I need to drop Diva Dog off at boarding in 2 hours and I have not packed her food and meds. Normally I am so good about doing it the night before. DH has also sent me back to bed for an hour since I have been up since 3:30 with this head & chest cold.
I am about to snap at SO and dear Auntie. Next time someone picks up their cell phone at dinner, comes late to dinner and decides to check my litterbox instead of coming and eating, or comes over randomly when I am getting the littles to bed... I don't care. He had 3 years to address all this, I don't care that it doesn't bother SO or "at my grandma's house....". That's nice. This is my house. I will pick up your meal and throw it out. And when SO gets home, I am locking the door. Sorry you are allowed to just walk in at will, but if it is 7:30pm or later, you aren't coming in the door. I need sleep. Not deal with super hyper kids who I need up early the next morning for school.
I was up until almost 2am looking at dogs in shelters in my state.
My mother is going to NH to meet a woman from NJ to get two new rescue dogs and I am incredibly jealous and now I want a new doggie too! Its like I'm a 4yo or something. Fortunately because we are moving, we have ZERO extra dollars to get a new dog. And my dog is getting old and she might kill me in my sleep if I got a new puppy to annoy her.
I fed my DD crappy-ish, ok crappy, dinners two nights in a row. 1st time cause I wanted to go out, and 2nd, cause it was 96 and too damn hot to cook. In my defense, she had excellent lunches and breakfasts.
Getting ready for work this morning I reach over to DH's side of the sink cuz he hogs the tooth paste. I noticed something lying on the counter. It was a fucking Pocket Pu$$y. I know he has one. And I know what it looks like. But I had never seen this one before. Like....are you fucking kidding me? Put that shit away man.

I bought something similar to that for my DH last pregnancy lol. anything to keep him "happy" and not trying to get me 5x a week and for the 8wks we couldn't after. sadly it "died" this yr and I've been meaning to get him another just haven't gotten my butt down to the "store" lol
I let DS have chocolate cake and ice cream for breakfast because I didn't want to hear the whiny moaning bitchfest if I said no.
To piggyback off the racism thing- I'm a white girl, and I 100% trust black guys more than white guys (even though I'm married to a white guy) like if I was walking down the street and needed help and there was a middle aged black dude on one side of the street and a middle aged white dude on the other side, I'd totally approach the black guy. Reason being- white men are more likely to be serial killers or keep you locked in a basement. And I personally don't have time for all that.
So do we...might need to adjust that habit when I'm using it to sanitize bottles and the like later down the line....mostly b/c I see me doing that relatively frequently when the time comes.
unless you live somewhere where the drinking water is unsafe, you do not need to sanitize your bottles.

Everyone around me thinks I'm insane, but I am the same way. I have always been distrusting of middle aged white men, especially middle class. They make me very nervous and I avoid situations where I might be alone or in a vulnerable situation with one.
My FFFC, I got an email this morning that Destination Maternity is having a denim BOGO 50% off sale, so I'm buying myself 2 new pairs of maternity jeans and a couple shirts because I'm tired of only having one pair of jeans and a couple tank tops/plain t shirts that fit.
Baking is not nearly as much fun as it was pre-pregnancy because I can't lick the entire bowl. I still have a finger-swipe of whatever I make before I put it in the oven... I just CAN'T make cookies/brownies/cake without at least sampling first for saltiness, etc. How often do people really get Salmonella from baking? ... oh please don't answer that if it's a high number!!
I don't know any stats on Salmonella, but I still eat raw cookie dough and taste the batter when baking. Always have. Always will. I'm a real risk taker. I also eat deli meat.

I baked a cake last night and licked the bowl. It was awesome. I eat deli meat AND tuna. Livin' on the edge I tell ya.
On the salmonella topic - I had a high school teacher who was a body builder and he used to drink 6 raw eggs every morning (brings back 1st trimester nausea thinking about it). He'd been doing it daily for 7 or 8 years and only got salmonella once. I'm too lazy to do the math but I'm pretty sure that's almost statistically insignificant so bring on the brownie batter!
Damn someone took mine about peeing in the shower! I seriously thought of it last night when I did the peeing.
My second FFFC....This summer on this island has made me a racist. Yes I'm piggy backing off of others' but it's getting serious. I've NEVER been this way in my life and I've judged and even disliked family members for making inappropriate comments but I have dealt with so much crap this summer that every race has lived up to their stereotypes at least once. I am living with a Mexican man and pregnant with my second half Mexican child and I had a Mexican woman call me a stuck up white bitch who hates Mexicans. REALLY?! I'm over this.

I read that salmonella is no different if you are pregnant or not...it does not cross the placenta, so you will just get sick (like you would anyways). Therefore, eating raw batter/dough is no riskier than if you weren't pregnant! This was music to my ears!!
Every day for lunch this week I've told myself that I was going to get a salad. Every day besides yesterday I've basically gotten the opposite of a salad, and dinners weren't necessarily the healthiest either. Today for dinner we are going to an Italian restaurant, so to offset the pasta I plan on getting I was going to get a something healthy for lunch. I really, really just want a chipotle burrito. Maybe if I ask them to be light on the rice...
my confession - i just had a very ugly cry in the office bathroom after finding out that my work doesn't pay me at all during maternity leave (we don't have set policies in place - it's just up to the boss). i'm the breadwinner in my family. fml.
@PacoCat33 - They lump pregnant women into the categories of people who typically have lower immune systems, so I think that's the risk. Just the lowered immunity makes us more susceptible to getting Salmonella ourselves - not that it's going to attack the little one. So for some reason that makes me feel better about it too.
thanks, @katehgee. i work for a very small firm so we don't have any policies, set vacation hours, paid time off, etc. there's not much i can do at this point. i told my boss that i support my family and he said "i figured as much - but leave is leave." rat bastard.
I have gestational diabetes. My blood sugar level after breakfast was great so I rewarded myself with a chai tea with steamed milk. Omg, so good and so wrong.
Okay, here's mine. I've always considered myself very "independent." My husband and I both travel, separately, quite a bit and usually I even enjoy it. But typically it's only for a few days or maybe a long weekend. However, I'll be gone for a full 7 days for a conference and research this coming week and I am absolutely dreading it. We've haven't been apart for that long since we've been married. In fact, the only time we've ever been apart for that long was when I studied abroad for a summer in college (it was rough!). I know other people do it all the time, it's just 7 days, and it's not a big deal, but I'm still really bummed out about having to be away. I never sleep well when he's not with me... I guess I'm not as independent as I fancied myself. heh.
This is me too! It sucks. I'm leaving for a trip that wasn't originally on my schedule in 2 weeks, and not looking forward to it at all. Even worse, I had to set up my first trip post birth already. I will be gone for 5 days, in Vegas of all places. I'm trying to convince DH to come with LO - still up for discussion. I really hope he will come. Being apart from DH and my puppies for 5 days is hard, but I can't imagine how hard it will be with baby boy is here.
my FFFC - I have worked for maybe an hour today. No one is in my office. I don't really feel bad about it either.

I have another one, I posted last week about liking 19 Kids & Counting and having admiration for their faith and some of their ideals, but earlier this week I found an article about Michelle Duggar recording a robo call to stop trans* rights in Arkansas, and it totally disgusted me. I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me, but I believe wholeheartedly in HUMAN rights for all people, and I don't know how anyone can call themselves a Christian and incite hate and fear towards a group of people because they lead a different lifestyle. I don't think I can continue to watch their show and enjoy it knowing that they are so hateful.
I wipe back to front. I've never been able to neatly reach behind me to wipe; I feel like it's smearing all up my back. I have so much control and everything's so much cleaner and easier to take care of from the front. And I've never ever had a uti, so yeah.
I mean...a lot of employers don't offer paid time off, right? I get that it's annoying, but I work at a private school and we only get two weeks at 50 percent of our salary, and that just started this year after we reached a certain number of employees. You can take your vacation/sick leave also, but the rest is FMLA and not covered at all. I thought that was pretty standard in the US.
I thought the same as @sarals24. I can use my sick leave, vacation leave and claim short-term disability but once that's all gone, I'm on leave without pay until I come back.
thought that was standard for most businesses in the US.

Good to know. May be using it more often for it's intended purpose anyway once LO arrives.
I still sanitize my bottles, I use a steamer, I don't get why they say you don't have to now, but are constantly telling tou to make sure hands are washed when picking up the baby.
I am not anti germs, but 3 minutes in the microwave isn't too bad for my own peace of mind.
No harm comes from doing it, just not needed. You're going to have clean hands if you're washing the bottles, anyway, and I know I always wash my hands before making a bottle.

Before I got pregnant, I had all these ideas of how I would do things. I'd eat tons of healthy green veggies, go for a long walk every day, journal about my experience etc. So far I'm 0 for 3. I feel like a lazy blob of a human being and just want to eat all the carbs.

Same here. I don't get holidays unless I'm using sick or vacation during that time. I should have enough leave for one month, then STD/unpaid FMLA.

That's ok my work is trying to pull some crap after 4 years, nearly all full time saying that my leave time will be cut in half if I didn't work full time my entire pregnancy (hairdresser, on my feet all day). And my DM (who is pregnant too) brought up how "funny" it is that other stylists don't want work until they go into labor on their lunch like she did. I got it shaved down to 23hrs a week and if they wanna give me shit when its time I just won't come back.. Not ideal but I'm not giving up my time on my first child's first weeks.
