No mixing?

I've read that you aren't supposed to mix milk pumped from different days. Does anyone know why that is? Is that just for storage? Sometimes I only pump an ounce after a feed but I'd never give LO just an ounce of pumped milk. Does that mean heating up multiple bottles to use those smaller amounts?

Re: No mixing?

  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you can mix milk from different days as long as it is the same temperature. So if you already have milk in the fridge, let the fresh milk cool before combining. As long as it's all stored in the fridge according to the guidelines, I see no reason why it can't be combined.

  • This makes much more sense to me. I could only imagine it had something to do with the taste which seemed odd. Thanks ladies!
