Thanks @EagleWife. Actually DD loved it. Probably because of the vibration. Same thing as her vibrating toothbrush.
Cutest thing happened yesterday at the store. DD was in the cart and a little girl about 4 was in a cart with her dad. She sees DD AMD puts her hands on her cheeks and exclaims, 'oh my gosh she is so beautiful. Oh my she is so pretty'. She kept going on. It was the cutest thing. DD looked like crap. Her nose was running and her cheeks were all red. But it was the sweetest thing I have ever heard someone say regarding DD.
With that happening I now believe that people don't see her as having Ds but just a cute little girl. If someone has been trained or work with special needs they do see it but they still have something nice to say. An older lady yesterday called her features angelic. So I hope that my fears of kids making fun of her later on in like are unfounded.
@haddocky@econmama@mermomo5@saphires I am not super close with her. They live two hours from us, so it would be hard to take the kids for a night. I keep offering to do stuff with her and the kids when she is down visiting him at his parents (only about 15 mins from us), but she doesn't let me know when she is coming.
I can only imagine how hard it is, but I just worry about her health. Her family lives another two hours away from them, so no close family around. I know its not just a one time deal, because my friend is tempted to buy another house before they sell their house, just to move her closer because she says she just can't deal. I just wish there was something I could do to give her a hand.
@Butternut87 #6 is not out of the question but kind of put on hold.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
@gutsymama, such cute pics of Luke My DS1 loves taking this soft bronzer brush I have and putting it on his face, lol
@new2011mommy, so sorry your DH has to travel. It is tough to travel, and both DH and I do it a fair amount--it's hard to be the one to go, and to be the one to stay! I hope your DH is able to find something new soon.
@lizabethann06, adorable pics of Brynne love her costume!!
I have no meetings or conference calls today so I am looking forward to catching up on work and taking a long lunch to go get a massage...!
I just spent the last hour cleaning raspberry seeds out of our completely clogged G-tube connector tubing (because I'm a big dummy). While holding a squirming toddler. There may or may not be raspberry smoothie on our ceiling. @-)

@missymr you're sad because your baby is growing up and that's always a little hard. It's like you want them to be okay and be independent but then when they are showing a bit of it it's like you see everything coming down the pike like school, friends, sports, dating, car, college, moving out, married, etc. Bah!!! Now I'm going to cry.
I don't have much except that my four year old nephew is telling people his mom has a baby in her tummy and will have a baby around his birthday. Which is next spring. The family has no idea if it's true. I guess if it is then we all find out because of him. I have thoughts on this.
I'm not really a mom sleep ninja but I carry the video monitor around the house with me when I'm home alone with LO, naps & night times.
Also speaking of ninjas...my son just eyed me from behind his toy box. Then he rolled onto his back and on his stomach again. And army crawled out of the room carrying his toy. So there's that.
So I have this no sharing drink/food rule based off of previous history with the kids. Anything we are going to share gets divided before anyone eats/drinks from it. DH broke this rule repeatedly this weekend - at one point feeding all 3 kids from the same shake he was drinking. Then offered some of mine. I looked right at him and said,"you are OOT this weekend, you better hope they do not get sick.". All 4 of us have runny noses, sore throats, and sneezing. Darn it, DH! Since I texted him we were all sick he has been conveniently unavailable. /:)
I'm probably seeing this with mommy-goggles, but Pickle and I were drawing yesterday with crayons and she made really interesting and varied marks I didn't think she was capable of. I'd be so excited to have a little artist to create with! I minored in art in college and I miss it so much so it was lots of fun.
I've been MIA for a while during our vacation last week and a busy last few days getting back into the swing of things. Trying to catch up on everything. Did I miss anything good? @maryannespier is back!
I'm a ninja mommy but for different reasons. We have a video monitor so I don't have to go into the room to look at the kids. But sometimes I sneak in after bedtime to grab their hampers if I want to do laundry, or grab something out of their closets, etc. I definitely duck if I think they are stirring and might see me!
After the break last week the kids had their first day of the fall semester yesterday which is when our DC moves up classes. So Lillie is in the toddler class now and Jamey is in the 3's. Unfortunately Jamey has been sick the past 2 days so he's missing getting acclimated in his new class with all of his friends. It's nice that all the kids move up together, I'm just sad he's not getting to be there for it. DH is taking him to the dr this morning to figure out what's going on.
I had a job interview yesterday! It's for a position at the university where I currently work, but it's in a different area, very different responsibilities, and about $500 more a month than I'm currently making. They want to make a decision quickly and said they'd do that by the end of the day today. I am so anxious to hear back!
@lizabethann06 I think Brynne and Lillie are going to Halloween twins because we are planning on getting the owl costume too. I saw it at Carters. So freaking cute!
Big brother James 6-19-11 **** Little sister Lillianna 6-26-13
Good morning! It's a coffee morning for sure.... Amanda was up until 2:30 then up at 5:30. And I had to sleep on the couch because DH smelled like rotting onions. Or something did. I'm blaming it on him, though.
I'm a night time ninja. We always check on the kids before we go to bed. It is challenging. Our house is 60+ years old, so it's super squeaky. We've learned to avoid the squeaky spots. That's ninja-ing at it's finest.
I go into the kids rooms all of the time while they're sleeping. They're pretty deep sleepers though. I can even kiss cheeks or rub butts. Honestly, waking them up if I need to is a chore.
@EagleWife we are definitely going to either Skype or FaceTime so he can see the kids. Oh unless DD decides to wipe lots of food in her hair, I do baths every other night. Every night is too much
The only time I've snuck into LO's room when he was asleep was when the video monitor froze up. So I went in there to to unplug it and plug it back in. Otherwise I never go in when he's asleep for fear of waking him. Seeing him on the monitor is good enough for me!
I used my pump last night for the first time in a few months. I still nurse DS before bed and in the morning, but last night he totally refused. He was overly tired and he has a tooth coming in so I wasn't sure if that's why he was refusing or if he's over nursing before bed. I pumped for my own comfort, but if he refuses again tonight I guess I'll just go without pumping. Boo.
@ashie624 - we did that for soo long, then she started catching us! After two nights in a row of her waking up and crying, we weaned ourselves off of our midnight peek ins. ( It's just not worth disturbing her and for some darn reason, she KNOWS when we enter the room. I have a ninja baby.
@squirmworms - it's definitely tricky. On the best times, I would prop her on the couch with a pillow behind her so she could lean back and still be elevated. I put something exciting in her hands (book or toy) and put a movie on for a few minutes and sometimes she would just sit there and watch while we suctioned. But the majority of the time she was a very unhappy baby until we finished the suction.
We used baby saline spray in each nostril before suction (unless her nose was a total faucet, then you don't need to do that). It can help thin the mucous and make it easier to remove. I think @ChrissieMeas (and I know there were others, but I forget who) worked out a leg lock process so they could to it when they were on their own, but for us it was mostly a 2 person job. Good luck! And definitely rinse all the parts as quickly after the suction as possible. If you forget, you get a nasty science esperiment in there. :x
@gutsymama - I'm so glad to hear that you guys are happy with the switch (yesterday's spam). And omg, those pictures are SO CUTE.Look at the dexterity (and proper use of a brush!) :x
@new2011mommy - that is awful I'm sorry they pulled a bait and switch on you guys. Hopefully your H can find a new job that works better for your schedules. Can you guys skype or facetime while he's away? Let the messes pile up And there are many weeks we still only do 2 or 3 baths.
@ilovemyducks21 - Woah, draft ran 2 hours over?! Yeah, next time, shoo everyone OUT. Baby and mama need to sleep! I'm glad that he took bedtime, at least
@Clyde013 - I hope you feel better soon! Kudos to your for powering through. I saw your post yesterday about how you felt badly for rushing through a lecture and wanted to remind you that most of the students were probably grateful that it was over earlier! (I'm not sure if that helps, but remembering from the lecturee side.) I would usually ask the prof next class if there was something I missed or didn't get. Don't beat yourself up.
@maryannespier - bad moms don't wonder if they are bad moms. You are a great mom! And what ratio of G's sleep time was actually ON you over this past year? I'm glad you are getting more sleep these days! Hugs. @econmama is right - they know how to find us.
@Stacey099 - if it's not the door, it's the ninja senses. "Mommy's here! WAKE UP!" :P
@saphires - I need quiet morning time before she wakes up, too. I'm just finishing my coffee and oatmeal and bumping while she finishes up her sleep. I feel like a more whole person if I can have a cup of coffee in quiet before we start another day. Hope the early wakeup doesn't throw your day off too much.
@kaylakim Hiiii! sorry about your toes. That's no fun at all.
@valstulas - good luck today with the case manager!
@maryannespier - our little wiggle worm loves her chair and it uses an amazing amount of energy up when she climbs off and on it again and also you can get them for much less at uglysofa.com. They also run FB sales around holidays to save even more.
Hi @COmama1314 - Hope you are having a good day. Big hugs.
@amparo1981 - woohoo for 2.5 hr naps!! Can your Little one host some sessions on long naps for ours?
I hope I didn't miss anyone, but if I did, I'll LT you later.
Yesterday I actually got up over 10,300 steps with my fitbit. This is pretty exciting for me, since there were so many days that never even got to 4k steps!
Happy Tuesday, Ladies! ~:> ~O) Kick some butt and take some names out there!
@Eaglewife Sully thinks the nosefrieda is hilarious now (it tickles?) Now I just have to say "give me your nose" and he will hold still then giggle when I suck the boogers out. It's adorable. Complete 180 from what we had to do before!
Speaking of boogers this cold is kicking my @$$. Finally peeled my butt off the couch and came into work for a half day today. I'm so dizzy.
I am a fat fatty. I've eaten terribly the past two days.
But, I have gone out to eat and not shoveled food into my face at my desk in between meetings. So that's been awesome to get some sunshine and a break during the day!!!!

I said good bye to my Galaxy S3 this morning. I have a new iPhone now and it's going to be awesome as soon as I get everything the way I want it. It'll be so nice to have everything Apple now!
Michigan weather officially has no idea what it's doing. We went from
predictions of rain all week, to rain every day but Sunday, then every day but Monday... now it's not supposed to rain until Saturday, just crazy humid. I guess it beats 14 feet of water on the highway...
OMG! I know! It is so freaking nasty outside! I could use just a couple of rain sprinkles right now.
Did any of you see the clip of Sarah Silverman last night talking to Guiliana before the Emmys? She was completely lit. Like high as a kite and full on admitted it. Then showed off her liquid pot. I didn't even know you could get pot in liquid form. She looked amazing. Too bad her behavior ruined the look for me.
Oh - remember that job I did the initial interview for back in July? The one where they said they wanted to move very quickly, 2nd interview in two weeks or less and starting mid-August? But then they called that second week after and said their timeline had been pushed back and they'd be interviewing mid to late August instead?
Yeah, they're no longer hiring for that position at all. ::sad trombone::
I'm thinking this may be a very good thing -- I was starting to have my doubts about the department after all the shuffling and delays, and it would be more ideal for me to start a job in Jan or so anyway.

I'm sorry, Laura. That's a hard position to be in. >:D<

Re: mommy-ninjaing - I guess I still have a lot of irrational/semi-rational fears that are worse at nighttime. Like, I think he's kind of dehydrated -- what if he stops breathing?!! Totally unconnected, but I can't shake those kinds of thoughts
