Unplanned doct visit

Since about 12 wks pregnant I had issue peeing at night. Then monday I was having cramping and pain and felt like I had to pee all time and only a little came out. So this am I woke up to a burning when peeing. So I called doctor. Nurse called back said prob uti to go to lab for urine test and she would call in antib. So 45 min drive later get to their lab its closed for lunch. Thanks for the forewarning. Agh so I walked to end of plaza where actually doct office is. Explained I just had drove 45 with no warning lab would be closed. They said they would just take sample there. So off headed to restroom with my 2 and 4 yr old boys. Low and behold I couldn't pee even though I knew my bladder was full as within that hour I had drank two full bottles of water. And my bladder hurt. So I got lucky and caught the NP walking down hall. She sent me to room. About 30mins later rthey did ultrasound my uterus is pinching by bladder. They finally drained my bladder by cathather. And did second ultrasound. Hmmm doct is stumped as this usually only haps with c sections and all my deliveries were vag. So now I'm on antib and told if it haps again call immediately and they may sens me to a uriologist because they just are clueless. Thanks doct forsetting my mind at ease after sitting in your office with two impatient boys for 3hrs. Not!!!! Any one been through this ?I am 14 wks currently.

    I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Hopefully it was just a fluke, and it won't happen again.

    I have never heard of a uterus pinching a bladder. But it makes sense with the symptoms mirroring a UTI. I hope you feel better soon!

    Thanks. I'm hoping it was one time thing but since uterus was still pinching bladder after they emptied it I'm a lil worried. Well b keeping my fingers crossed. Was also hoping this would be a quiet no issue pregnancy as its my last.

    I'm lurking from january15. Due btw jan 30 and feb 1 depending how you calculate. It's my third. I didn't have this exact issue but I did feel like I had difficulty emptying my bladder and pain when I was going. Not external but like my bladder was actually hurting. A lot. I would start and stop because it hurt so much. It lasted a couple weeks and then completely went away. I figured it stopped once my uterus was further out of my pelvis. Hopefully it will be a one time thing for you!
