Pillow opinions plz

I've been browsing on amazon for a pregnancy pillow. My sister had the back nd belly pillow and swears by it but I also see the snoogles seem popular. Have you ladies tried any? I'm a back pain sufferer and back labor is my main issue when delivering so I need something that can help keep that in line and in good posture if possible. Sorry for the silly ? But I don't have many mama friends to ask.
Thanks in advance ladies. Have a great Labor Day holiday.

Re: Pillow opinions plz

  • I have a snoogle and like it, but I switch side to side in bed a lot and it's annoying to have to keep flipping this huge snoogle and manage between DH and the dogs

  • I used the Boppy Pregnancy pillow with DS, and it was comfortable without taking up the entire bed.

  • I have 2 normal down pillows for my head, a regular body pillow, and a snoogle. What can I say I just love me a lot of pillows!! I use them all at different times, for different needs as I get bigger and bigger. I recommend getting all kinds and just trying to see what works best for you at each stage.
  • I love the snoogle. Didn't think I would but I love that I can position myself several ways and still be comfortable.

  • I still use my snoogle drom my first pregnancy 4.5 years ago. I do love it, but have just been SO uncomfortable this time around that nothing completely helps (except maybe that prenatal massage I've been hinting to my husband) ;)
  • Thank you ladies! I was having a hard time spending $80 on the butt n belly pillow when this will be my last one and I have other places I could better spend my $$! I'll just get some body pillows and see if they work!! If not, I'll upgrade to a snoogle! Thanks so much!

  • I bought a maternity pillow made by boppy. It's small and kidney shaped and does the job just fine.  I got mine at destination maternity and don't think I spent more tan $30 on it.  That was back in 2011, though.

  • I used the boppy last time & loved it. But i tend to switch sides & it is kind of a pain. Haven't used it yet this time. I have been freaking out lately because I keep waking up on my back & doc said not to sleep on your back because of loss of blood flow to the uterus. I have so many friends that have never heard that, anyone's else's doc mention that? I miss sleeping on my back:(
  • I got a regular body pillow from Amazon. I will put regular pillows behind my back when it comes time to need that support. I didn't care to spend a lot of money. Of course, I don't have a belly yet so I have no idea if the regular pillow will be sufficient as I grow.
  • Snoogle!

I saw a pillow designed for side switchers....looks like the snoogie is but horse shoe shaped so you can easily switch and not have to flip the damn thing. Must take up a ton of bed space though

I am pretty sure the sleeping on your back only comes into play when the baby is bigger. It is caused from all of the pressure on your aorta which will decrease your blood pressure.
  • That's what I thought too, but when I asked the doctor when to stop sleeping on my back at my first apt she said now. I was only 8 weeks, it doesn't make Ang sense to me though.
  • Another vote for the Boppy pregnancy pillow!

  • I'm currently curled up in my snoogle and it's fantastic. The only problem I have is convincing my boxer to stay off of it.
  • I just bought the fancy 3 peice adjustable boppy pillow at Target. It's on sale for 49 dollars. I like that it's adustable so I can accomodate for my height. The last thing I need is a pillow giving me a vag weggie and kinking my neck.

  • I just bought the 3 piece nippy and I wish I would have bought something else. It is way too soft for my liking.
  • I have the Boppy body pillow and I love it.

  • The Boppy pregnancy pillow was gifted to me. I love that comes in three parts so I can pick and choose the parts where I need support.

I have this one too. It works perfect for me, but my major pain is in my hips, which is what it helps support the most. When my back was bothering me I just stuck a second pillow behind my back. I couldn't imagine trying to rearrange one of those huge pillows every time I roll over.
  • Ok I'm a newb with this stuff- why a different pillow for pregnancy? Is it just comfort or is there a reason? I've had no problems with my normal pillow..
It helps to have a pillow between your knees to keep your hips aligned, and a pillow under your belly (when it's bigger) for support - so I hear.

  • The bump nest pillow is the best--SO comfy. I bought mine online through Nordstrom.
