In high school my boyfriend came over one Sunday morning and when we thought my mom had left for church, we started DTD. She heard a noise down that hall and walked in on us. She said she thought I was "having an asthma attack."

I am not the only one with this confession today. I forgot to pack underwear for after swim class so I had to go commando. NBD but in shorts it is weird. DH also went to swim class with me and sat in the lobby. A lady came up to sit with her friend near DH and told her friend that she forgot underwear today.

I think the tone and the context convey that she doesn't understand the seriousness of what she did.

I'm not sure about state vs. federal laws but in Maine anything greater than a 5 year age difference where 1 party is under 18 and 1 is 18 or older, it is consider rape.

I'm not saying this to pile on Andrea. I'm sure she's not this big, bad sinister sex offender. But this is a big deal and as a sexual abuse/rape survivor, a sensitive subject.

I agree. I was the first to say he was too young at the time. I just don't want to burn her at the stake for it. If she was 19 and it was her sisters friend then we know for sure her sister is 5years younger. What if he was 16? Then again what if he was 14? I just don't think we know enough.

Of course. I thought my point was obvious that there are factors we don't know and his actual age is one of them. By law it may not have been statutory rape.
