Sometimes, when something funny happens in a thread, I will want to share it with someone, so I'll tell the story (like the BSC Facebook Friend), but say "my friend told me." I don't say that friend is in the computer.
I told Hubz about the crowning photos story from a few months ago (yes, I'm bringing that back!). He thought it was hilarious and wanted to tell all of his friends and family. But he made ME tell the story and in his set up asked me who told me. Dude, don't out my interwebz friends to your family. I can't have them finding my safe zone.
If it is the story I told about the mass email with crowning photos hiding inside please share away! I think if you do something that stupid it is open season and you just have to accept your fate.
I have told that story to so many people. And they are all as equally horrified as we all were.
GUYS. I don't know the story. Tell me the story. Tell me. The. Story.

  • Long story short, this lady sent out a birth announcement email and NOBODY KNEW there were actual crowning shots in the email. So they're like aww cute a birth announcement with pictures-- BLOODY HELL WTF IS THAT?! In summary.
My hospital doesn't ALLOW photos to be taken of that shit. It's a weird policy, but I'm glad they have it.

  • I find it very difficult to control my stabby feelings whenever I see comments made about height/size and not being able to give birth.
Where/when/how does this occur? Height/size in what way? Too short? Too fat? You're built like a 12 year old boy? (Just trying to understand the source of rage, bc I agree that it's totally inappropriate/unnecessary!)

Also, WTAF - just like comments about 'bump' size are not welcome, this is also surely an off limits topic?
-- I'm referring to the "I'm so small/short/petite etc. Having anything to do with not being able to give birth. It just drives me crazy.
Yeah. Like I said, that momentarily scared me the other day when she was talking about being short and being scared she wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally. I thought, "Oh shit-- that was not in any of the books I read." Silly bumpies.

  • I know, I'm gross. I'm in bed eating gummy bears right now. My DH is just as bad. I keep thinking at least when my kid is old enough I'll have to brush twice a day to teach him good habits!

Sometimes (OK almost every time) when I take a bath these days, I get an intense urge to pee, so I let myself do it in the bath. I get out right after, but I know it's still gross, but I really don't care at this point.

Lol, that is a waste of a bath isn't it!

So, you gals that don't watch the news or keep up with current events...what do you talk about with friends, family, co-workers?

Everything else... new happenings at work, kids achievements or just their general craziness, books we've read or movies we've seen, hopes, dreams, how to make the best banana bread... there is no shortage of topics without needing to talk about politics. Also, if it's something they find particularly interesting (news wise) or that they're passionate about they can tell me all about it!

You are absolutely right! There are tons of things to talk about beyond what is going on in the world.

To take this a bit further... when I first got my BFP one of my very first symptoms was a yeast infection. It hurt SO BAD that the only way I could get any relief was to sit in a colodial oatmeal bath for hours and hours on end. I eventually gave up on even getting out to pee.

I do always take a shower after my baths so I certainly wasn't climbing into bed at night covered in pee water - that is the nights I didn't sleep in the tub. I also had to constantly drain water and refill to keep the bath warm... but none the less it was disgusting and I'd do it all over again because it was just too painful to get out.
  • I haven't read this thread yet because I am almost two days behind but I will shortly...
My confession is I cried after writing my last post on UO... sobbing really... it makes me feel bad for questioning bringing a child into this world...

Just posted tonight... late to the party...

    My post on UO....
I wasn't on the bump last night because we went out for dinner, so I missed all of this which is probably for the better. Other posters pretty much expressed most of my feelings but I will ask
@dana2die4 how would you feel if your son was shot six times by a cop???
I understand you wouldn't make comments like "trigger happy pigs" but you would have a very different perspective!!! As other posters have mentioned this is not the first unarmed black child killed by an officer and therefore the black community feels like this adds to the body count of our deceased children. The fact of the matter is that if Michael Brown was not black he would probably still be alive today, whether you choose to believe that or not it is a harsh reality. I will not have compassion for this officer or his family because they are still enjoying life (meaning they are still alive). He is not innocent no matter the circumstances because in the end he killed an unarmed  child and he has to live with that for the rest of his life.
"just because the kid was "unarmed" doesn't mean anything." Ummm the kid was unarmed which means there is no way he could have been a FATAL threat to the officer who was armed.
Being Team Green, I am not sure if we are having a son but if we do I have to deal with teaching him how to conduct himself when approached by a police officer so that he doesn't get shot like so many black children have. This is something you don't even have to think about but I on the other hand will possibly have to fear for my son's life every time he leaves the house because of the society we live in.
