Ultrasound shows 8w2d baby, supposed to be 9w6days based of lmp

Hey ladies,

I had an ultrasound down about 15 minutes ago and they said the baby was doing just fine and we saw the babies heartbeat. Sadly, I am confused because I am measuring 2 weeks behind. Do you also believe they don't do photographed sonograms anymore?! Any advice. I had a miscarriage in September.. Baby passed away at 7 weeks it was a missed miscarriage.

    Seeing baby's heartbeat is always a good sign! I'm sorry you're worried about measuring behind, though... Could your dates be wrong? What does your doctor say about it?

    He said everything is fine and the baby is perfectly fine.

    I'm sorry you're worried, but I'd go with your Doctor's lead and try not to since he wasn't concerned at all.  You could have ovulated a little late with late implantation or something and my understanding of these ultrasounds is that there's a little variable in them anyway, so try to focus on the fact you saw the hb and that everything is looking good :).

    My first u/s I was positive I had ovulated on July 2nd and was almost 7 weeks or whatever. No heartbeat and no fetal pole. My doc had me come back in couple days but still no and I was convinced I was miscarrying (again). My betas were going way up though so she scheduled another one 9 days out. Yep...it sucked! Anyway 9 days later I had a HB of 130bpm. A week later plenty of growth and I am just now 7 weeks and HB was 151. Yep I ovulated 10 days later than I thought. I am a repeat miscarriage person though so I am still being cautious but this is the best it's ever been (knock on wood and praise God). ...you never know. Late implant or late ovulate etc. It isn't really the first ultrasound that matters but the follow up ultrasound(s) as they measure growth. Just like first betas don't matter SECOND betas matter as they measure growth. It sounds like you are doing great to me.

    My EDD was pushed back 10 days with this one too. It's scary, but as you go for more scans (1st trimester and so on) you can see if the baby is still measuring on the same track or not. Sometimes their position can effect the measurements as well. If baby is scrunched up in a ball, it's going to measure smaller than if it was arching it's back.

    I might be in the same boat as you (waiting to find out tomorrow).  In my case, I had ovarian cysts around ovulation time after going off the pill so I'm thinking that might have caused a late ovulation and/or implantation.  I plan to ask my doc about it tomorrow at my follow-up u/s.   Sticky baby dust to you!

    You may have ovulated late.  ::hugs:: I understand being nervous but if you doc says it looks fine try not to worry.

    Congrats on a great u/s . My re said that they're actually off a week usually on early u/s. Stay positive! Pgal brain is hard:(

    Sorry that happened. They pushed me back about a week. EDD was 2/14 and now its 2/22 or 2/23. We probably ovulated later. KNOw are not a good way to get an EDD.

    Good news is that you saw the HB and if the dr isn't concerned, try to relax. GL!

    This is extremely common when using LMP, and not at all an indication of anything being wrong.  ((hugs)) I know it's hard, but try to stay positive.

    This. Based off my LMP my due date would be April 11. I believe from charting my ovulation date was way later in my cycle and my due date is May 1. So it is possible and most likely you ovulated later than expected. Try to stay positive. Hugs mama!!
