Also, I am having serious issues over what to watch tonight (my husband has band practice, so I finally get control of the remote!). I want to watch the Emmy's tribute to Robin Williams, but I really need to see whatever meltdowns happen on Bachelor in Paradise. Decision Decision. @irishcurls, I think I need your input on this.
I've had this weird, stitch-like pain on my right side right under my ribs off and on for two days now. I had hoped it would go away on its own, but no luck. Guess I get to call the doctor after all. Watch, I'll go in and it won't be doing it anymore, and they'll tell me it's probably just gas. 8-| But I really don't think it is, and it's kind of starting to freak me out a little.
I had the exact same thing & it's just RLP & our organs adjusting to everything moving around. Nothing to fear!
I'm starting to get concerned that my son doesnt want to move on from pureed foods.. I've tried giving him what we are eating, typical kids favorites, even stuff I don't particularly like just to introduce it. He takes 2 bites and the shuts down. Even like flavored oatmeal and scrambled eggs are a no go.
Any thoughts mommies of toddlers? (Ds will be 14 mo next week)

DD likes to be able to feed herself. She won't eat if we "feed her" but put anything on her tray and she eats it. Maybe it's an independence thing?
@smg2302 I think it's the opposite.. ill give him food on the tray.. he might pick at it if it's toast.. but eggs, chicken, fruit he won't pick up. He will use a fork we place on the tray with food on ot already about... 30% of the time.
We give him a utensil while we feed him (usually yogurt, Fruits, vegs all the purees pretty much) he'll eat them no prob.

Welcome to my nightmare.
he has been horrible about trying new things since we started moving away from purees around 12 months. just keep trying, eventually he ads things, it is a slow process. He too refused things that are kid favorites, I still can not get him to eat mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.
We still use pouches to supplement his meals (I love the Plum Mighty 4 ones), but he has expanded his food list enough now that I dont do one at every meal.
all i can say is KEEP trying, it took about 10 or so tries with all his now favorites to get him to eat them.

mine uses that opportunity to throw food he considers "vile" (everything not on his approved list of 10 food items)

Don't give up and keep trying. It took a long time for DS to eat regular food. Make everyting, even things like applesauce a finger food. Let him try a variety of foods and textures. Let him make a mess. Don't get fustrated (So hard!). We have to see an OT about DS eating issues. It usually just takes time.
My toddler is killing me today. He ran around the living room crying and dramatically throwing himself on the floor for 10 minutes and would only calm down after lots of snuggles. Apparently his molars are pushing through more, this kid is seriously the slowest tether in the face of the planet. I can only hope that he takes a really long nap after all of the crying.
This is probably more of a MMBF, but I'm posting it here anyway. DH and I overspent on our groceries this week, and we are on a spending moratorium for the rest of the week. This would normally be fine, but I'm out of root beer. I need root beer. It comes from a local brewery (Saint Arnold's, for you Houstonians) and is in a real glass bottle and I feel a little more like a normal human being when I can drink it. I'm so mad that I didn't think to add it to the shopping list before we decided to stop spending.
F15 December Siggy Challenge: Holiday Decoration Fails
do any of you gals have group appointments with your Dr.? my CNM group has 3 group appts., the first being at 15-17 wks to discuss wellness in pregnancy. - per their info packet
"You will still have your normal belly and vitals check before the group session. and, As an added bonus, small group visits offer a great opportunity to establish relationships and connections to other moms in the same stage of pregnancy"
My weird question is - would you bring your H to this?? My H seems to enjoy coming to all my appts. But, I think this one would be more just women? I don't know and I don't want to discourage him from coming if he wants to, but I don't want him to feel weird being the only man in the pregnant women group if he comes and no one elses SO comes... so what do you think?
Our MW group does this at my office. They call them centering appointments. It's voluntary. You can choose to do those or choose to have individual appointments. I chose to do them. I'm not from the area where I live, so I'm looking forward to meeting other moms. It wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. It was nice to talk to other pregnant ladies who are due around the same time.
SOs are welcome to the appointments, but only one guy came to the last one. My husband doesn't go to the normal check-ups anyways, so it wasn't really an issue. I don't think it would be too awkward for your husband, unless he is uncomfortable talking about all that labor, deliver, pregnancy entails. I would think it would be very informative for a first time dad.
RE: bra size. Just remember that a C isn't always a C. Example: a 34C = 36B = 32D. They are all the same boob size, just a different band size.
Pre-pregnancy I was a 34DD. Nursing/After nursing/Pregnant, I'm a 34G.
I'm still skeptical with all these 'conversions'. I was a 32C pre pregnancy. For a while my local VS don't carry 32C in the store, the sales women were always trying to convince me a 34B is the same. Tried them and know they're not. The girls didn't sit well in a B cup at all.
@ChickenOnSunday yup introduced all of those.. he'll eat/pick at puffs (usually ends up with like 10 in a fist and hulk smashes them).. but yogurt drops and mum mums he just throws.
Conversely, my dog refuses to eat his meal until after DS is done since he gets what Henry throws on the floor lol then he eats his food. I think he's gonna end up fat.
This should go without saying, but trying the Nair home bikini waxing kit is not a good idea... I usually shave but I've been getting razor burn, and my friend raves about getting waxed, but... No. Some things should be left to the professionals. My underwear hurts

My nephew is like this (he is 2). He will eat baby food. He would not eat people food until recently and it's really only crackers and peanut butter. My sister is taking him to a speech therapist and he seems to have texture issues, and they are working on it together.
So DH and I found a house we both loved on Saturday. We were all set to submit our offer when we found out the school district we thought we were in was in fact, not the one we're actually in. The school we would have to send our kids to is actually in the neighboring town and has a 5 on greatschools.org. (The school we thought we were in has an 8.) I called the district offices this morning and spoke to a few teachers I know and everyone has told me to move on and find a different house.
I'm totally agreement with that but unfortunately DH is not. He doesn't think school is that important. He's insane, right?! This house is a great deal, obviously because the schools suck, and he can't see past that. Also he thinks since this baby won't be in school for six years, the school has time to improve. I think that's ridiculous. Anybody have insight on this situation?
Even if you plan to move before your kids go to school, selling a house in a bad school zone can be very difficult.

Which purees are a favorite? If Henry likes apples than maybe you could try a baked apple and even use a little cinnamon and sugar to sweeten. Cut the apple into sticks before you bake so it is easier for him to pick up. You could do the same with a sweet potato.
one of the first finger foods MJ would eat was my homemade sweet potato fries.
super easy to make, just peel the potatoes, cut them into thick french fry sliced, toss in olive oil and cinnamon and bake. The full recipe is on wholesomebabyfood.com
I went and bought some new bras yesterday. I'm now a C cup. WOOT! I've never been a C before.
My dream is to be a C cup. I'm a DD pre-pregnancy and thankfully they haven't grown much yet, but once I'm done having kids a breast reduction is happening fo sho. C cup here I come.
The grass is always greener, right? I'm contemplating an enhancement once I'm done with breastfeeding this one.
I got implants when I was 23 and went from a Small B to DD's. It sounds drastic, but I have a big ol booty..and it totally made me proportionate. I think thats key!
I have an unhealthy addiction to eggs and salty things right now. When I told my doctor at my last appt I was craving salt, and I know I prob need to cut it down...she goes (half jokingly, but serious) "NO! Your blood pressure is low, so your body must be wanting it. If you stop, you may pass out!"
So I've taken that as a green light to pile on the salt. :-X She may regret telling me this at my next appt.

I'm the opposite hubby promised me a reduction after kids. I'm only 5'2" and a size 6-8 so i'm kinda too top heavy. I went many years ago but the doc said I should wait til after kids to see how my boobs end up if I BF. I can't wait it will be so nice to buy a normal bathing suit again. I never really got to wear the cute sexy bikinis because by the time I was old enough my boobs we too big. No way my parent we gonna let their 16 year old wear a string bikini

My DD is almost 2.5 and she still needs 4 molars and 2 canines. She didn't get her first tooth until 15 months. We are definitely slow teethers over here.
2 things: 1, @catladytx...They have the best root beer. I had only had it out of the bottle until we went to a wedding reception there 2 weeks ago. Drinking it off tap is amazing. But yeah, I like to drink that when I want to fit in with the drinky drink crowds.
2, OMG molars suck. DD had all but her 1 year molars by 9 months. Then her 1 years weren't that bad. Now we are half way through the 2 years and I ask myself why I didn't wait to get pregnant more and more often. Wine would make this much easier.

@ChickenOnSunday and @bhjones1980 he truly is weird. His favorite purees are peas and mixed veggies (peas, carrots and spinach). I did try sweet potato fries last week.. he wouldnt even take a second bite. We tried baked apples about 2 weeks ago at a restaurant but he might of disliked the added sugar; so, I think I will try a homemade verson I don't think he likes getting his hands dirty (he won't touch a banana on his tray.. if I cut it up and put it on the baby fork he'll eat maybe 4 or 5 bites).
I know it's a texture thing with him for sure. Just the faces and sounds he makes..

@musicgirl524 I had this with my second. I thought I was having liver problems because pregnancy can put stress on the liver.... it turned out to be ligament pain. Apparently the ligaments that hold the uterus in place stretch all the way up to your ribs, and they can hurt pretty badly under the extra weight of the baby.

It's not 11am yet, I'm already thinking about food.
Chicken fried rice or Pad Thai?
Someone please make a decision for me and put me out of my misery.
