  With my last name, yes, they would be boring.  I think they are perfectly balanced when paired with an interesting, ethnic LN.

  Dress them up with an exciting middle name. I love Jane, personally. I think it's under-used but classic and elegant. I prefer Anna, Annemarie, Analise, etc with the nn Anne as opposed to the plain name. But as long as it's spelled with an "e"...

  I do like Anneliese, but I could never use the spelling "Analise", for obvious reasons
