baby shower ...help

I am in the process of adopting my daughter who is turning 1 next week. We are also having our boy oct 30. So my church wants to throw a shower for me and include my daughter, they asked me to add stuff for her. but I feel bad asking for 2 kids... I figured I would add a double stroller. any thoughts...

Re: baby shower ...help

  • I agree with @FamousEa - If they are offering, why not give them some ideas.

  • If they've asked, I don't see why not. I know some people are turned off when there are big ticket items on a registry, but I love seeing them. Even if They can't afford the entire purchase, they may want to gift you with a gift card toward the purchase, etc.

    Congrats on the little ones!

  • I think it is really sweet to include her. Plus ideas are just that... Ideas you aren't saying buy me double!!
I think double stroller is great, high chair, baby wearing item like an ergo, moby or Tula? Might be helpful especially with two around?

Pack n play could be helpful for either or both children?

Sounds like a nice gesture. Enjoy.

  • Thank you for all the great ideas. And yes I also think its super sweet. I teared up when they asked me. I will put some things on there that she will need like shoes and diapers. I like the idea of a pack n play. TY
  • Congrats on your adoption!  I'd include stuff for her, too.  I have a very small registry (STM) and included some things that will initially be used by DS1- like toddler sized hooded towels.  Eventually most stuff will be used by #2.

  • A lot of what you register for your daughter will eventually be used for your son. Aim for gender neutral. I like the idea of a double stroller.

I agree with PP's and I AM the etiquette queen ;) Just kidding.

Hmmm, for a 1 year old?? Do you have any stuff for her already?

High chair, feeing utensils, plates, sippy cups, clothes, diapers, stroller, bath stuff, toys, books. The list goes on and on, depending on what you already have for her.

AND, the bonus is with those things, you can use them for both kids. So. Really, I don't think it's that out of the norm. She's only 1. My family wanted me to register for things I thought were WAY too old, like a potty chair. But I did it. They asked.
