Not finding out the gender of our baby

Re: Not finding out the gender of our baby

  • So happy to have some Friday drama to read while waiting in the doc's office for them to identify this thing on my face...(which they already brought 3 people in to look at and have taken pictures of....nice huh?)

    So I appreciate the distraction! LoL.
    <3</p>

    I am getting caught up as well since I have been sitting in the waiting room for 15 minutes.

  • @leosmom25‌ Yes! Huge Friends fan. I am picturing Ross with his ass exposed and all the medical students in there! That was me except not my ass...I was complaining to DH that it just HAD to be on my face....guess it actually COULD be worse! Haha. And no... @Slaps‌ I don't think I will be sharing a pic of it...but part of me thinks that nurse is uploading it to her FB right now and captioning it " you should have seen the thing growing on this lady's face!"
  • Whoa, why did I ignore this thread so long?

  • P.S. @giovanna430 you're new here, so perhaps you don't realize, but the ladies on this board are really, genuinely a loving and incredibly supportive community. Many of them feel passionately about the sex/gender distinction, and the rest of the women here (even those who don't care so much) respect and understand that. We all appreciated that you apologized for your earlier gaffe, and I would venture to guess that most of us were surprised when you then came back feeling angry and defensive. You got lots of kind and helpful responses and welcomes, and just a few mildly snarky (but not mean) remarks. You'll find that snark here is usually welcomed, enjoyed, and taken lightly. If you choose to stick around, and not insult us, you'll be welcomed into a fantastic and kind group of women. If not, it's your loss. You'll also find a great variety of hobbies among the women in this group - exercise, reading, crafting.... read the treads, we're a pretty fun bunch!

    @gradschoolmom1234 you know I have a creepy Internet crush on you and your brain but I have to disagree with you here. I, for one, was not the least bit surprised that she came back angry and defensive. It's Friday and she posted about gender, all of the signs were there!

    I'm glad you all could explain (and urban dictionary...) because here in Maine when someone or something is described as salty it is a compliment meaning knowledgeable/experienced. Thankfully from contextual clues I knew she wasn't trying to be kind ;)

    I see this as a positive opportunity to add salty to our d14 names.

    Mean, drunk, pot head, salty, klassless, homemaker d14. (Did I miss any?)

    And that's why I love you all.

    Pretentious

  • I know what you mean but I recognized it was out of love so I turned it into a Baby Guessing Game. I gave certain criteria (bday, time, sex, weight, etc) for everyone to guess. The one with the most correct guesses wins. It gave them some competition to focus on and it's been fun!

    However, I will say I have one friend that actually tried to trick me into sending her an ultrasound photo of baby's feet (she can read ultrasounds) and I told her to pound sand. I just found that to be incredibly selfish and I told her I didn't appreciate her being so careless of our feelings and thinking she had the right to know the sex before us! Don't worry...I wasn't as bitchy as it sounds and we kissed and made up. Plus, we had a very respectful ultrasound tech and she didn't take any incriminating images.

    We've had a lot of pressure from our family to find out...they forget the harder I'm pushed the harder I dig in my heels.

    This always makes me think of Steel Magnolias. "Daddy always said an ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure"
