Or have you already? I just put LO down for a nap without it for the first time and he seems to not even notice the difference. He is a little over 5 months so I really would like to stop using it since we room share.
My 3y/o and 18 m/o still use theirs. If we didn't have a 120 year old house whose floors creak with every step and echoes like a canyon, we probably wouldn't need them.
Both boys use white noise DS1 is almost 22 months and sleeps great with it. No wakeups for us at all. I have no plans on getting rid if the noise machines.
We stopped at about 2. 5 months. Mostly because I kept forgetting to put it on! She sleeps great at night but still only really catnaps during the day apart from one big sleep in the afternoon. But we live rural next to the beach so not a lot of noise at night and the surf acts as white noise I guess!

I'm actually going to start using a white noise machine. We were at the inlaws this weekend and noticed dd would go down easier and stayed asleep longer with an app we were using to drown out the other kid's noise.
I have fans in both kids rooms now. I'll probably stop when it gets too cold and being them out again next summer, unless the kids really need them still
Never really thought about it before. I like that it blocks out the constant slamming of doors that goes on around my house. Don't plan on stopping any time soon.
If it's bothering you guys and he doesn't seem to notice, I'd get rid of it. My kids still use theirs and I like that it helps drown out the creepy noises the house can make in the middle of the night like the fridge dropping ice or things creaking and of course us if we stay up late!

I'm not sure Liam really needs it, but it's MY go to when he wakes up... I turn the sleep sheep on and either give him his pacifier or nurse him. With hard wood floors throughout the house, it's nice to cover all the squeaking and what not.
ETA - if we so stop using white noise, it'll be "replaced" with music. I always went to sleep listening to music, SS goes to sleep listening to music and when DH is traveling I need some noise in the background. There are WAY worse things.

We actually JUST purchased a sound machine for white noise ! At a b-day party this weekend I put LO down in our friends LOs crib and used their machine... He took a 2 hr nap for the first time EVER !
We don't use anything for DS2, but we had to start around 6 months with DS1 since he would wake up just from flushing the toilets. He's almost 2 and we still use it. DS2 is moving into his room soon, so will have it then as well.

I have a 168 year old house with creaky floors, a German Shepard that alert barks, and a noisy cat. She can sleep through it all.
We never used white noise or were extra quiet around LO so it's what she is used to.
But I always liked sleeping with a fan in college and I don't think there is anything wrong with it or that its a nasty habit you need to break.
