I'm due 12/21 and my shower is set for Oct 25th. My MIL is hosting and it'll be at the local boat club.

I was due December 29th when I decided the date for the baby shower should be October 4th. I am having it at a neighborhood recreation center ($20/hr) great deal. My due date moved up to December 22nd this week but that hasn't changed our minds about the baby shower date.

I don't see why OP shouldn't be able to enjoy her baby with a baby shower regardless of her money situation - she'll probably receive a lot more gifts than money she spends and it's not like it's expensive to host a BBQ in a park.

Anyway, we were going to have a baby shower in November (EDD 12/31), but that got all screwed up because of baby stuff randomly deciding to change my boyfriend's leave. Now it doesn't look like I get one, which sucks a lot. I was really looking forward to it :-(

My sister is throwing mine October 25, I am due December 4th. I am grateful to have my sister to throw it, I don't think it is tacky at all to host/co host your own shower. There are many circumstances that would make it almost easier for you to throw it yourself. I am. Though very happy all I have to provide is addresses and when I wanted it.

EDD 12/9. Mom/sister throwing a shower 11/8. MIL/step mom throwing a co-ed shower 10/18. Step MIL throwing one in another state (apparently we'll be traveling) sometime after baby is born because it's Jewish tradition to not celebrate the baby prior to birth.

Two weeks ago I thought no one was throwing one. Be careful what you wish for.

MY EDD is December 13, 2014. My shower will be on Saturday November 1, 2014. I like the fact that it's the day after Halloween

. I'm having it in my apartment complex. We have a hall that can be rented out to anyone who lives in the complex. I booked it for Nov 1st!! I'm so excited. My registry is already done. I have a hospital tour coming up on September 5th!!! I am literally counting down the days until my shower, and after my shower I will be counting down the days to my delivery date. My husband and I are very excited!!!! I'm already thinking about my hospital bag. It might be a little early for that, but I'm getting one prepared very soon lol
