Oh gosh, I am hot mess over here. I wore slippers to Starbucks today. I put a bra on before leaving the house so I felt like I did a good job at balancing out the crazy :-)

  • I love doing my hair and makeup and I was really afraid I was going to let those things go, but I really haven't. I might have for a couple weeks when things got really rough, but other than that, things have been pretty much the same.

My dressing has been super boring. I don't look much different, and I've lost weight, but I can't button my pants anymore and I have to push them below my belly (I was already rather overweight), which means I'm nearly walking around holding onto my belt loops so they don't fall down! I'm spending some time at the sewing machine tonight...

  • I have long hair too and it's been in a bun for weeks. It needs color so bad but I want to wait until I'm in my 2nd trimester. I am also a bit of a make up junkie but have not had much motivation to put it on. I should, considering my lovely pregnancy acne and melasma. OY!

  • @bhjones1980‌ does this count as mom hair? Or at least cute, sexy-ish mom hair? The thought of that horrifies me, and I never really though about it like that!!! This cut/color combo is what I picked out... X_X
  • I really try not to let myself go when pregnant. Or with my kids.

Every morning while b plays or drinks his milk I at least put on some makeup and fix my hair. Honestly- taking 10 minutes for myself makes me feel so much better about myself.

I second whoever said don't wash your hair every day. I do every 3-4 days and use baby powder between to keep the roots nice and on the last day I put it up.
  • Ive been slacking about painting my toes nails and there were a few times since I've been pregnant that ive gone to the store without makeup on (late at night but its still not pretty at 35) so i guess im in this category.

I only work part time so unless i have to go some place that day i rarely wear makeup around the house. I usually do a messy bun and moisturizer. I very rarely ever leave my house without respectable clothing and makeup tho. (My best friend cracks on me because i wear makeup to her house and to go to the pool or park with the kids )

I dont usually do my hair for errands pregnant or not. It looks cute in a bun with a pair on sunglasses on my head. My hair is long and thinner. I dont like my hair short. I think it looks fabulous on some women but not me. I'd rather rock a bun or a twist on days i dont feel like blowing it out and straightening.

I dont think that is mom hair, its a cute cut actually. Mom hair is usually much shorter and without much styling. Its not to be confused with shorter chic styles.

  • Thank goodness for blowouts! I go once a week (or 1.5 weeks) and my frizz tamed. I have long hair and don't touch it the entire week. It has been a lifesaver and worth every penny.

I have never been a huge makeup wearer (mascara and lipgloss), but my lack of shaving has gotten out of control! It is disgusting, even to me. haha

@chickenhawke, I'm intrigued. What's your routine for maintenance between blowouts? I'm hoping second tri tames my frizz for a bit with glorious, shiny hair (one day), but I'm not holding my breath.

  • @lizjennings81 a good blowout and dry shampoo as the end of the week nears(I prefer Aragon Magic or Bumble&Bumble) are wonderful. It's the new millenium version of what our grandmothers did! Honestly, just don't fuss with it, maybe brush it out in the evenings or mornings with a round brush, and leave it alone!

*Make sure they really scrub when they shampoo, tip extra and they always will. Lot's of cities have blow-bars (and those are fine), but I prefer to use smaller salons that charge less. They get to know you and what you like vs. a factory that does the same blowout no matter your personal style.
Thanks for the tips! I may try this one week just to see how it goes.

(And having been to Dry Bar, I'd definitely go with my regular salon for this.)

  • Yes espically while dh is working out of town for weeks at a time. I just really don't care only my DD sees me. But starting next week I have to be presentable everyday for classes oh what fun it will be to be pregnant for my last semester of college!
