I'm a SAHM this time around, but with DD I worked up until I delivered. I was teaching at the time, so running around after 3rd graders all day was tough towards the end, but totally worth it. I wanted every last day of my leave to be spent with my girl, not pending her arrival. I ended up working until I was 40w4d because I went into labor early that next morning at 40w5d.
BFP #1 5/12/12; EDD 1/20/13; Eliana Grace born 1/25/13
I'm due December 25, and as of now, my last day of work is December 23. I just won't go back after the holidays. However...I have a feeling this babe is going to come early, so I will probably be working up until my water breaks. :P
Jimmie, mama to Zoey (March 2011)
Losses 5/13, 8/13, and 3/14.
Expecting another GIRL! Carter Grace due on 12/25.
I work from home and can have a flexible schedule, so I will be working until I go to the hospital. I will probably IM my boss as we leave for the hospital and let her know.
Working until the bitter end... unless I end up having a few vacation days that I'll have to use or lose. So we shall see- either way it will be really close. I only have about 8 weeks sick leave to use and I want to save that for after the baby is here.
I am going to try and work up until my due date but we all know anything can happen! I sit all day at a desk anyways. I also joked today about my water breaking at work and who was going to clean it up and help me to the hospital!
I hope to make it right up until the end again! I am actually due on the first day of Christmas vacation so I want to work right until that Friday, then we have two weeks off for school vacation. (My due date is that first Saturday.)
DD was 9 days late so I worked an entire week past my due date. It was funny to see people's faces when they asked when I was due and I said "last Saturday!"
My EDD is Dec 9, but due to my high-risk status I'll be induced the first week in December if I haven't gone into labor on my own. Plus, Thanksgiving is the week before and my and DH's anniversary is Dec 1, so I'm most likely going to start my mat leave Dec 1 if I don't have the baby before Thanksgiving.
So, basically, right up until I deliver, holidays, or am induced.
I am really hoping to work up until I go into labor. I am due 4 days before our school district's winter break starts so I am actually hoping I will last until then since it would make my leave pay so much easier to plan.
My EDD is 12/15 which is a Monday. I'll probably work till the Thursday before depends on how it goes and my comfort level (I do four 10-hr days). If there is no signs of baby coming on my EDD I may pop into work and try to work till this baby is ready to make her debut.
Pregnant with #2
IVF cycle 1 (Nov 2013)- freeze all d/t OHSS FET #1-BFN FET #2-BFP baby girl born Dec 2014 FET #3-Sept 2017 BFP but miscarried at 6 weeks
IVF cycle 2 (Oct 2017)- freeze all again d/t OHSS FET #1 BPF, pregnant with a singleton due Sept 2018
Wow. I am so jealous of the folks who get time before baby off and folks who get such extended (paid) time after! I get 6 weeks but they use my sick leave. And that's it.
Guess I will be working until labor begins....which sucks cus I have a pretty physically demanding job.
I am moving to Canada! (okay, not really, but I have looked for jobs up there before and may want to before thinking about reproducing again).
I'm planning to work until I go into labor, or 10 days past due date as OB will only let me go to 42 weeks (babies tend to come late in my family). I plan to talk to her at next appt to make sure my work plan makes sense to my OB. I have a desk job and so far being pregnant has not been an issue.
Oh, and I hope no one has complications (fingers crossed for everyone here!!).
I've saved up a little over 2 weeks vacation plus I have 6-8 weeks STD (which I paid into, otherwise nothing is paid). As long as I feel okay, December is a very busy time of year for my job and the longer I can be here, the better. Plus I'd rather have as much time with baby as possible.
I'm in canada too, I didn't know that. I thought it was a standard 60% across the board. What province are you in? I am looking forward to the year off!

I worked up until I had ds#1. With ds#2, I stopped work 1 week before my due date. This time I am stopping work 7 days before my due date (6 days before scheduled csection)

I'm in quebec and it's 70% for 25 weeks and the rest 55% but we also pay 15% tax and we get a nice chunk of our incomes taxed as well. Far greater than the rest of canada :-S
I have to work right up until this baby comes out, unfortunately as I get no paid time off. Its going to be difficult because its a job that requires I am on my feet all day but I cannot afford to take any time off.
Edd is 12/12 and my company has allowed me to work from home since I told them I was pregnant, which has been a blessing!.. I'll probably work up until a week prior, since i just sit all day. I also get ample leave being in CA.. First 6 weeks at 100% pay, then 60% up to 26 weeks, woohoo
I'm due 6th of December.. I'm not even sure what I'm allowed for maternity leave. I've spoke with HR but they didn't really say much other then they think it's 12 weeks. I plan on working for as long as I can but my concerns is having enough time to bond with my baby! And then finding child care while working and someone I can trust. So many thoughts running through my head and not sure what to do for the best. This is my first baby and not sure what to expect. Is two months long enough to bond with your baby before you go back to work? Idk!!

I really would like to work up until the day I deliver. We shall see. Unfortunately, I can't waste any of my time I have saved. Like others have said, I want to spend everyday I can with my little girl once she's here.
I'm planning on working until my due date 12/14, but willing to play that by ear.
I just agreed to teach my first college course this Fall to fill in as an emergency. I'm very excited for the opportunity, but finals end 12/12 so we will see! If I give birth before then I'll have a grad student fill in. If I'm too uncomfortable I'll take off from my main job earlier.
I'm also in CA so get time off beforehand (from State only, not employer), but I'll go crazy sitting around waiting for the baby to come! I'd rather be at work!
I'm due December 12 and will Be finishing work mid November. I'm a dental assistant and will not fit in my assistants chair by then and breathing is too hard bending over! I'm in Canada so I thankfully get leave for a year.
My EDD is 12/27 so I'm hoping to work until Christmas Eve. But I sit most of the day. I get 6 weeks partial pay and my company is so small I don't qualify for FMLA. Thankfully hunky hubby gets 20 days paternity at full pay! We're struggling with the thought of putting a 6 week old in day care, especially since so much of my pay will be eaten up by that cost. We are trying to decide if it's worth it...
I will working until I deliver. I have a desk job so hopefully it won't be too awful. I am thinking if it gets too bad they may let me work from home my last couple of weeks but I am going to try and tough it out.
I'm from the UK, we have better maternity pay here, so I'm making the most of it and I'm going off 4weeks before baby is due. (1week hol then 3weeks) That way I can make sure everything is sorted
My leave starts when I need it so hopefully I don't need it until the baby is popping out. Luckily I have a little of flexibility in that I can work from home to a degree, in the event that I am just plain unwell
