Hey ladies who had regrets about having bought homes - what are those regrets? We're looking in to buying for the first time so I'm just curious.
Things that you can't change: location in proximity to family/friends/work etc, overall layout (ex: are bedrooms all on same floor? Is stairway in an area that could prevent you from making changes in the floor plan in the future?), neighborhood, schools.
Or do you mean reasons you would regret buying a home vs leasing?
Nope that's exactly what I was looking for - thanks!
My child is still sleeping! I can't remember who recommended blackout curtains for his room, but I love you! They came yesterday so this is our first morning with them.
I'm irrationally nervous about my first OB appointment today. I'm at almost 15 weeks, so it's a late first appointment (no big deal to me). I'm not even sure why I'm nervous. DH can't come today, which I was fine with when I scheduled the appointment, but now I'm wishing he could be there. Just hoping everything is going smoothly I guess...
Stupid question: do any nutrients from peas, corn, etc actually get absorbed by the babes? They seem to come out the other end completely intact. I feel like maybe im wasting my time with those veggies.
Unless playing Mozart to my poop will make me more regular, you are targeting your Belly Buds at the wrong BMB.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Play date at the train store! His favorite part was knocking the trains off the tracks. And also the shiny silver coffee pot, and a "do not enter" door :-??

@mrshudson618 I don't know if this. Helps you, but we saved a ton of gift cards and used it towards a swing set. Other ideas would be picnic tables, sand box, watertable, tricycle/ bike, wagon/wagon shade, etc. I can't recall your housing situation though.

I think part of my problem is that I hate buying new things that we could get used. The first suggestion was clothes, but C has only 2 or 3 outfits that were new and not gifts, and those were target clearances. Everything else I bought at consignment sales or from a local mama swap page. I see things like you listed on the swap pages all the time, and he already has a bike, a wagon, etc.
But you do have a good point that I should save it and I am sure something will come up later that I am not thinking about right now.
My friend battling cancer got an offer in the mail today.
From a funeral home offering a free personal planning guide.
WTF were they thinking?!?
Oh my. X(

@mrshudson618 - I understand that. We haven't had great luck with buying those second hand. We didn't have man power to take apart someone's old set and re-build it so gift cards that halved the price rocked. I'm sure something will come up - maybe in the winttr. What is your cloth of choice?
I think I forgot to tell you guys about the score I got at a thrift store last week. Seriously I think I have an unhealthy Little People obsession. But I got it allfor $3.50 so mh can't complain right?!?
@Kitten80 I mostly use prefolds and covers, but when C started fighting diaper changes I got a decent stash of pockets that are mostly for the diaper bag.
My prefolds are various brands, they were all either used or on sale, but I think my favorite are the Imagine Smart fit from Nicki's Diapers.
I recently destashed most of my various covers and replaced them with Assunta covers. Super cheap, but I really do like them better than any others I have tried.
The pockets are all either Kawaii or a few Alva's. Again, cheap, but I have liked them a lot.
My spam contribution for the day is bordering on tmi Tuesday but it's so horrible/slightly humorous...thought I'd share. So my MS has been out of control, DH has been really good about letting me sleep in and nap etc. we used to take turns doing the poopy diapers but now he's been a gem and does the majority of them, Anyway... I slept in today so I thought I'd let DH take a nap since I work later. Not even 30 min into his nap I smell a dirty diaper, so I grab LO and get everything ready (I change LO in our room on the floor with a mat) take the diaper off and immediately just puke, I can't keep it in or swallow it so it goes all over LO's belly as I'm scrambling to lift him up and run into the bathroom so I can get him into the bath at least (without water) so I can continue puking as I'm yelling for DH. It was quite the shit show. Needless to say I'm not allowed to change the dirty diapers anymore as long as he's around... @-)
Haven't been on since this am so I have a lot to catch up on. :-h I just got home from the dr's office and find DH on the couch and G ASLEEP ON THE FLOOR??? So weird! DH said he was just rolling around with his monkeys and then he stopped moving around. I've seen some of your photos of other babies juat passed out but never expected that with our guy. Daycare must have worn him out! It's been almost 1/2hour.....

That's what I thought too.
Yeah from what I saw she was still not doing well. I did not see she had died though. Sad.
