Confused to why my midwife has my dates off?

I find it odd that my midwife said to me that I was 11 weeks yesterday (9/3/14), but I have my due date as March 30 because I am a 31 day cycle girl and my LMP was June 20. She said this so quick and right as she was finding the heartbeat so I just brushed it off b/c I was more worried about that. Then I forgot to even mention it.

I know their are tons of questions on miscalculated due dates, but I am very certain about mine. Just don't know why she was off?! It kind of worries me because I am a VBAC and I don't want her trying to push me into anything because she says I'm further than I really am.

Does this sound odd to you or you think she just simply made a mistake that I should just double check next time, which I plan on doing anyway?

Not yet...I have an ultrasound on September 15 with a high-risk doctor because I had awful PPD/PPA last time and have decided to remain on my medication during this pregnancy. She wants me to have this ultrasound to double check everything. I'm sure they can give a very accurate date then.

She would have to go off of LMP until there is an ultrasound to confirm dates.. try to be patient! Easier said than done, I know. Hang in there!

I think her problem is that based on LMP her hcp is saying she's farther than she should be.

OP, my doc consults her wheel chart every single time I see her and tells me how far I am. If yours didn't get the wheel she may have just said the wrong week

I wouldn't stress about it too much at this point.

She miscalculated that too...

28 day cycle with LMP June 20 is March 27...March 30 with a 31 day cycle...she has me as March 25.

I can def wait until September 15 to clear it all up, just thought it was odd that she didn't even base it off a regular cycle.

Medical staff rarely have the right date until your first u/s. They have to go off of LMP, which makes it a 'best guess'.

That does sound confusing. The first ultrasound is supposed to give the most accurate EDD. My doc only changes it in my chart of it's 5 days in either direction from my EDD based on LMP. Hopefully you'll get a clear answer after your US!

Or she's using Nagle's rule, add 7 days to LMP and subtract 3 months= EDD. Cycle length and date of ovulation not included in that equation. This is also how the little wheel works.

And I'm having a similar issue with dates here, I ovulated early and it is screwing things up.

Midwife's will not push you into anything. I would not worry about it until you have a dating u/s.

She could have been rounding up, right? My due date is March 29 based on LMP and I'm 10w4d, so you're right near me. Sounds like you're only off by days which sounds like nbd to me.
