layering clothes

DD isn't wearing onesies anymore now that she's is in the process of PTing.  I used to always layer her with a long sleeve onesie in the winter to keep warm.  It gets pretty cold in upstate NY.  What do you layer with once the onesie phase is over.  I just bought some cotton tank tops off of OshKosh but I was looking for something that was long sleeves.  Do you just layer 2 playshirts together?  In particular, is there anything thicker or thermal that you have found?

Re: layering clothes

  • I like jackets/sweaters so I usually layer a long-sleeved shirt and a cardigan or a zip up hoodie. My kids aren't outside for long periods so I don't worry about it too much.

  • Like @beebopandbuddy, I tend to do a long-sleeved shirt under a sweater.

  • I do long sleeve tees or undershirts under tee shirts or dresses. Otherwise, there is a sweater or sweatshirt on top.

I have boys and I love the look of a button up under a t-shirt. Otherwise, I do a plain or striped fitted long sleeve under a t-shirt and a hoodie/cardi on top. We are in the south so I like to do layers because it is usually cold in the morning and warmer in the afternoon so I want to give daycare options since they do morning and afternoon recess.
