Pumping at work

Re: Pumping at work

  • I have the medela swing. So far so good but I haven't gone back to work yet...

  • This may sound superficial and silly, but how do you all transport your pumps? Is the official Medala tote brand worth it? Can I get by with a large pocket book? Right now I carry a laptop bag, and a lunch tote.

I just hate having something that screams pump. I am damn proud of being an ep-er, but there is zero privacy at my office. I may need to get a new work-bag, but I could get a decent Coach outlet bag for the price of the official totes, and fancy pumping tote bags.

  • I feel you with it being hard to pump at work. I was a teacher but now working evenings as a nurse for animals. Vet tech. I work 5- midnight. There is me the Dr and receptionist. If lucky I can pump twice most times once. One time couldn't pump at all due to so many emergencies. Since emergencies come all night no set breaks. It sucks!!!

  • I have been carrying my pump parts in a tote bag along with my other personal stuff (which is pretty minimal including wallet, keys, phone and chapstick). I plan on doing the same when I return to work and an additional lunch bag to store pumped milk and parts. I will also need to find a way to fit my laptop in there... And maybe a gym bag if i get to workout during lunch. Although between pumping and work, who will have time to work out?

I feel like with the amount of stuff I possibly need for 8-9 hrs, I need to take a suitcase with me.
