So as I mentioned before I got a grant for our school (YAY) Well I emailed with the grant coordinator on Tuesday about setting up a date. I told her I would get back to her about getting together. Yesterday I emailed her and I got an out of office reply saying she was out and contact these people. The last line said that it is critical that we contact these people as she doesn't know when she will return. So I emailed the people and said why I was contacting her. Today I received a saying that the grant coordinator's 3 month old died in her sleep unexpectedly. They sent her personal email along with memorial information. I won't go to the memorial but I have been tossing around the idea of emailing her with the email they provided. I have never met her, but we have been in contact since March. I don't know her on a personal level, but we will be working together if and when she returns.
Would you send an email sending my condolences? If so, what would be appropriate?
