not an overly politically correct person and don't feel that at this point gender and sex are different things.
Maybe next time before posting see what the general feel of the board is and look at past questions. It will help cut down in some hostility in all parties.
I believe I read recently that Cee lo Green doesn't "feel" that it is rape if the other party is drugged and passed out. Because they're, you know, passed out. So they aren't really "with you". At least, that's what he tweeted.
...Good thing the real world doesn't operate on what people "feel"
Actually ignorance is doing something without knowing better. I know the difference but choose to do as I like. I think it's ridiculous there has to be a riot every time someone says gender. We are talking about 10ish - 15ish week fetuses.
I will use them interchageably as my child's sex and gender are one in the same. If my baby's sex is girl, then so is her gender until she is old enough to say differently.

But they're super not interchangeable. One is a crotch and the other doesn't exist yet. That's like saying "my baby's crotch and it's favorite color are the exact same thing until it tells me differently". It makes no god damn sense.

Actually that would be willful ignorance and is 10x worse- kind of like fraud versus negligence in taxes or healthcare. Guess what the difference between the two is, and which is worse?

My baby's favorite color is black, like the souls of all you haggard trolls. And if it dares ever tell me otherwise, I will lock it up until it changes its mind. So there.

what the dick
So do you tailor your child's experience to push her toward female-gendered things only, or do you allow her to explore other facets of her existence by partaking in male-gendered things?
Come on, really? I never said that I would force anything onto anyone, but definitely not my child.
I will one more time explain what I meant and then I'm out. Because you are going to put whatever meaning you want on what I say.
At this point (meaning while my baby/fetus is still on the inside) I see no difference in gender/sex. They are one in the same to me until the day comes that my child comes to me to tell me differently (which would be sometime later).
Never once did I say that I would force a certain gender on my child and it's a bit ridiculous that you automatically assumed that. My 3 year old goes between being a princess and a superhero daily.
I see you are so worried about being politically correct for others but never for those you view as "wrong". This world be a boring world if we were all alike.
Well if it's now acceptable to make up shit about our babies until they can verbally oppose... My baby's favorite movie is Predator 2, absolutely HATES green olives, speaks four languages (but chooses not to), worships the hindu goddess Saraswati, has a crush on Keanu Reeves and thinks that healthcare reform is a waste of time. IT'S ALL TRUE UNTIL BABY SAYS NO.
You people read way too much into things.

So, according to you, when is gender determined? Ever hear of being born this or that way?
Just think it's crazy how mean and vile some of you sound on here. I'd hate to see how you treat your significant others... The woman on my baby center ap are so much nicer and helpful, goodbye!

Ugh, let me go let my husband out of his cell and ask him if I treat him ok. If he says I am mean then no bread and water for him tomorrow!!!

Re: 15 weeks too early for gender?
Nah. We also have a life and no time for that.
