Our state fair started yesterday and if the weather permits I'll be going for the first time since I was in middle school. So excited! Ill be with my SO family- him, his mom, niece and nephew and I'm the carpool. Weather has been calling for storms all week and it's done nothing but a little drizzle with the sun shining. I'm just hoping we are able to go because I really want some fair food! #funnelcakegetinmybelly

You guys have me wanting to go to a fair so bad! I remember in high school I used to go with my best friend to her country house in Pennsylvania some weekends, and we went to a county fair once and it was so much fun! Now that DH and I are moving from the city to Princeton, you all have me really excited to find some fun events for the fall.
Ah! Here's the random thread. Like I posted, we announced on FB last night. Glad that's over with so I don't have to hide it anymore. Let that blump hang out!!
SO said his mom came around already and after thinking about it more she's super excited for the baby. The day we told her it turns out she was just having a bad day.
Today we're going shopping for clothes, a couch, and possibly a new bed for DD. I'm just excited to go shopping!
Oh and SO got that car sales job! The first month is salaried and then it goes to commission. Please cross your fingers this works out for us..
@chilibeansm0m There is an article out there about this--I think @mangomimosa posted it yesterday? I would probably still eat limited tuna (in fact I'm thinking of cracking a can open today), but chunk light is the favored one for pregnancy. Yes, albacore is the "good stuff", but coming from a more mature fish makes it higher in mercury. Note: if tuna is a pretty rare indulgence, I don't think eating even the albacore would matter. Mercury levels are something that have to build in the body over time.

Yea i don't eat tuna but my doctor said to limit it and to eat a specific brand.
Going to get my hair "redone" today! Not excited about going again but gotta get this hag hair fixed. This may be an inappropriate question, but do you tip again for her to fix it? I mean I tipped huge last week and ended up not liking it. If she messed up do you tip again? Argh not sure of the etiquette.
I just slept 9pm to 6am. It was glorious. Well I actually dosed off on the couch a little before 9. Slept til dh came to bed at 10 when he insisted I had to get up to look at dd. Somehow she managed to smuggle one of the balls from one of her toys to bed. Cute, but did not warrant a wake up to see how cute she was in dh's words.
I was trying really hard not to go anywhere today since I did major grocery shopping last sat and did costco yesterday but you can't buy everything at costco and we still need a few things so I think we will be going out after all.
Ok I have a WWM15 question:
My mom swears up and down that she heard on the news that someone important is saying you shouldn't eat canned tuna at all while pg now. With dd I just made sure it was albacore and in water and a good brand. I ate tuna maybe twice. I am not planning on sitting down with a can of tuna everyday but I can't even enjoy a tuna egg sammy? Are you mamas not eating canned tuna?
I don't think there is ever a time when it's acceptable to eat an egg and tuna fish sammich. Barf.
My whole house just did the ice bucket challenge. I enjoyed watching everyone else doing it on fb but had no intentions of doing it myself. Once you get called out you can't really say no though. That shit is cold.
S filled our bathtub with cold water and then added ice and sat in it. Fuck that!
The words "salad" and "sandwich do not go together ever. I'm vegetarian, and can't stand hard boiled eggs or mayo, so they are all out for me. Yuck.
We're going to a memorial picnic today run by the hospital where Noah was stillborn. I'm not sure what to expect, but for some reason I'm nervous. It's a 2hr drive away, so it will be a loooong day.
We leave for Italy on Tuesday! I'm so excited but also so nervous I'm going to feel like crap the whole time. But at least pasta and Gelato!!
Pack the colace! Every time I've been I've needed it and I wasn't pregnant. All the meat, cheese, pasta and gelato are worth it though!
Yes, bring colace. Italy is amazing! We went for our 1st anniversary. We loved Florence/Tuscany the most. Where cities are you visiting @jnowosielski ?
Yesterday after that horrible night of sleep, DS was super congested, lethargic & not drinking much. We skipped the food truck event & got him to bed early. Zarbees & Tylenol helped him sleep 12 hrs & he seems so much better. Now I need to watch him& decide if he is up for Ikea, the BBQ at our friends or both today. I don't want to push it.
I'm pretty sure chunk light in water is the one recommended in moderation ... Has anyone found the article that said no? I could go for a tuna & avocado sandwich right now !!! Yum!! And a side of potato salad!!
DH has been out of work since may it's been tough for us but at least we've been saving $$ in daycare... I've been so unhappy at my job I'm on the verge of quitting (I was thiiiiis close to on Friday) but then we'd both be unemployed... Unacceptable... I know I have other options -my old job, or a different position with this company.... I'm starting to be resentful he gets to be a SAHD and enjoy our little one while I'm busting my vomiting ass at work to bring home the bacon! Either way I'm not quite sure what the right answer is for our family. Just needed to vent a little. Thanks ladies

Italy is my dream vacation! I'm doing a little staycation today, but I had to go to work this morning. Blah I'm so ready to go enjoy myself by the pool and eat at fogo de chao tonight for dinner.

OMG Italy is my favorite place in the world!!! We went in June 2013 to Venice, Florence, and Rome. Where all are you going? Eat ALL OF THE GELATO! I wish I ate more than I did while we were there, even though I pretty much had some every day.
Rome, sorrento and positano. If i can't drink all the wine, I'm sure as hell going to eat all the Gelato. I just packed all flowy dresses so I don't have to worry about buttoning pants or shorts.
I've only been gone from TTGP for 2 months and I do not recognize A SINGLE BFP that's been posted recently. I can't tell if there's an influx of new people or I just never realized how quickly the turnover can be there. I was there for a year and almost always recognized the BFPs
@janda426 I usually check for BFPs and read the 2WW, and I don't recognize anyone either. I have recognized a few since mrsrexmaning, most recently penguinmc and mirak, but that's it.

Yeah those are the only ones ive recognized. They're getting lax over there with the drive by BFPs !
I'm so jealous over the Italy vacation hope u have a great time!! My random is that I actually had sex last night. I was out cold at 330am and my hubby woke me up with a poke lol anyway it wasn't too bad
Newbie question: it's time to buy a new bra I think. Do I just buy a size up or do I buy some sort of maternity bra? And where?
I bought a few nursing bras at motherhood maternity, they had a sale going on if u buy two u get one free. The only advice I have is that bras stretch so u should buy one that fits on the smallest setting therefore it will grow with you
Sorry what I meant was buy a bra far fits comfortably on the largest setting that way when the bra stretches out you can fasten a tighter setting and it'll still fit
Got a message from my step daughters mom this morning. She said she wants to sit down and talk with me so we can "clear the air and stop the hostility between us".
I told her about a month ago to stop talking to me because she screamed at me about forgetting to send an ice pack in her lunch box. (This was just the straw that broke the camels back). And she refuses to talk to my H.
While I love the idea of it all because I tried so hard for over a year to make things more amicable, the fact that she even said that makes me nervous. With the past all I can think of is "what's her motive"? I don't want to get over stressed or worked up.
Here's hoping it will then out well when/if she writes me to sit down and talk!
@melleasndrs Eat ALL the funnel cake...that sounds delicious!
@stefmxo Glad everything went well at your appointment, minus not getting an ultrasound...glad you go to hear the heartbeat though.
I woke up with a sore throat this morning and can't shake it...ugh. I didn't get sick once all last school year and it figures I would catch something the first week back.
Also, I went to try on maternity pants this morning while I was running errands so I knew what size to get when I started ordering some in a few weeks...I could seriously live in those things forever. So. Comfy.
After being possessed by a Diarrhea Demon since my BFP, it looks like I have now officially joined the Constipation Club.
My BFF is celebrating her birthday at a beer fest today. She bought the ticket before I was pregnant; the only reason I didn't was because I'm a procrastinator. Hoorah! At least there is good food there, which includes many, many glorious cheeses. Mmm...cheese.
Andplusalso, I'm 13 weeks 2da! And I'm totally confused because using the Googles, half say 13 weeks is the start of the 2nd trimester, and half say it's 14 weeks. One of the sites saying 13 is the Mayo Clinic, which I'm more inclined to believe than TB (which also said baby weighs a half pound in the 13wk video. wut.) But still, which is it??

Also 13 weeks 2da yay! My understanding is that 2nd trimester begins @ 13.3 weeks. So by 14 weeks your are int the 2nd trimester and at 13 weeks you are almost in the 2nd trimester.

Consumer Reports came out with a recommendation that pregnant women avoid ALL canned tuna. I don't know how much stock to put in it-- I mean, it's freaking CR not ACOG or something!
