@Finnaroo Any word from your mom yet?
I ended up ordering those GD tuning forks. And Schichida Method math cards. I'm afraid my living room is going to look even more like a preschool. I'm willing to give it a chance but I don't think I want to put forward this Herculean effort to get the kid to read by the time he's 3.

Well we just got back from getting shoes for him and going to find a wall mountable baby gate that will fit that opening (no luck) and I notice that Luke bit a big whole in his tongue when he fell. Poor baby. I feel so bad.
What pisses me off is that she took the time to do her hair and get freakin Burger King on her way to my house, you have to pass my house and come back to get to BK. I was way late for work. My boss noticed. Not cool MIL. Thanks for allowing my vent, maybe I can start to let this go.
For the record: If I'm late for work, I don't waltz in with dunkin donuts either. It's rude.
But my dude is lying here with his head in my lap while I rub his shoulders, and life is really not that bad when you're at the park with your kid. Great way to spend the afternoon, even if it means there will be a mountain of dishes and laundry waiting for me at home.
also guys, my DH is watching the "Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" on lifetime?
Eta they were talking about taking her tonsils out last time.
She has kidney reflux and that resulted in a couple UTIs and lots of visits to the urologist and lots of catheters...
The doctors kept trying to fit her fevers into all of these issues. Like for the first 18 mos of her life it was "oh kids just get sick a lot, it's because of daycare" or "she's teething, it's the shots, her ears" but she was consistently running a fever every 21-30 days. Every.month. I started tracking them at 9 mos and by her 2 yr appt the doctor was doing a bunch of research as well.
The only thing they can come up with is Periodic Fever Syndrome. For some reason the kid just runs fevers in a cycle. They get really scary sometimes, she's had febrile seizures and been hospitalized a few times. I've become really good at catching it early though and keeping her cool. Lots of cold wash cloths in the right places on the worst nights.
No one ever catches anything from her. She never tests positive for strep or flu or anything. Her cbc comes back normal usually. It's exhausting and it worries me to think that there may be some really awful underlying cause, but she's been tested for everything so I try not to worry.
eta: sometimes she gets actual sicknesses like she has had strep a few times and roseola but not during her fever periods.
