so... @pwnlover12, have you been over to the mod board? Do they have super secret handshake? Tell us all the secrets! Or did you have to sign in blood that the first rule about being a mod is don't talk about being a mod?
Dude, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm probably going to be the lazy sheriff in town. No threats about "towing the line" from me. Thank god we have @golfingdarwinfish to lead us to greatness.

Yeah, bull f'ing shit! *Joins Trisha is Shadowy PM campaign*
Installation with either the seatbelt or Latch is equally safe assuming that LATCH is designed for seat installation in that position in the car. Many cars are not equipped with LATCH for the middle seat (and using the ones from the two side seats is a huge no-no), so the safest way to install an infant seat is with the seatbelt in the middle seat.
Seat protectors are not safety tested (unless maybe the ones that are the same brand are? I don't know) and generally should not be used.
Something like 90% of carseats are incorrectly installed. It's best to get a carseat inspection to make sure it is right.
I don't know if this has been said, but you can go to a fire station and they can check your car seat for you.

DH emailed me today and said that he was sad we never do anything together anymore. I feel bad, we really do stay home a lot right now because of the baby coming, I am too tired to go out and do things and I want to save money right now. On top of that, I would rather spend Friday night at home making a meal with him and watching a movie than anything else. He is not satisfied with this. I feel bad, I just don't know what else to do right now!
Did you ask him for suggestions on what he'd like to do??
I did, I suggested dinner and a movie or something. He just said that we would talk about it later when we were both home from work... We have had this conversation several times before and then it seems like we still do nothing. We seem to fall into the same rut. I am at the point where I think I need to make him feel like his my priority right now before this baby comes, and I don't know why it seems so hard to do that right now.
I'm kinda in the opposite boat right now. I really want to go out to dinner. So I can put on some makeup, do my hair and not wear scrubs or sweat pants for once. I just need to get out! But DH's job is so busy right now that all he wants to do is order take out and watch TV. I sympathize with him being tired and I know there have been plenty of times during this pregnancy that I haven't felt like going out but I have to get out of this house!
You would think I would want to get out with winter coming and a baby on the way... but I feel like a total homebody right now. Part of me wants to go out dancing (when I have a burst of energy) The other part of me wants to stay home, cook and be home. DH doesn't put it on me at all, he does say it is a joint effort.

Not to pry. But I have noticed my DH normally means things in the bedroom. This is just my experience with my DH. You guys might be in a different boat behind closed doors then us. But my DH will never come out and say it but he loves to beat around the bush saying things like he misses me. Or we never have time together. He is a gentlemen about it. But I have learned after he gets some room time he is good for a while. And doesn't mention it.
Um...I just got a Facebook invitation to a wedding.
Of someone that is only my FB friend bc a long time ago those of us with an unusual last name who are all distantly related (my dad's grandpa or someone had 10 brothers) FB friended each other. I have never met this person. We are perhaps fourth cousins...or something.
So random.
Do you have to bring a dish and a bottle of champagne?

Absolutely! Most of the time when I get out of bed or off of the couch. It hurts like a mother and has brought tears to my eyes a few times recently.

Yes. It hurts to sneeze. A lot.
This.
Yes it hurts like a mother. I looked real graceful walking around the hardware store and just stopping in my tracks and doubling over! Another reason I don't want to leave the house lol
Thanks everyone for the car seat tips and reminder. I will have to check when our fire department is having there next car seat check.
Pizza is my #1 craving it must be cheese and from costco
My hubby was so cute today. He came home from work, hugged me and just started rubbing and talking to my stomach telling lo how excited he is to see him soon. It was very sweet
Everyone, please feel free to flog me for having zero self control in responding to ridiculousness. I need to just remind myself not to engage, but then I read something and before I can stop myself, I'm hitting "Post reply."

Ugh, yes, mine came back. It's just fantastic in combination with being kicked in the ribs and punched in the cervix.
Oh Muh Gosh you guys! I just had a Pumpkin Pie blizzard and it was HEAVENLY! Everything I wanted and more I feel like a very round very happy pregnant lady right now.
Finally caught up with the thread after being away all day. So grateful for this board. I cannot stop eating. My hips also feel like they're being pulled out of their sockets. Also my little ninja has been practicing moves all day. It tickles me!
I'm just going to vent here about some bitch in a local moms group.
She posted earlier that she has a live in nanny/housekeeper who has been with her for a couple of months now. Semi backstory: she's had a really tough time keeping the position filled and keeps losing people, so having someone for a few months is a big deal. She said her nanny came to her today asking to take off work at 6pm on Tuesdays to go to church and ostensibly to have family time, and then return to the home at 8am on Wednesday when her work day starts next. The woman is FTFO because the nanny is "on call" between 6:30pm when she gets off work and 8am the following day.
Dafuq? Am I crazy here, or is that totally unrealistic? Also, since the nanny would be required to stay in the house during her on call hours and can't do anything on her own, those should be paid work hours. So between on call and actual work hours each week, she's expecting this woman to work for her for 106 hours from M-F. But begrudges her one damn day of not being on call and getting off a half hour early?
Shit like this is why I generally hate people. It just seems really over the top and it's one of the reasons why, although I really want to have a housekeeper come, I can't bring myself to do it. Because I don't want anyone helping me thinking I'm as big an asshole as so many of the women in the local moms group who have similar attitudes to the lady today.
@trisharenee0316 This woman is BSC. You are right. But there are good and responsible and considerate ways to employ people in your household. You have to treat them with respect. When I was a nanny, I had one fantastic employer who was reasonable and kind and communicated with me. She made sure my needs were met and that I was happy in their employ. Then I had a BSC SAHM employer who treated me as an inferior, communicated passive aggressively, had ridiculous expectations etc. There are plenty of ways to not be like her. Namely, do not be a huge effing asshole to other human beings.

It honestly disgusts me because there are so many privileged, entitled people (yay for Southern California, I guess) who speak about their household help so disgustingly, it makes me sick. And it makes me sad for the women who are desperate enough for a job that they end up working for these lunatics. I know in my heart that I'm nothing like those people and I would never, EVER treat someone that way, but I don't know...I feel like I'll get lumped into the same category as these insane bitches. I also think it grates on me because I grew up poor and there's this huge classist element to how these women treat their household help. So while I'm now in a much better place than I was growing up, I feel like I empathize and identify more with the employees. Maybe that would actually make me a great employer?

-- I hated her as soon as I read "live in nanny", lol. In all seriousness though, that woman sounds horrible and completely unreasonable. The fact that you are aware of this tells me you'd be an excellent employer.
She's now all butt hurt because most people told her she was a twatwaffle. Didn't take heed at all.
I hope someone tells her nanny that she is entitled to be paid more money than she's currently getting because I doubt that the compensation as a lump sum for the market rate of the room and board + money would be minimum wage. And that the nanny reports her to the Department of Labor or the state equivalent.

NEVER use both.
