At what age do kids learn empathy....?
Well I know that Eliza feels bad a lot of time if she makes a mistake or spills something. Empathy though I don't know. She sometimes says that she's sorry if I don't feel well. So maybe by five. I hope.
I just had a crying meltdown in the bathroom at Target. My three year old has been a holy terror lately and my buttons had all been pushed. I don't know why that store brings out the worst in my kids but wow. I was ' that ' mom with the screaming, kicking kid at Target. She promised me she would stay near the cart abd just wanted to walk instead of being buckled in. I warned her that if she tried to wander off or grab things off the shelf that she would need to be buckled in. Well surprise surprise she keeps wandering off so I had to put her in the cart abd you would think I was beating her the way she was screaming. How embarrassing. I'm just so at my wits end with her lately.
Oh my gosh Kayla. So much yes on the threenagers. They are hard. So independent but not really ready for it yet. And not so great with expressing their feelings yet. They try so hard to be big kids but can't understand the raging emotions they feel.
At the same time though they are so fun and sweet and imaginative at this age.
Great appointment. More to follow after I feed my kid some more butter.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

And thanks everyone. Three is so hard! My oldest abd I really struggled abd now that she's six it's finally so so so much better! I'm just freaking out that life will probably be so crazy for the next 5+years until they are all out of this stage! If I weren't driving two hours to the lake soon I'd be opening a bottle of wine. I'll be cracking it open promptly after arriving tonight!

It's from those "newspapers" claiming that alien corpses washed up on a beach or that Elvis is still alive. When I pointed out the lack of credibility, said fb friend got kinda rude with me and informed me that we would just see who was right. Ummmm ok..... 8-}

Took S to the Dr. just for peace of mind before the long weekend. Thought the cough sounded nasty. Well what do you know walking pneumonia. Guess it is a blessing he is in such good spirits. He's a tough kid.
Si fell asleep on the way to the gate, I secured an open seat, and he stayed asleep while I boarded and got settled! Now I'm enjoying my BK burger while he snoozes!

I am trying to sleep but decided I needed to catch up a bit. Just got through yesterday's spam (still today for me). @valstulas I'm glad I'm not the only one that feeds my son donuts ) he's adorable. @chiboo9 I saw you ask about the 4ever. I have it and I love it. I bought it last month after DS's 1st bday. I'm so glad I waited. It fits great in our small car, it looks and feels great and DS really likes it. It is so much easier to get him in. It pretty much comes ready out of the box so it was easy to install.
And BTW the neighbors dog just bit me twice on the way home from the park. Asshole dog and asshole neighbor who doesn't have the dog on a leash! Luckily, the dog is medium sized and I had jeans on. I acted like I wasn't scared and talked to it until it went away. Kind of scared me, though!
Haddock likes to carry my handbags around the house. It has to have my stuff in it though or otherwise it's not cool. He looks so funny with a bag slung over his shoulder.
Just gor done with after hours peds office. Double ear infection and slight conjunctivitus! Poor guy! ( And I had to miss dinner and drinks with @simone711 & @melissa4637
My husband went to the salon today before my appointment and paid for my haircut and brow wax. I had no idea until I whipped out my credit card and the stylist was like, "it's already taken care of". He wins the day. :x
Secondly, there are 2 squad cars sitting outside my house, just chillin. I live in a very small, very safe town, but Im loving the police presence. Makes me feel extra safe. No better deterrent for hoodlums than the Po Po in plain sight.
