I was told the DHA ones are really good. I had a really hard time finding them in Canada, so i get the Nature Made ones at Meijer's now. plus they are $15 cheaper there.
My OB didn't care about the actual prenatal I take, as long as I take it 2xs a day (absorption issues). So I take super cheap ones from the grocery store (I'm talking $1.70 after a coupon for a 100 count) but I am also on a prescription for folic acid and b vitamins that I also take 2xs a day
I use Walgreens brand. No DHA, my doctor wasn't concerned about this. Since I already started my bottle without DHA she said just finish it up and start DHA the next time.
I use the Nature Made ones too. I get them from amazon on subscribe and save, so I don't even gave to worry about remembering to reorder them. They are also the only ones I have found that don't make me feel like I'm going to throw up. @diamond7986 your body can only absorb so much of each vitamin in a day. So while the vitamin you are taking might have more to them, it doesn't mean your body is getting all of it and the rest is just going to waste.
I do the nature made with DHA as well. If you have a Costco membership you can get a large bottle for a good deal there. They often have deals on them. I got two bottles of 150 tablets for like $20 ish dollars I think.

Not only that, but some vitamins are not soluble and build up in your system, and can become toxic (ie iron). More =/= better, necessarily.
I use whichever is on sale. Usually centrum. I forget yo take it 95% of the time.
I take the Target gummies with DHA. Cheaper than the Vitafusion gummies with the same stuff in it. OB said they were fine and wasn't concerned about no iron in them.
I have been forgetting them this week since I've been sick so I took 4 yesterday....not sure it will make up for anything though.
I take one-a-day prenatals with a dha supplement. The pills are small enough to not make me sick and easier to get through than an iron pill and the gummies.
I've been on the CVS brand gummies which are identical to the Vitafusions, but are BOGO. DHA but no iron--my levels are fine though because I focus on getting enough iron in my diet.
@HailsMom@thegoodpotato hey I've got a quick question because I take mine twice a day because of absorption issues. Do y'all think I should ask the OB if I am taking too much, or not to worry about it? You guys just made me a little worried, because I've been on this same dose for about 3 years now.
@chickyclg I think if you have absorption issues, you're probably ok - it wouldn't hurt to speak to a doctor. Do you have trouble with all vitamins, or is it just the B vitamins?
As far as the folic and B vitamins that you're taking in addition, those are water soluble, and you pee out any excess that you don't absorb. There are other vitamins that accumulate in the body, though.
I know when my hair was falling out after I had Amanda, my friend who is a nutritionist suggested that I mega-dose myself with sublingual B12 - apparently B12 isn't absorbed well in the gut, and is better absorbed across the membranes in your mouth. She set me up with a double dose to start with (morning and night), and said not to worry because it all comes out if you don't use it... which is why your pee turns bright yellow.
@chickyclg what Potato said. I would talk to the OB about it, but it's not so urgent you need to call them today. Just bring it up at your next appointment. Does the prenatal that you are taking have iron in it? That's probably the one I would worry about the most, but if you have been taking it for 3 years, a week or 2 more shouldn't worry you.
Also, speaking of iron, to the ladies who are using gummy vitamins, those generally don't have iron in them because of the risk of kids getting into them and thinking they are candy.
@sunshine525 My fertility Dr. told me after I went through a lot of testing, and I also have MTHFR which causes only a very small amount of B vitamins to absorb so I take about 10 times the average dose twice a day. Because a lack of Folic Acid can cause neural tube defects and my sister had a baby with spina bifida that was the biggest concern.
