I think public places should enforce some attire standards. Twice last week I went somewhere and was disgusted by some things I saw. First, this chick was wearing these itty bitty shorts. I mean, tiny. Like, I have longer underwear than those shorts. At a separate place, this guy's pants were so low that his underwear was the only thing on the seat, in an eating establishment. It's not even just about the way it looks, but for me, it's a hygiene issue.
I don't get when adults make a huge deal out of their birthdays. I get milestones and big ones, but why do you need some all out, crazy expensive celebration every year? Can you think of nothing better to spend your money on? Ugh, and the ones who pout because it wasn't good/big enough...
::putting on flamesuit:: The last bedsharing thread bothered me. I am concerned about all these babes being left in beds, even if the parent is in the room getting ready. Maybe my kid is super fast but he would be on the floor in a split second if he wanted to move around. Bed sharing freaks me out and aside from @jennlin I didn't think anyone was following proper safety protocol in that thread. So my UO is bed sharing scares me. Oh and this may be a post and run because my boss will be here soon and I have to work.
. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but I've never seen or read anything that states "in order to safely bed share or co-sleep you must have an extra mattress in your room." Many of the women, myself included, said we never leave our children alone on the bed. I thought THAT was proper protocol.

Alot of people said things like they "try" to get ready mostly in the room. To me even being in the room is not safe enough. Leaving them in the bed alone at all is concerning to me, unless there is some floor protection. Maybe I over generalized because I only read a few responses but I do recall alot of people saying they just get ready in the room.
Yeah, but how big is your room? I am never an arms length away from my baby. I didn't think being in the same room meant they were alone.
This isn't really an UO, but I need to vent. I am starting to regret renovating our kitchen. The old kitchen was ugly, but was fully functional, besides our dishwasher, which started this whole thing. I have so much to do before going back to work on Tuesday that I spent half the night awake and stressed out. I am spending the last weekend of summer painting. If one more thing goes wrong, I am going to lose my shit. Ok, done. Thanks for listening.
It bugs me when people paint a room, and just paint right over the electrical outlets and outlet covers. I think it looks gross, and the plastic should remain the color that they were when you bought them.
I couldn't imagine bed sharing with DD. I get nervous at night when she hangs out in the bed with DH. She moves so quickly and loves throwing herself around the bed.

i hear you. i feel like i havent been able to breathe this week. i feel like all my decisions are wrong, and it is not looking like how i imagined in my head. but just give it until it is done! i am sure it will turn out great #ihopeoriamburningmyhousedown

The guy was supposed to install the appliances between 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. this morning. It is now 10:22, and still no sign of him. If he doesn't come today I am going to do some serious ugly crying.
So my OU is that we LOVE bedsharing. In the morning he isn't left in the bed, when he gets up, I get up. If on some crazy morning he isn't awake before me, he gets transferred to a pack and play. He isn't left on the bed while I get ready in the morning.
Did anyone see the news story about the airplane that had to land and kick off some passengers because of a dispute over a woman wanting to recline her seat?
My UO, people who recline seats on airplanes are selfish jerks. It's not like the 2 inches will give the person in the seat much more comfort anyway but it sure does impact the person behind them who gets 2 less inches of space because of it. It's so rude!

Oh I disagree! I have horrible motion sickness and the recline of the seat really does make a big difference to help me sleep, thus avoid puking all over. Maybe that's mine--I don't have a problem reclining an airplane seat to get as comfy as I can to feel less shitty.
It bugs me when people paint a room, and just paint right over the electrical outlets and outlet covers. I think it looks gross, and the plastic should remain the color that they were when you bought them.
DUDE. SERIOUSLY. It's improper painting and just lazy.
i don't know if this is an UO or FFFC butttt seems like it could get heated....it is a major red flag to me when a woman says they are only friends
with males bc they don't get along with women, they don't talk to their family, and/or they hate ALL their ILs
men and women can't be friends. remember sooner's ladder theory?

Ive never understood how anyone can try and dictate what is and is not ok for another to spend their money on. I also love celebrating every birthday and if we have enough money to make a vacation out of it we do, if not I have no problem shelling out the money to throw a party for all my friends to celebrate too. I think my memories from these vacations and parties is some of my best spent money.

I could never bedshare at this stage. DS is so mobile now he would crawl off the bed in a heart beat. I would need to sleep in a king size crib to feel safe.

Bed sharing is a bad idea. Kids get used to it, and then you are stuck with a child in your bed FOREVER. Ask my nanny. Not to mention, dead, suffocated babies I've seen in the ER. (Sorry about the graphics, but it's true.)
You cannot dictate what people wear. Sorry. It's still a free country. How is seeing a nipple through a top any different then a woman getting ready to feed her child? It's not.
Maybe I'm extra salty today because the "assistant manager" is mad at me because I called him out on inappropriate behavior in the office and now he has blocked FB!!!! Grrrr. Come at me asshole.

I understand what you mean and I agree to a certain extent because some people go a tad overboard. However, it's their birthday and if they want to throw a party & people want to celebrate with them, have at it!
Joey was born on my birthday. I was in labor all day, so this year I plan on getting together with my closest friends and having a fun celebration! Obviously it won't be on my birthday cause that's all about Joey now, but I plan on going out & celebrating two birthdays this year!!
It bugs me when people paint a room, and just paint right over the electrical outlets and outlet covers. I think it looks gross, and the plastic should remain the color that they were when you bought them.

YES!!!!!!!! We bought a house a couple years ago and knew some of the windows were painted shut. We could at least open one window in each room for safety. Tried to pry open the others and found out they were painted shut on the outside as well!
Still haven't gotten all of them to open and the paint job inside and out was done sub par. Definitely something we'll be looking at when we buy our next home.
I guess I really don't care about what other people do as long as they don't sit in their house with the lights off, unless it's to hide their painted outlets.
OMG speaking of toilets... I'm so used to the toilet seats that go down slowly and don't slam, that I expect everyone to have them. Why doesn't everyone have them?
Eta: @baconface they should get said toilet seats for their fancy toilet.
Ooh also, I hate toilets that have the push button to flush it. My in-laws are re-doing their bathroom and were like, "We are thinking of maybe getting a slightly fancier toilet, like maybe one with a flush button instead of a handle."
My objections were threefold (I did not say this out loud):
1) Why are you spending extra money on a fancy toilet? Unless it wipes your ass for you, what is the point exactly?
2) Why is a button fancier than a handle exactly? I don't get it.
3) Buttons on toilets are ANNOYING. They take more effort to push in.
The first time I saw the button flusher was when my mom moved into her current house. It was sooo weird and I was clueless. I was like, "is this permanent?"

That seems a bit extreme. Buy yourself a box cutter and a ladder. Problem solved.
I have painted over the light switch covers and outlet covers in my house, but only b/c they were the original 1966 almond colored covers, they were all FILTHY and stained and I hate them, and I painted all the trim out bright white so they didn't match anyway. I plan to replace them all in the future, so I wasted no time removing them and painting around them.
With this birthday talk...A BIRTHDAY WEEK? What kind of person is this? Most years people have forgotten my birthday lollll (I'm crying on the inside...jk, i'm dead). I'm really serious though like the only one who remembers is my mom and I receive minimal happy haps (but thank jeeve's for FB or I don't know what I would do! eat cake alone). What I'm trying to say is there isn't much celebration over her.
OK JUST THOUGHT OF UO: I hate subwoofers. Maybe I just hate people who think it's okay to use them in a residential neighborhood. Maybe I just hate my downstairs neighbor (most likely). HEY MAN, NICE BASS. THANKS FOR MAKING ME THINK THERE IS AN EARTHQUAKE. Now kindly drive your car off the nearest bridge.
I don't like people knowing my birthday. Obviously family and a few close friends know, but I hide it on facebook and only one of my in-laws knows it.
I don't want a party and I don't want to go out to eat dinner. You know what a great birthday to me is? Sleeping in late, having DH drop LO off at daycare, eating at Panera Bread for lunch by myself, and playing the Sims all day long. Leave me alone on my birthday.

You're missing cake. You have to have cake on your birthday. It is known.
lol, just remembered i didn't get a cake last year. womp womp.
@Amjoy25 - You know I love you but I bedshared with DD...she sleeps in her own bed just fine.
I get it...bed sharing isn't for everyone but it works for us.
Well, you need to teach my nanny your ways. She can't get her kid out of her bed.
I think we have done the motorcycle debate before, but IDGAF.
I FUCKING HATE MOTORCYCLES.
There is ONE rental house on our whole street. It is a super quiet residential street full of families and elderly couples, 5 blocks from an elementary school. Kids and dogs regularly play in the street, as there's no reason to drive down it unless you live on the street. The rental house recently got turned over to a new group of people. They immediately put 6 lawn chairs in the front yard and one of those plastic yard signs (similar to an election sign) that says "Look out for motorcycles". This dude fires up his motorcycle EVERY GODDAMN MORNING at 6:30. EVEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. IDK what the fuck he does, or where he goes, but he revs it loudly, burns out, is gone for maybe 20-30 min and returns, engine roaring. IDK if he goes to get a coffee or what in the actual fuck. I want to sneak over to his house and break that fucking sign in half and slash his tires. sl;dkfjasldkfjasldkfjasdlfkjadslfkjdlfjRAAAAAAGE

---------------------------- When you have over 20 3'x6' windows and they all have storm windows it's a PITA. You have to work on freeing the inside and outside paint. Added bonus is that the sliding section to move the window up and down is caked with old paint. So yeah...wanna come help me??

I did forget that. DH gets me cake or some other dessert. He also usually brings home dinner.
