UPDATE! T&P for Emma during her surgery today!

UPDATE: Emma is out of surgery and resting comfortable. She did great in surgery and is such a strong little girl. She looks beautiful and we are very happy with her repair. We will spend tonight in the hospital and be released as soon as she is eating normally. She just ate 2oz so hopefully that is a good sign. Thank you all for all of the support!

So I know I've been MIA lately but i could really use some T&P today as Emma is having her lip repair surgery for her cleft lip. They just put her under and everything is going as expected so far. We can use all the positive energy we can get today!

Colton had his lip/nose repair last Tuesday at UC Davis. It was a very emotional experience and I was surprised at how much I mourned the loss of his old wide smile. It's been a week and I have fallen in love with his new face. Once she is able to be off the codeine and returns to her old personality you will feel so relieved. I have thoughts and prayers for you in this trying time. I try to keep in perspective that this is a pretty common condition and that the surgeons have it down to a science. I am so nervous for the palate surgery as that one is supposed to be the roughest. If you ever want someone to talk with or share experiences with you can put it in this thread and ill pm you. I am always on mobile so I don't know how to post photos but Emma's and Colton's cleft were pretty similar in their width so I can send some recovery photos if you are interested. Stay strong,the recovery period has actually been a little better than I thought but be prepared to be home alot and revert back to newborn sleep patterns.
