Car Seats for Joovy Twin Roo

I decided we are registering for the Joovy Twin Roo... now I need car seats. The Chicco Keyfit 30's are $189... they are cute, but curious if anyone went with a cheaper Graco option and was happy? Is there a huge benefit to the Keyfit's or the Peg's for that matter? Thanks!!

@cls78 Just until they are out of the infant car seats.. then I'm going to switch them to a normal stroller. Leaning toward the Joovy doulble bc its half the price of the city mini. YES! Way overwhelming. & I don't want to be too cheap, but at the same time.. trying to learn what is really necessary.

I have the joovy twin roo and 2 graco car seats. Everything is fine with the seats and stroller. I plan on spending more money on the convertible seats and city mini when my girls are one.

I was looking a the joovy double too, but then found the bumbleride. If I pay that much for a bumbleride indie twin that is the only stroller I would want to get. I don't think I will need a stroller that much when they are brand new since it is going to be winter.

We tried our Graco snugride 35 with the Joovy and it was not compatible. I believe it works with other Graco's, but not that one. We went with the Baby Trend click and go which has worked really well for us.

We didn't want to go with the Chicco's either because of cost.

I had a Graco w my oldest and Chiccos w the twins (w the Joovy Twin Roo). I much preferred the Chiccos. The Graco is fine and did its job, but the material is better quality on the Chicco and it included a newborn body support which was nice bc the twins were small.

The Graco only came w a head support and I bought an aftermarket body support which I later learned isn't safe. Aftermarket accessories aren't crash tested and can effect the seat's safety.

So bottom line is that they both are functional but the Chiccos are nicer/fancier.

I had a peg with my DS and he hated the infant carseat. We used it for 4 months and then moved him to a convertible, which he still uses. Im just getting 2 gracos this time around. I can't see spend $400+ on seats we will use for 1 yr or less. Id rather spend money on convertibles which they will use for years.

Im going to use the baby trend snap n go double. Im getting the click connect 30s and they don't snap in so I will have to use the strap that goes over but thats fine. I bought a city mini

GT double for when they get a little bigger. I can see them using it at about six months.

@MissEm15‌ PSA Just got the Chicco Keyfit 30 carseats for $136.80 each at Babies R Us. They priced match the target Chicco ad plus gave me the multiples discount. I also got a free $100 Motorola Baby Monitor for spending over $200. I have it all on layaway and they don't have a layaway fee right now.

I have a graco SnugRide 22 from my singleton and will get another for the twins. I have a joovy twin roo on my registry to go with them. Once the twins are bigger I will get them Britax Frontiers when they outgrow the Snugrides. I already got a used McLauren Twin Techno off of Craigslist for when they are older..... I know there are more expensive and probably "better" infant seats than the Snigride, but I Esther spend the money later on things they will use for longer.

@cls78 I think you're a better deal finder than I am!! That's a steal!! I love the keyfit 30's bc there's one that comes in neon green & I want two of them so bad!! haha. I'm trying to be patient and wait for shower gifts tho. But you just saved $100, I'm so tempted!

@cls78 is the multiples discount at BRU 20% or 10%? If it's 10%, will they take the BBB 20% off coupons? I've heard they will, but I don't know if it's actually true.

@MissEm15‌ I haven't seen them on sale and don't think I will get them as shower gifts, so we went for it! I did put them on my registry, so I can get the 10% back rewards! More savings!

I put the joovy twin roo on the registry and will wait until after my shower to get that. (or I might buy it if I find a really good deal or gently used one

I am going to try to resale the Chiccos and joovy after I am done with them to get a little money back if I can.

Edited to add I got the Elm green!

@cls78 I'm going to call & ask about the BBB coupon. I will let you know! I found a joovy twin jogging stroller on craigslist.. she says its a year old, but is asking $160. I'm going to offer $100 lol.

BTW I'm sure you've done this.. but in September/October are all the consignment sales. We have two twin moms groups in my city & there are two big sales coming up! Def. google consignment sales if you're in/near a bigger city!

The buy buy baby coupons are usually on one regular priced item, so I don't think they will give you the price match with the discount, but it does not hurt to ask.

The target ad was already 20% off the chicco carseats. (151) The multiples discount at babies r us brought it down to 136.

I just saw 2 chiccos exp 2019 with the joovy roo twin for $250 on my local craigslist!!

We received our twin roo in the mail last week and it fits perfectly with the Chicco key fit. The main reason I purchased it over the DSNG is because the joovy is made specifically for the Chicco to lock into. Where the DSNG has a strap that you attach around the infant seat and some people complained it was not as secure feeling.

We already had one keyfit but we got a second from BBB with a 20% off coupon and they had free shipping so it was around 140.00.

We love the keyfit because of its added features. Easy to adjust straps, built in levels for making sure the base is installed properly, ect. I found it was best to go into the store and test all the different features, since that is really what you are paying extra $$ for.

@diz1313‌ the Frontier is a harnessed booster that doesn't RF - it can only FF and then converts to a belt positioning booster. Britax makes a bunch of convertible seats that can RF or FF, but if you're looking w something w high limits that'll last a longtime, look at a Diono Radian.

Ah, a may have the wrong model in mind. Whatever Britax we have for my son does both RF and FF... I thought it was the frontier for some reason.

either that or they changed things since I bought it a couple years ago..... *shrug* the premise is still the same.
