We usually do a family FFL but DH and my brother's FI are too busy to participate, and my Mom ends up managing my Dad's team (and using it as a feeder team for her own - she's such a damned cheat). And it didn't seem like any point with just my Mom, my bro, and me. So no FFL for me this year :-(
I am a huge Patriots fan and usually watch every game, even though we don't have cable. DH and I would usually go to a bar and have snacks and beer and he'd drive me home after I got either happy or sad drunk. Always fun!
I do have a Patriots maternity shirt ready to roll ;-) My Mom bought it for me - she rocks!
I love football mostly because it's fall, it's something fun to watch on Sundays (esp at night when the kiddo is snoozing, those are my favorite! haha!) and we usually have a pretty great team that's in playoff contention! Yay!
I play every year. I used to be in a league that had a $250 buy in, but I couldn't justify being in the league this year with the LO on the way. So I am in one free league just for fun. I am usually in at least 4! It's weird only having 1
I was in 2 a year before having DD. It got to be too hard to juggle so now I am just in the 1 my husband commissions. $50 buy in. Makes the season that much more fun!
Love football! But to be honest, I don't care about the NFL. I like college football better. My whole family are huge Cowboys fans, though, since we all grew up in Texas (but now I'm an Ohio girl. GO BUCKEYES!!!)
SS - In general I couldn't care less, but my H and his friends needed one more person for their fantasy league so they asked me to join at the last minute. Last time I was in the league I lost in the championship so now I really want to win.
I like football in general so I do watch NFL, but Tom Brady bugs me and the Pats are my team so I've kind of stopped caring as much the past few years.
I definitely prefer college football in general. USC!!!
I cheated a bit. I will give a woot wot! BUT I'm more of a college fan. However my husband is a huge broncos fan, and I am collecting gear lol. But I just love having games on. Makes it feel like fall finally. We did go to a playoff game in Denver last year and it was awesome! And freezing!
Chiefs fan here! Though I love college football too! Go K-State!!!
F your damn kicker last year!! LOL Had he made that field goal, Steelers would have made the playoffs. Yes, we shouldn't put our fate in someone else's hands but still!!! Argh!!! so close!

Steelers!!!!!!!!
Of course there's one of YOU here. If you can't tell from the SN: We're Saints and Ravens fans.
-----quote fail-----
I know there are a few more of US here! They must just be sleeping still or something haha.
I'm cool with the Saints. Ravens not so much. BUT Steelers v. Ravens games are ALWAYS great. This Thursday baby!!
I love football. I prefer college over NFL, but there is something about opening the windows in the fall, raking leaves, then watching a Sunday game to make my weekend feel complete.
I live in Cincy so there are tons of bandwagon Bengals fans here. I just can't get on board 100% with the organization, but I'll watch them if they're on.
Love it!! Ravens fan here! DH is a Bears fan and we sort of half-heartedly follow the {team name whose name cannot be mentioned} since we live in DC.
My due date is the weekend of the Super Bowl (I'm due 1/31, SB is Sunday, 2/1), so DH and I made a bet that if it's a Bears/Ravens Super Bowl and LO arrives on or after the SB, whomever's team wins gets full naming rights with no veto allowed. I know it's a lot of ifs, which is why I agreed to it hahaha. (If the Bears win, I fully expect my child to be first name Matt, middle name Forte, regardless of the baby's sex).
@saiven@yamrwhite@ladyamanuet I love the Steelers/Ravens rivalry. I'll keep my smack talk to a minimum since the Ravens are still kinda rebuilding in the post Ray Lewis years (and let's not talk about Ray Rice), but I love that the teams are always so closely matched. Next Thurs will be a good one!!
@yamrwhite I am a Giants fan, but J was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He bleeds black and gold, so I am getting him this as his burp cloth for the baby:

NOOOOOO!
In an ironic twist, my husband (the original Ravens fan) will be going to watch the game with his mama and sister, both DIEHARD Steelers fans (they are a family divided). My MIL already asked me if baby can wear Steelers stuff. The answer was not only "No" but "Hell no."
Since we're in DC, the hubs has gone to the Ravens/Steelers games when they're in Baltimore. He had a great time. His mom/sis? Not so much.
I'm too scared to see my team in Baltimore. I'm afraid of getting shot lol
YAYAYAYAY football!!!!! So excited for the Pats game on Sunday - even though I can't drink and my bar for the past 9 years closed in July, I'm probably still going to go out to a bar.
We will be at our neighborhood bar most of the day on Sunday watching football. It's our tradition - we love it! We'll have to get there early so I can get a seat, but it's what we love to do whenever we have the time. Washington plays at 1!
This year, for the first time ever, I will be drinking non-alcoholic beverages (but they have an awesome bloody mary there so I'm going to get that virgin) and they have free popcorn at this bar so I'm all about that!!
@yamrwhite Just wear purple to the game! Then nobody in B'more will shoot you, and they'll probably offer you a drink and crab cake.
(The smack talk begins!)
I was at the Packers/Ravens game last year. I didn't worry about being shot. But I did get punched by a few Ravens fans... (ETA-- B, please, I'm from Richmond. haha. I'm not a cop or in blood, I'm good.)
That being said... WTF, Pack? Glad you thought it was ok to play peewee last night against the reigning Super Bowl champs.

So a coworker of mine just told me that they have 2 holding cells and a magistrate at M&T Bank Stadium lol. I'm not sure if he was joking but he definitely didn't laugh when he said it. I think I'll watch the game from the comforts of my own home haha. I'm all for some friendly smack talk but when you throw alcohol into the mix, people can get pretty scary!

I had a (female!) friend who ended up in "Eagles Jail" for disorderly conduct at an eagles game once! I don't think it's unique to the ravens. I love the Ravens but I can't vouch for all the fans.
No joke, I once got spit on while wearing modest ravens gear (a visor and a gray t-shirt) at a ravens @ {Washington DC team} game. Keepin it classy DC.
And seriously, not all of Baltimore is like "The Wire." I grew up there, lived there until I was 29 and it was a lovely place. I even got married at the Inner Harbor 2 years ago. It's like any other urban city - just stay out of the bad neighborhoods. I grew up 10 miles north of downtown and it was as normal suburban America as you can get.
Love, love, love football. Grew up under the Friday Night Lights as my dad coached for years before becoming an administrator, then watching my brother play in high school and college...and going on to teach and coach as well.
Brother is a die hard Raider fan (not the scary kind), husband is a 49er fan as was my dad. While I love Peyton...I hate the Broncos. Love this time of year, NFL, college...you name it. Pretty excited that this year's Super Bowl party will have our little dude at it...though he won't know how to cheer quite yet.

Yes they also mentioned the Eagles as the other team to have one! haha. My husband is a Skins fan so we go to some of those games and I have seen a few brawls. They should redirect their anger towards their owner.

I was at that game too - at FedEx Field. My stepmom had to break up a fight in our section. I love football and I love the Ravens but the fans are too much. I don't know where they hide these people because I feel like DH and I are wonderful, respectable people. We have no interest in going to football games ever. Maybe once in a while for fun but NEVER rivalries that will result in fighting.
Yep same. I would never fight or be rude to someone at a game. Maybe that's why the brawls happen at games. All the respectable people stay home haha
Since we are on the football topic....a friend who is a Bronco fan (so sad for his horrible choice of a team ) just sent me this, silly, but funny and made me laugh. Not a fan of Tom Brady to say the least, great football player, not so great person. Anyways...a lil chuckle...
Re: Can I get a woot woot!? Football!
Right now I'm glad my opponent doesn't have Lynch.
Seahawks!
I'm also excited for hockey season to start here soon, Love my Kings!
