rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: We just had our 16 week checkup on Wednesday. The OB used a doppler and said baby was being super active. I guess those little flutters are the baby . Our A/S appt is September 29th! yay!!
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? We fought over the names. I mean full blown tears (on my part) and raising of voices. We actually had to leave a smoothie place to avoid making a scene hahaha. But all is settled now.
Fruit: Avocado (I always have to look at someone else's ticker for this info )
rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: nope. next appt is Oct. 2nd for a/s. Hoping to feel something or look pregnant soon. I think I have gotten to the 'looking fat stage' though. I thought it was just my gut, but H commented that my face got a lot fatter over the weekend I was gone
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? Oh, we just had one over something ridiculous - the baby girls (despite the fact that we don't know sex) hair. H is convinced I will never be able to take care of it - since our baby will be mixed and most likely have 'black'-like hair and I am white. He has no confidence I will be able to learn and has been directing me to websites on how to care for naturally black hair or mixed baby hair already. I say he is putting the cart wayyyyy before the horse.
Had our elective u/s on Wednesday and found out Ella is getting a baby sister!! I could not be happier. Now we just have to keep it from our family until we are back home in 3 weeks....
Oh and my rant is that this baby is making me look like shit. I should have known it was another girl. Last pregnancy, DH told me "it's a girl because she is stealing your beauty" and that's exactly what is happening this time around too!!! Oh well, Ella DID turn out pretty beautiful
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)?
No major disagreements, but I have gotten frustrated with him for not seeming interested in name discussions yet.
@maddscientist LMBO...the hair thing can be pretty overwhelming because it will probably be a mixed curly texture. Its beautiful, but does require a different level of care. But yea, its a bit early for that. You wont really need to do much until "she" is past 12months anyway.

Rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: I have started to feel a tightness in my lower abdomen. I think things are really starting to stretch and pull down there. Sometimes when I push it, it is pretty sensitive. I know, I know....stop pushing it!
We are team PURPLE!Baby A is a girl and Baby B is a boy!
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? Our plans for the nanny setup is really becoming something we don't want to discuss. Money is also a concern. Not that we will have enough (that is a concern for ALL of us, I'm sure!), but what to put away for them and what to spend on them now, etc. The nanny is the most major though. He wants a full time (live-in ideally) nanny, while I'd like someone 4-5 days a week during my work hours since I work from home.

I think your GTKY was HILARIOUS. My boss is black and she always tells me about the trials and tribulations of black hair. We have had hour long conversations about her husband trying to do their daughter's hair. She always says she looks like Buckwheat when he does it!
Another friend adopted a biracial baby and watching the evolution of that kid's hair was quite entertaining!

rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: Sleepiness is letting up so that's nice but I'm having issues sleeping comfortably even with my snoogle. My belly is still little so there's this weird gap when I lay on my side. I'm excited we're having our boy! All the old wives tales were 100% right between him and my daughter.
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? We haven't had any major disagreements. Just small stuff like no we will not name our son Leonids or Picard or Anakin.
rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: We just had our first AS scan last week, I had my 4month check up on Tuesday, and our 2nd AS is on the 16th. I am so glad everything is going so well with this pregnancy. It tickles me every time we get to see Dolce again. My girlfriend sent us a really nice gift of Ralph Lauren layettes, and now I want to go shopping for my little guy!
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)?
Nope not yet... We are pretty much on the same page. The disagreements we have arent really arguments. For example I dont mind sports, but I want our son to get more than the usual "basketball, football, baseball" exposure. I suggested gymnastics and fencing and I got the side eye from DH. Im a big Olympics guru, and we are planning to go to Brazil in 2016. So Im hoping DH opens his eyes a bit to other possibilities. Other than that we are okay. I dont think we will argue until Dolce gets here, and he isnt doing something the way I think it should be done. lol

GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? Names for sure. Pretty much everything else my DH trusts my research and we discuss options. I think discipline might be a sore spot down the road but we have time for that fight!

I mean, I know it will be a learning curve and might (will probably) be difficult. But, completely doable on my part - I already have curly hair so I can do that part right. H just thinks our 'girl' will have jacked up hair for the totality of her life.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Appts/Gender: No appts this week. I am feeling a little better so that's good. Nausea is way less than before. Phew! But I'm still super tired, I wish my energy would come back. We're Team Green so no gender to report.
GTKY: One thing we argued about this week was that I don't want our kids to play football because it's too dangerous to their brain. DH thinks we should let them do whatever they have an interest in. So it's those random things that we argue about.

DH and I are HUGE football fans, but I don't want my kid playing it. I was really relieved when DH said he didn't (unprompted by me) because of all the concussions. So we're both with YOU on that.
You can let them choose so much else, but it's one thing that is just too scary imo. When NFL coaches and players are saying they don't want their own sons to play, that should tell people something.
I heard that John Madden was starting a campaign about this... in regards to pop warner teams only playing flag while they learn the basics and understand how to properly make and take contact without the intense risk of concussions. He mentioned that they should start contact until around high school, and coaches should bench or kick players off teams who refuse to tackle with proper technique. Someone added that this would also give technology time to make improvements and enhancements on uniforms and helmets (which they have already started doing) for additional player protection.
I think this is awesome. I cant see college and NFL not being a contact sport, but making flag mandatory for younger players might be a big step in cutting back on the issue.

rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: noticed this mornings boobs are rock hard. They had been growing but this is a new one. Kinda freaky. Don't know the sex of our baby yet but I have a feeling it's a boy ( based on nothing but a guy feeling). Hopefully we will be able to find out at the AS scan in a few weeks.
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? No major fights yet. We did have a disagreement about whether or not to get second hand clothes. My hubby said if it's from a friend fine but not a second hand shop (ie from a stranger) I personally don't mind used things as long as they can be washed and are in good condition. Well see how it goes.. Most everything we agree on though (so far).
Week: 17 tomorrow! Fruit: onion rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: Nothing big this week. Still running and feeling pretty good. No appts. until the anatomy scan on 9/19. I did get sick for the first time in weeks, though, and it sucked! Sinus drainage did not agree with the baby apparently. GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? We disagree about whether or not to circumcise if this is a boy. We'll continue the discussion if we found out it's a boy.

Totally agree with the delaying of tackle football. DH played in college and "wants" (but says he won't force) them to play. I have unassuaged fears that his medical issues (including pending shoulder surgery, and a constant ache in his neck among others) can't NOT be attributed to his years of playing, especially playing while hurt because boys are dumb. I mean, I totally logically know there's no strict causation we can prove but it ain't helping anything, kwim? I want them to be big middle schoolers before they can tackle. And even then, I'd prefer the kid get a golf scholarship....

My DH also brought this up unprompted. As a former athletic trainer, he's seen a lot of bad injuries.
We had our 16 week appt yesterday and got to see our little kickboxers in action and the U/S tech confirmed that they are indeed two girls wiggling around in there. They are so beautiful!! Now waiting for the high risk doctor to call to schedule our anatomy scan.
Our only big disagreement was over baby boy #2's name...easily solved, :-)

rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: It's a GIRL!! This is a complaint AND a blessing: My boobs are HUGE!!! I can't seem to keep them covered enough anymore.
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? We haven't had any disagreements on the baby yet
rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: Had glucose tolerance test yesterday and have had fun symptoms since then. Haven't gotten the results yet but hopefully it's normal. I have PCOS and I'm overweight so I'm at higher risk.
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? So far only thing we can't agree on is a boys name. We haven't really fought about anything else yet. In all honesty, I barely see him since he's working overtime as much as he can to pay bills ever since I lost my job.
Married the love of my life October 13th, 2012!
BFP June 12th, 2014 (very faint), BFP June 13th, 2014 obviously positive
rants/raves/symptoms/appts/sex: had an appt on Tues nothing exciting but all seemed fine HB was good. Next appt is Sept 30th for the anatomy scan.
Getting a body pillow has been a life saver for my sleeping... annnnd DH and I are going bed shopping for a new KING SIZED bed today. I am so excited he is even thinking about it.
GTKY: What is a major disagreement you and your significant other have had over the baby(s)? Nothing that I can think of. He knows to defer all decisions to me :P

Rants/raves/symptoms/appts/gender: Next appointment is in two weeks; although I do have blood work for part two of sequential screening next Friday. Nausea has let up a bit and I can actually eat real food! I am still feeling pretty exhausted though.
