@litttlemissmarla : I would definitely call... I don't think steri strips are meant to be left on that long. Your incision needs to be exposed to air to heal and you're probably right in thinking they're not helping the infection. GL!
@rksnyder I think your right about keeping it dry, I think I may have been sweating around there because I was wearing my c-panty for awhile yesterday and during the night when I was laying flat down it was totally dried out. I've been blow drying it after showers but thats a great idea to do it more often throughout the day!
@soon2bmrsn Yea the steri strips are getting all bunched up but just not coming off! I've read other stories about people who they have stayed on for awhile but with the infection I agree it needs to breathe, hopefully she will remove them tomorrow! Thanks!
@anotherdreamer Thanks! It was draining a little, where if I patted with a tissue a little would get on it, i'm just concerned the infection is still there every after the 5 days antibiotics, will be calling tomorrow just to double check!
With my first pregnancy my incision did become infected and have to be opened back up. I spent 6 days in the hospital with round the clock antibiotics in my Iv. Then I had to have my wound packed for the following 10 weeks! Please check with your doctors ASAP! Don't remove or do anything without talking to them. If you are really concerned call the hospital to speak with the OB on call.
You can (carefully) use a little alcohol swab on the tips to get the glue off so they are easier to pull but don't get it on the incision at all! I recommend having someone do that part for you and then you pulling them off. I know it seems like it'd suck but I promise the infection is much worse!
I'm curious about these steri strips... Is that what the nurses yanked off of me the day after my c section? Or are steri strips in lieu of staples? I had 25 of those!

I had staples in for a week and then at my 1 week check up my OB removed the staples and put steri-strips on, it looks like little strips of medical tape.
@arogers26 I had to go in today for a wound check and she just ripped them all off at once like a bandaid.. it hurt but wasn't terrible

Gotcha! I had mine in for a week as well, but no steri strips added! At my last pp check-up, they didn't even look at my incision/scar so I assume it's all good.

Any c-section ladies have belly soreness in the weeks following?? I'm almost 6 weeks out and in the last week i've been having some soreness above my incision area and a little below. The incision is fully healed and looks good, it doesn't hurt but the belly area above almost feels like it's bruised on the inside? Anyone experience anything similar, I have my 6 week check up next week so I will mention it then.

In the morning ill be exactly 7 weeks and on and off all day today ive been sore right above my incision and it totally feels like a bruise! Not sure why that part does and nothing else? Sometimes if i move the right way it hurts to, but more like a weird pulling/tightening sensation.
@littlemissmarla - I felt a little sore until probably 8 weeks around my incision. Every once in awhile it will still hurt just a tad here and there depending on how I move and I'm 10 weeks PP.
Re: C-section recovery
Don't be scared. It doesn't hurt and I was instructed to take mine off 7 days after they were put on.
