    I am positive if you search this thread for "increasing milk supply" you will find a bunch of stuff. I know we have discussed it at length, but here are links to kellymom that may help too:

    I would call a lactation consultant too if you're super worried about it.

  • @Cherylwang - I am in the exact same situation.  LO is 3 months today and she has been wanting more milk than I've been producing.  Luckily I have a freezer stash but I'm burning through that quickly.  Besides the normal oatmeal, fenugreek, etc., I've found that drinking Gatorade increases my supply.  Not sure why but it seems to work!  Good luck!

  • They go through another growth spurt at 12 weeks. So I think I would nurse then try to pacify and the nurse again a hour later.

    I also thought sleeping would get better at 3 months!  This baby thing is hard.

  • @fsumom- congrats!  That's awesome!  How did you get him to become more efficient?  DD is such a lazy nurser.

    @flojo973

    DS was also a lazy nurser.  He lost 15oz and so I had to introduce the bottle to get him to eat and gain weight as he would constantly nurse and not get much.  He would also fall asleep and it was near impossible to wake him up.  I believe he was almost 5 weeks old when he got back up to his birth weight.  In the beginning I was nursing, pumping and bottle feeding which is quite exhausting.  I then decided to drop nursing except for night feeds.  After a couple of weeks of not nursing in the day, I started nursing again and could tell a difference in his latch.  Last Monday I finally decided I was going to try and nurse him the next day without a bottle at all.  Sure enough, it seemed to work.  We have gone 6 full days without a bottle and his diaper output looks good and he seems content and satisfied after nursing.  I have to admit that there were times when I wanted to give up and thought I'd just exclusively pump for as long as I could but I was also okay with that as I'm just glad that I was able to pump enough.

    How's it going with Emma?

  • Not sure if this will work for you bc you said she seemed to choke but my LO did this last week and the answer for is was to go to a medium flow nipple. Also i slept with a blanket and whoever was feeding her to bottle snuggled her in the blanket. Good luck.
  • My girls are now refusing the boobs and only want bottles :( We use slow flow nipples and I've done all the things I can to get them interested again... but they're smart and realize bottles = faster than bewbs. Gah.

    Do you do paced bottle feeding for your LOs? It's supposed to help keep BF babies from developing a preference for bottles. We've been doing this since I went back to work and we haven't had any issues yet. Here's some more info on it:
