comparing pregnancies

I know you are not supposed to do this - but I can't seem to help it. Aside from a terrible headache that I had two days ago (which i now realize was related to cutting out caffeine) and minor bloating (which is not uncommon for me) - I do not have any symptoms other than a missed period and positive HPT, at 5 weeks. With my son, I took a test bc my boobs hurt so badly I could't put a bra on without wincing... this time, NO boob pain.  I can't help but notice the difference.  I know every pregnancy is supposed to be different but this is so different that I just can't stop thinking about it.  Anyone else in similar boat?

Re: comparing pregnancies

  • I am in the same boat! With my son I felt sick before my missed period and "knew" I was pregnant before I even tested. I only took one test. This time I have taken like 12 tests because I can't believe it's true. I have little to no symptoms. A little nausea here or there, but nothing like last time.

  • I really have no symptoms. I had some cramping the first week. Occasionally my boobs hurt a little and I am slightly nauseous but really I'm feeling pretty good most of the time. With DS, I hardly had any symptoms except exhaustion. I do find myself wondering why I am not so exhausted this time but I try not to worry myself.

  • I had no symptoms when pregnant with L, but this time I feel horrible most days.  I was hoping for a repeat of last time!
  • I really really really hope my pregnancy is different because I had debilitating nausea the entire time last time.  It didn't start until 6/7 weeks last time and I'm at 5.5 now.....so far everything has been pretty similar, so I'm not holding me breath.

  • I've found that with each subsequent pregnancy symptoms like sore breasts, heartburn and cramping were less and less for me.  Now if only I could morning sickness to do the same.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • thanks everyone i really appreciate the comments! it's hard when you think you body was acting one way last time - and wondering why it wouldn't be the same.... but they will be different children too! lol - i keep thinking that i am sure the new child will be just like my son and then i am like wait - no it won't!  same thing applies to pregnancy too i guess :)  thanks again XO
  • So far, I am feeling ok, but I am also not very far along.
My first two felt completely different right down to cravings and such. Except morning sickness, which staid with me both times until the bitter end. I hope that kinda could be different this time but I am not holding my breath.

  • I am nervous too! my two last pregnancies were throwing up constantly the second worse then the first.  I have nothing so far, which is making me nervous....
  • I haven't had too many symptoms yet, but I'm hoping that with my body being "broken in," now, maybe the second time around will be easier.

  • I also have not had many symptoms at all and I'm 5 weeks today. Felt some things last week like cramps, and constipation but I feel fine this week. Just bloated.
