That sounds yummy! We are on our last morning at the lake abd are having French toast when everyone gets up. So excited!
Eli's ear has been draining a lot and he's working on some teeth so it's been not as awesome of a weekend as I was hoping for. Other ear tube moms, how much drainage would you say is normal before you start to worry or call the ENT? @casey78@lancomechica
Good morning! We are all moved into my moms after days of packing and moving. It was harder to leave my apartment than I thought. Hopefully we find a house soon! Liam has been a little cranky during the transition but his cousin came over and he felt better. The two of them are hilarious together.
Both kids were up coughing last night. L's nose is a runny green mess. Call into the dr so hopefully I can get these babes looked at and on track to being healthy.
Needless to say I need all the coffee today. ZzZzzzz
You guys made me want pancakes so I went to wprk. I've made them a ton before and these were a watery mess! Pancake fail. Now there is no time before work
Its 5am. Keenan's been up since 2. That's bad enough but we're also on vacation in a house with a total of 15 other of my family members so we're trying to keep him quiet. Luckily he's not terribly fussy, just wide awake. We also have to make the 3.5 hour drive home later today while DH is operating on 2 hours of sleep (so far) and I'm on like 3.5. DH just took Keenan on a drive, so hopefully that works, but our car was blocked in so I had to wake my uncle up to move his truck so I felt like a jerk.
Oh and a tire on our van has a bulge so we're gonna try to get it fixed today but most places are closed. We might have to head home and hope it doesn't pop. Oh and we had to cancel our credit card, we had a fraudulent charge on it yesterday. So this labor day can suck it. Back to try to get a few more hours of sleep.

watery pancakes -> have you tried to make Kaiserschmarrn out of them? Leave out the rum-soaked raisins. But they're essentially pieces of pancake. And are so, so yummy.
@ilovemyducks21 oh no! Sounds a bit like our situation. My kids have been up ob and off since 430 and there are 10 other people here. It'll be a long drive back for this tired mom! So sorry! Hopefully you can catch a quick nap and get that tire looked at. Bummer about the credit card too. ~O)
@kaylakim we have had no drainage since getting the tubes so no advice. I would just call and describe and see if they thing coming in is a good choice?
@kaylakim my nephew with tubes gets a lot of drainage. My sister has asked the pedi before and he said it was the tubes doing their job. But call if you are concerned.
Hello ladies!! I've been MIA for a while I miss you and I try to lurk a bit in my 'free' time...
I was on vacation and then I was overloaded with work (I still am) and then I had to travel to Czech for 6 days in a row and I barely survived without LO... btw, he was GREAT without me, like STTN great! Then I prepared for receiving guests from abroad and now they are in our house... I hate being so busy! I leave to Mexico next week and I haven't even thought about logistics (will I travel with or without luggage/baby carrier/stroller/umbrella strollet/etc...)!
DH feels ready to stay with LO if I'm out of town without help from MIL, which is great for our wallets because we don't have to fly her in next times :P I am going back there in October twice... I'm not sad about it, actually I kind of enjoy most of my alone time, it's just hard to go to sleep all alone in an empty hotel room, however waking up after a good night sleep is priceless :P
I think LO is self-weaning but I hope he doesn't do it entirely before our trip to Mexico because the boob is my only hope to survive the transatlantic flight by myself x.x I feel like I'm drying up but somehow he keeps getting some when we does try to BF (twice a day). He is happily drinking milk like if it there was no tomorrow though so I'm not worried about the intake but more about me drying up before the flights :S
I send coffee to the sleepy mamas and health dust for the sick babies!!!

Last night I tried to recreate the conditions in the hotel where Charlie slept so well. Put him down in the pack and play instead of the crib, unplugged his night light, an gave him the same blanket he had there.
Thanks you guys. You'd think I would know what to do with tubes since this is my fourth go around with them. He has been in good spirits but the drainage is getting worse so I'll prob call tomorrow I'd it's not better. I'm sure the tubes are just doing their job. Just to clarify, He hasn't been in the lake. Just playing at the water table filled with hose water.
I'm tired but will share my coffee with you, so here ~:> This weekend has been a bummer. We were looking forward to our plans with friends who cancelled on Saturday. I've gotten no work done, the condo is a pig sty, I feel swollen from chinese food/pizza/brownies a la mode and LO has been whining all weekend. Blah.
Edit: well you get chicken instead of coffee. Whatevs.
Mmmm maple syrup. Gonna make some pancakes too, damn you. Hope you sleepy ladies make it through the day! Sucks having to waste a holiday Monday getting up early.
I got woken up at 3:30 by some douchebag in a BMW parked out front blasting dance music in his car. I marched outside to yell at him and by the time I opened the door he was leaving. Then I was too revved up to fall asleep, and then DS woke at 4:30 crying so I was up with him.
Getting woken up MOTN by something that isn't my baby crying makes me stabby. Ooof!
Oliver had his first sleepover at his grandmas last night so DH and I could spend some time together. So hard to leave him. DH and I had dinner at a nice place and then got semi-matching tattoos with Oliver's name. Fun times.
Mmmmm, breakfast food. I made Scrapple this morning (anyone, anyone?) and it was delicious, Adeline ate an entire piece. I start school again tomorrow after my week off and that sucks, I have really enjoyed not having to devote A's entire nap times to homework! On the bright side, one of my classes this block is "Stress Management" and the textbook is, I kid you not, "The Art of Peace and Relaxation."

I was super excited about having a long weekend and an extra day off especially to clean the house however today I am just not feeling it.
AF has returned and she is angry! DH is at a friends house helping with a project so I think I will grab lunch and find something out of the house to do.
@maryannespier sounds like some of the advice my fil gives. The other day he was telling me how I need to "over feed" my three week old by both breast feeding her and giving her bottles before bed and then she'll sleep better. I was just like oh ok.
Made scrambled eggs, diced turkey, and cheese in a croissant for breakfast this morning (thank you to whoever suggested it!), and Mer gobbled it up. She is usually a three-bites-and-she's-done kind of girl, so it was awesome to see her actually enjoy her meal.
Today is the last day of the pool season, so we are meeting friends at the splash pad after nap time. It was a fun summer, but I am looking forward to fall play dates without all the extra laundry (ugh! The towels!).
We are biting the bullet and getting V his first hair cut today!! Pics to follow I got some critical school work done this morning. I am jazzed about that! I might be driving myself to and from Jacksonville,FL on Tuesday-Thursday. We shall see it's a long story.
Morning ladies. We are off to see the ILs for the day. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get LO in to see our new pedi as her food strike is getting worse and she is hardly eating at all. She's still having wet diapers so it's not ER worthy yet but I'm definitely an emotional wreck that my child is not doing well and no idea what's wrong with her...
On a lighter note, FFMC - as we were getting ready I notice my daughter chewing on my lunette cup which I had rinsed with soap and water but not sanitized (boiled) since AF was here...
DH has talked about taking nikita to the fair all summer. They have talked about which rides they would go on etc. Today...The last day of the fair and summer (for her, school starts tomorrow) he has decided not to go. His excuse " you guys had your rides at the mall of america". Needless to say she's upset and so am I as I get to pick up the pieces and try to make it up to her. He does things like this often and doesn't get why other get upset. He's kind of a hermit..so staying home a lot doesn't bother him.
Just dropped Allison off at my parents for a sleepover. Tuesdays is my moms day to watch her so just saves a step and let's my dad have some time with her.
Headed home and hope I get out of this "blah" mood by the time I get there because I have serious house cleaning to do. Have to take advantage of being baby free.
@blairwitch that stinks!! Hope you are able to make it better quickly.
I'm about to pee my pants. Ty was laying on the couch beside me napping and DH made me a rum and coke. I drank it and it really made me have to pee but i was too lazy to get up. Ty wakes up so I pick him up and he falls back asleep on me. Now I'm stuck in nap jail ready to pee!! Most uncomfortable feeling EVER!
My friend gave me a toddler tip. Toddlers like having choices, so instead of saying "you must hold my hand while walking" you say, "would you like to walk and hold my hand or would you sit in the stroller?" That way they still have some decision making power .
I applied it to diaper changes. Ben gets a choice of one of two toys to take with him to the changing table. We did four diaper changes at home today and he didn't fight me on any of them. Normally a diaper change is like wrestling with a bag of ferrets.
Home from the cottage. It would have been good if ILs weren't there. I think between them and stress of finding a job has given me an eye twitch. Apparently its selfish of me to think about this fulltime job. It is unfair to Alex to go to daycare. That I should just stay home like a good mom. [-X
P also seems to be a bottomless pit. It started when we were on vacation and has continued the past two weeks. We had tacos Friday night and I'm pretty sure he ate more than I did!
Re: pancakes with SPAMberries and maple syrup
We've really been working on using utensils. Ben spoonfed himself an entire container of yogurt.

In good news Alex took a couple of solo steps!
